  1. The tracking number shows! It took three full days after they gave it to me, but I'll take it any way I can get it. Thanks for all of your good advice and support. I'm always worried when I buy from someone new to me. Otherwise, delays don't usually bother me that much. Thanks again!
  2. Thanks for the reply. I have purchased from Ken, and he's the best. Unfortunately, he did not carry the handbag my GF wanted and I needed it asap. The idea that it takes three days for the parcel to actually be delivered to their local post office makes sense. What I don't get is why the merchant didn't just tell me that. I'll wait the five days they suggested and see what happens...
  3. I have been purchasing rep watches online from China for several years now. Although there have been some minor problems along the way, all of the merchants ultimately delivered what they promised. Recently I ordered a rep handbag for my girlfriend from a merchant that comes highly recommended on repgeek.com. I had never dealt with them before. I placed the order via PP and received a EMS tracking number two days later. So far, so good. It has now been three days since receiving the tracking number and it still does not show up on the EMS China tracking search engine. The same "no information for this tracking" message keeps coming up. I contacted the merchant to verify that the number was correct and was told that there is a "post Chinese holiday backlog" at the local post office and that I should contact them (the merchant) in five days if the tracking number doesn't show up. I admit to being a little skeptical about that explanation. Has anyone had this experience with EMS tracking numbers from China before? I guess I've been lucky because it's never happened to me in all the years I've bought reps. Also, if I'm being scammed, would contacting PP not work because of the nature of the goods being sold? Any advice would be appreciated.
  4. Here's a quote from the campaign press release: Counterfeiters increasingly target internationally renowned Fine Watch brands, whose reputation, capacity for innovation and sales all suffer as a result. These brands must also invest significant amounts in the fight against illicit copies in all their forms and to protect their intellectual property. As counterfeiting continues to spread, an even more serious consequence is the generalised loss of confidence in companies that nevertheless create jobs and added value. At national level, counterfeiting forces governments to invest heavily in the fight against fakes while losing out on tax revenues, and takes away employment opportunities. Finally, the phenomenal amounts of money generated by counterfeiting go on to benefit the mafias, criminal organisations and terrorist groups that reign over this illicit trade, where child labour is commonplace, and health and safety standards are openly flouted. Those are serious allegations. Of course, they cite no empirical data to support them. The one point that does cause particular concern is this issue of child labor, which is tantamount to slavery IMO. Anyone know whether there is any evidence to support that claim in the replica watch industry?
  5. I thought this was an interesting topic worthy of discussion. What do y'all think?
  6. For most American members of this forum, the most relevant portion of H.R. 32 [109th]: "Protecting American Goods and Services Act of 2005", which was signed into law by President Bush in March of 2006 (Public Law No: 109-181), is the "trafficking" section making it a criminal violation of federal law to IMPORT any counterfeit goods with the intent to transport, transfer, or otherwise dispose of, to another, for purposes of commercial advantage or private financial gain.
  7. I'm told it will be sent the week of June 7th... BTW, my credit card won't be charged until it is shipped.
  8. Update: Special U.S. promotion pricing ends June 9th! Regular price will be about $1,700USD afterwards.
  9. Eterna released some nice Porsche Design models at Basel 2007: This is a LE of only 333 pieces: I believe the Worldtimers (below)are about 10K USD:
  10. It's not all that accurate a REP, but I guess a turby is a turby. Enjoy!
  11. Interestingly, this has been compared to the hard to get Hublot Big Bang. I didn't care much for the HBB when I first saw it, but it has grown on me over time. I haven't bought the rep because of the Asian movement, and the gen is far too expensive for me, if not overpriced. The Hublot has a waiting list, so there aren't any decent discounts available. I wonder if the C1 might grow on people, too. Then again, at a LE of only 100 watches Concord obviously isn't certain of the likely demand for this watch. And I'm sure they intend to keep it exclusive by charging a small fortune for this watch. Too much for my budget!
  12. I don't consider anyone on this forum a loser, but I understand your point. I like the watch, but until I get to see it for real I'm not likely to buy it. Also, I suspect it may be a wee bit too expensive. I'm having difficulty finding out the MSRP, but am still investigating. I have read that it may not be available until December anyway, so I'm sure other watches will take precedence long before then. Thanks for the input!
  13. Sorry, Justasgood, but everyone else got it right.... IT'S A GEN! .
