  1. Is the rose gold on the surface of our reps at all gold? Is it ZrCN, TiCN or TiN coating? If it really is, it is a huge improvement over the conventional plating. Has someone made gold test from a rose gold rep? If it is not gold, we can assume that it is some PVD coating. We have also red several experiences about the scratching resistance of rose gold reps, which strengths this assumption. Personally, it is more important to me that the color do not wear out or peel off than it is really gold.
  2. Are the gold tone of Citizens watches result of physical/chemical vapour deposition (PVD/CVD) -coating or traditional electrochemical plating or an ingridient/s (chromophore) in the stainless steel alloy? It is said to be abrassion resistant...
  3. Luminous pigments have usually the strongest absorbance at violet - blue wavelengths (300-500 nm). Blue LEDs works fine, UV-A/B/C lamps mainly even better.
  4. The radiation flux from the light source is partly absorbed by electrons in the glowing matter. The wavelengths absorbed are characteristic for the pigment, the matrix and luminous center. The delayed light (luminescence) is caused by the defects in lattice which traps electrons. When the electron is released from the trap, it retains radiating a photon that can be green or blue etc. The trapping is not very efficient. The long exposure under the light is thus needed. The more electrons are trapped the more intensive the glow will be. The trapping time is a statistical event and it is fully dependent on the pigment. Luminova is strontiumaluminiumocide containing europium and dysprosium (SrAl2O4:Eu2+,Dy3+).
  5. @Corgi, I do not want to comment your opinions or post; however, there are some inaccurate information and confusion. Lets see closer:
  6. Need to find reliable watchsmith from Scandinavia or Germany. Who can repair and service my reps with ETA/ETAs with GMT/ASIAN 7750. I have asked earlier without any luck.
  7. Gentlemen, please send also a pm to me. I'm located in EU, and I have not find any watchsmith to service and repair my rep collection.
  8. When this will be available from our dealers? http://www.gorx-eshop.com/bookpic/20072140444276120.jpg This has been always the king of Breitling family.
  9. I hate also customs, and I am trying to find a dealer in some EU country. I have tried to buy from PT, but He do not sell to me anything. I have no idea why. I have not had any problems with any other dealers. I have used Joshua & Andrew, who are gentlemen and friendly dealers with good aftermarketing.
  10. Dear All the rep enthusiasts, Could someone send me a pm or an email about a reliable and good watchsmiths in Europe who could serve my reps, especially Asian 7750 movements, or even upgrade them, like superlume dials. I have collected for some years several chronographs with Asian 7750 because they are so lovely. I just need to found an experienced and trustworthy expert from Scandinavia, Germany, England…from Europe, who could serve/repair them. I am looking for a long-term relationship. I trust on your experience and connections – please, help me. Thanks
  11. I think Breitling models are the most interesting and most desirable reps/watches among us. I have PAM127 but it is too boring for my taste.
  12. We need several wrist shots from black bentley and white Bentley, please! I am suprised that there is not greater hype about this rep. I think the Bentley is the most interesting and most elegant big watch of this year.
  13. Actually, the reflectance spectra of rhodium, typically plated over white gold due its hardness, and common polished SS are very close each other, which causes that they look quite similar. The weight of 18 kt gold alloy is the main difference, almost everything else is hard to testify only with our electromagnetic sense (not a spectroscopical instrument).
