  1. Thanks, but this is one of those cases where the dealer still has it on their site, but when I attempted to order, I got an email noting that it was no longer carried.
  2. Ive been scouring the dealers for this Vintage Vacheron Chrono-- no one seems to have it, although it is still listed on some of the dealer's sites.. I missed my chance back in 2006 or so. Any help greatly appreciated. http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.ph...stantin+chrono Anyone know how to source one? Thanks to Repfish for link and photo...
  3. Whats the consensus? Obvious flaws? http://www.puretimewatch.com/index.php?productID=1214
  4. "Also don't consider it any reason to publicly damage a well earned reputation for customer service in a group buy, where the profit margin is slim, also when true service is really demonstrated after delivery of a damaged watch." I concur-- mine finally arrived with, a list of flaws--some cosmetic, some mechanical. Jay has been exceptionally responsive, my return got back to China two days ago... lets see how it goes from here.
  5. Just got my notice it cleared customs on the 16th. Spent all of 12 minutes in customs according to the tracking info. A week prior to that, Jay informed me the watch was being tested, and would ship as early as last Monday-- Hopefully, it should be here tomorrow...
  6. I cant tell from the pic if the pearl is convex or cancave-- my gen is concave, and all the aftermakets and reps Ive seen are convex-- dead solid giveaway if that is your concern....
  7. Dropped Jay an email today-- received a reply that they are testing the watch and will ship tomorrow as long as it passes. Im starting to eye the domino now, too....
  8. I received my order confirmation from Jay on Sept. 1-- and have received nothing since-- no tracking number, etc. At what point should I be starting to be mildly concerned?
  9. yep, I am a huge fan of the Fleming books and short stories-- Great writing? no. But wonderful documents of the time (1950's- 1960's)-- Bond was very much a character of the post WWII/Cold War era-- not dependant on gadgetry, at times brutal, and not often introspective. I have high hopes for this one....
  10. MUCH closer to Fleming's description of Bond-- Fleming described him as looking like Hoagy Carmichael -- certainly not what one wold consider refined and pretty.
  11. Anyone else running into rotor noise issues? How about chrono resetting?
  12. If it is not too late, Im in for a silver/black version.
  13. ok... The horizontal switch that has I O II: when set to I = clockwise when set to II = counter (anti) - clockwise when set to O = Power off The dual vertical switches that have O above I: when set to OO = interval of 12 minutes rest then 33 seconds winding when set to OI = interval of 15 minutes rest then 33 seconds winding when set to IO = interval of 18 minutes rest then 33 seconds winding in one direction, the 18 minutes rest, the 33 seconds in the opposite direction (the horizontal switch plays no part in this mode) when set to II = interval of 24 minutes rest, then wind for 33 seconds Or, at least that is how the settings work on my quad winder-- I would assume they are the same. When you change modes, you have to shut the winder off and back on again.
  14. Mineral glass is ok for me in this model. Ive been waiting for the decorated movement, and the price was just too good. Viagra blue on the way.
  15. Thanks for the compliment on the shots. A couple things I noticed, only after looking at the shots and sending them to leitztozeiss-- the pearl on the gen. is actually concave, and the tube/stem assembly on the gen. is very different-- the threads are far more recessed.
