  1. hahahaha i took my name from the zenith chronomaster, give a dude a break!
  2. See what I'm saying? Newb:) Thank god. I have a quartz portu which does not run the way you describe, so I was totally mystified by the 3717's behavior. Live and learn. Thanks man.
  3. So, I just grabbed my new pilot chrono A7750 from the post office this afternoon. The problem is, I have yet to get the second hand to work! The main second hand only turns when the chrono is on. After about 15 minutes, the chrono drains the reserve and the entire movement locks up after 58 seconds. I have yet to engage the second hand while the chrono is off. Only the sub second works, along with the hr and min (it seems to keep decent time). Should I send it back? Help is definitely appreciated
  4. Thanks everyone for the pictures, links, and advice. I decided to go with the ingenieur. Not because the IWC won the poll by a landslide, but because I think the ingy is more flexible. .. and it's really grown on me over the past week or so. That, and I think the VCO looks better on older guys. That band is very regal and classy... I don't think I'm ready to rock that yet:) I'll post pics of the ingy when she arrives!
  5. Exactly--great watch for biz and biz-casual. Thanks for the pointer. By the time I found that thread, it was sold. Damn fanatics. Anyway, I saw some grumbling about the new VCO's build quality.. the strap in particular. Has that gotten better, or is it luck-of-the-draw?
  6. Though I undoubtedly have no need for it, I really want to grab a new Ingy or VCO (black face). Probably from Silix. My problem is that I'm unsure how great these really look when they're on. they look great in the case. However, I've seen pics of people with Ingy's and they look odd on the wrist. The VCO.. well.. there just arent many pics of people wearing them, period. I'm also toying with the idea of getting the double-ar titanium ingenieur. It's different... afterall.. I already have several nice stainless pieces. Anyone have any thoughts?
  7. The Portuguese is running like a champ, keeping deadly accurate time. Looks and feels new--it's such a sharp watch. I actually received that one as a gift in late 07, before the bug truly sank its teeth in. It wasnt until I took a trip to the markets of beijing that I became truly hooked on watches. My guide took us to some collectors who run watch shops on the DL, where the merchandise lies behind fake bookcases and trap doors. Quite an unbelievable experience The prices are great, too, but you have to be careful.
  8. Hey guys, I read posts on this site all the time... so, i should probably introduce myself:) Hello. I never imagined i'd get into watch collecting (as if I don't have enough expensive hobbies) but over the past few months i've picked up quite a few decent reps. I'm up to 7 now, with two being exceptionally nice (a portuguese and a steelfish). Currently, I'm wishing for a nice Overseas Peace out!
