  1. I think I'll get one in black orange... That gives a bit of life to the dial... And makes it look more different from my speedmaster (helps me justifying to my wife getting yet another watch )
  2. Indeed. Problem is, as I understand the thing, reps are totally illegal in France, and that may cause more problems to a watchmaker than just the fact that spare are hard to come by...
  3. Well, that's what I thought... Problem is finding a watchmaker that will accept taking care of a rep here in France... and in my place, which is not that large a city.
  4. Hummm, guys, I think I may need a bit of advice here... this watch is running fast, too fast for my taste, as it gains 2 to 3 minutes a day. Is there anything I can do to cure that, at least partly, short of bringing it to a watchmaker ?
  5. You're very right... It's something I may do in the future... However, even if it looks rather fine, it's still a bit off-centred... But the coating may mask that to some extent. All in all, after four days of wearing it, I'm definitely very satisfied with that watch stock. There's always room for improvement, but considering the price, it's really awesome. (Only things bothering me are: the noisy rotor... and that seems to improve (slightly) over time, plus the squeaky bracelet, that's solved easily by oiling it a bit)
  6. Ah.... by the way, I need to precise that the movement is hacking, since it's not indicated on josh's site...
  7. Got the watch from Josh's site (Perfect Clones...) And the M-serial on the rehaut is M092117, it's visible on the first photo !
  8. Everything is stock, straight out of the box... As I said, I got my hands on it only this evening (well, better said, I've got it on my wrist... )
  9. Huuuu So, what do you guys (rolex experts... ) make of it ?
  10. OK, guys So this is my first topic "per se"... I've been looking for three watches for some times now, a Navitimer, a Radiomir and.... guess what, a Sub... Yep, I know, greatly original. Thanks to a friend who owns a pretty decent rep' of the Navitimer, I got into the rep' world, thinking that maybe I can have these watches in the coming year instead of the coming decade (and that's only if I'm lucky ). I got the Radiomir (a GMT 10 days, pretty decent but far not that accurate). And now, having learned a few things from you guys on this forum, I've tackled the problem of the Submariner with Josh's Beginmariner. It arrived this morning and I got hold of it tonight when I came back from the office. My first impressions were ..... AAAHHHHHHhhhh looks nice !!! feels great (and quite light, but not toyish yet... ) Then, I've looked at it a bit more attentively. It definitely doesn't have any AR yet there's the little crown laser engraved at 6 on the cristal (whooo, I just noticed, but it shows a bit on the first photo) and the rehaut gets the "ROLEXROLEX" engraving that only the most recent (gold only) gen submariners sport. But it ain't too conical. A bit too shallow, maybe, but the general impression is pretty good. the case seems very good, at least to my noobie's eyes... and so does the bezel and the crown guard. The pearl on the bezel is a bit off-centered but looks better "in real life" than most I've seen on the net. The back of the watch, again, seems great... To be honest, at the moment the only fault I can find to this watch is one or two minute scratches on the bracelet (that, by the way, is great albeit a bit to large for me, even though my wrist is by no mean meager... I don't have screwdrivers of the right size, so I'll wear it loose, for the time being ) and the fact that the rotor is so damn noisy... A fact I was quite aware might happen, having read a few reviews. So, to conclude, for my noob's eyes at least, this is a great watch, and even more so given the price (108$, shipping included... ), that comes with great service from Josh (my order got lost, he found it again, and straighten every thing very fast, plus he was very fast overall), a well known rep in this forum yet with some small differences (the engraved rehaut) with past examples.
  11. Thanks toadtorrent... Seems to be working now !! And thanks for the welcome, Andy ! (and yup, you're very right, I already found most of the info I was looking for here, and learned in the process a health of stuff I didn't even though people could think about !!! ) B)
  12. thanks a lot, toadtorrent, I have indeed started reading your "guide for noobs" and started learning plenty of interesting things... :oK: Indeed, I may end up modding watches and so on... For now, however, I'm don't feel confident enough to even just open the case back and inspect more closely the movement... But, I guess it'll come... By the way, how the hell can I have my avatar showing in the forum... When I look at my profile, I see it, but here... no ?
  13. Hi there guys. I've been mostly reading this forum yet, and only now decide to really join in and write a first post. I'm quite new to the rep game, yet I've loved watches for quite some time. I've own a gen Speedmaster Reduced since late 90's. Recently I've been bitten by the bug again, but considering that the watches I'd like to add to my collection included a Panerai Radiomir, a Breitling Navitimer and a Rolie Submariner, well, money being short and me just married, I was thinking that a long wait was in sight when I met a friend who owns a Navi rep', not perfect but quite convincing... I then though, hey, how about doing the same, and join the dark side ??? Well, I've gotten myself a pretty cheap Radiomir GMT 10 days copy one month ago, and I must say that apart from the "rose gold" coating that went off very soon to reveal a nice "gold gold" case, I'm quite happy with it... albeit the cheap 21J asian movement do freeze from time to time. So now, it's time to tackle my two next fancies... I guess I'll start with the sub' and get me a "beginmariner" very soon Then, the plan is: get the Navitimer at the begining of next year, and be done with it, at least for some time... I guess that even if I really catch the bug, my wife will make sure I don't buy too many reps...
