  1. I was questioning the alignment of the Swiss Made on that last pic shown above.

Yikes, I didnt even see that :bangin:

On one of the pics "Swiss Made" is sitting on just 3 hash marks, on the next pic its on 5 individual hash marks...

I guess it just goes to show that any rep Sub can be called out as a rep if you look long enough, or know what to look for - in my view they all start to look the same after a while...

  2. In all fairness I dont think the guy inspected the watch that closely in a mens washroom :) Maybe just looked at it for 4 or 5 seconds (at the most) and said "Hey - thats a nice watch, Ive got the same one" sort of thing...

I dont mean to take away anything from the rep, it is a beautiful watch...and if one has no reason to assume its fake, youd assume its a gen right right away.

  3. I tried FedEx ground but I have to declare value and he has to use a broker, etc.

Should I just send by EMS through the USPS?

FedEx priority international is like $25+ to avoid duties and a broker.

It depends on the value of the watch, but I think regular USPS, EMS is good.

I live in Canada and USPS boxes get through to me fine. Usually the post man just leaves it on my door step, so I dont have to pay any extra fees at all...

  4. thanks, i wonder if the solid 18K president bracelets do that?

Well in time everything stretches, even Oysters if its your daily wearer for 15 years, etc.

But the jubilees are the worst - Pres, I havent heard to much about...

The DayDate (President) you can only buy in Plat or Gold, so most peolpe dont wear them as a beater watches, or wear them every single day, hence not as many stories about streching...

  5. its because 18K is soft right? so i assume this happens with gen also?

Yep it happens on the geniune jubilee bracelets, just due to method of construction and wear. Stainless, or tt, same thing - after wearing for a few years they just stretch....

Some people save their Rolex gen bracelets and wear aftermarket bracelets to keep the gen bracelet in mint shape... :) And aftermarket oysters are pretty excellent for their price, I suppose its the same with jubilees...

  6. Respect goes both ways, you need a good seller for sure, but the seller also needs a good honest buyer.

I bought $275 Sub, 1st watch was halted, the second watch turned out to be the wrong version so I spent $20 on postage and packaging to send it back, now the dealer cant really find me another copy. So I said keep $80 for yourself to cover your time and dont send me any watch...decent thing to do, not really out of the ordinary.

Do most buyers here really screw over dealers that much, maybe its the rep buyers mentality in general, but with 5 years ++ on other boards I never read about dealers complaining about how shitty their clients are, etc... ???

  7. Thanks By-Tor for the thoughtful and informative contribution as always. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I wait till the TW Classic gets here, try it on for a while and see how I like it. Maybe put it up for sale if I dont wear it and get one of those awesome new blue Panerai GMTs...

    Best regards

  8. Hi By-Tor,

Ive order an EddieLee TW Classic with the Lug Holes, do you think it is nice watch ? - just asking because I havent received it yet.

    Because you wrote:

Too bad the old "TW best" (that apparently George is selling too, and calling it "MBW") has awful dial, horrible crown guards and "jumbo" crown which completely ruin the watch. Don't waste your money on the outdated rep.

    Then you wrote

If I had to choose I'd still take the EL version any day over it.

So if you could clarfiy Id appreciate it...

    Many Thankts.

I think these pictures tell it all. First pic was posted by my friend Davey way over a year ago.

On the left: CN case. On the right: "TW Best" case.

    Below: Genuine Submariner.

Besides the "rehaut depth" just notice how the inner ring is very metallic and smooth when it meets the crystal (in both TW version and genuine). In all CN versions the rehaut looks like it's made of two different parts... you know, where the crystal merges with the case. It's not smooth and straight and the inner ring looks "matte". It looks almost like there's a white seal ring, made of plastic (which is just the crystal edge). This is the easiest "fake spotter" in all Submariner reps.

They have improved the Sub in many ways in last 15 months but the old TW version (and the new MBW version that Luckyyy was selling) are still the only ones where the crystal/case looks almost correct. Too bad the old "TW best" (that apparently George is selling too, and calling it "MBW") has awful dial, horrible crown guards and "jumbo" crown which completely ruin the watch. Don't waste your money on the outdated rep. If I had to choose I'd still take the EL version any day over it.

    Hope this helps. ;)
