  1. I was called out on my gen Seiko, LOL. (skx007k) Some moron thought it was a fake Rolex I told him, no - its a Seiko. Then he told me that Seiko copied the Rolex divers watch. So what can I say to that ?
  2. Santa Claus called...............................He wants his watch back.
  3. Man I hope that site comes back up soon, I have to email TTK to get his noob-mariner and its not listed on this site
  4. Very nice watch - is it based on a gen ? Ive never seen this one before... And is that supposed to be a serial number at 6 o'clock, I guess Im really out of the Rolex loop
  5. Omega is making a new Gen Bond SMP. It looks the same, but just has red text on the dial, so people are hoping for reps soon ! It should be easy to rep since all it needs is a new dial on the old rep case...
  6. Is the gold bezel solid gold ? Just thinking about if the bezel plating would wear over time...since that area would probably get touched or handled a bit... But you named the watch correct as Best Ultimate... Wow, it looks great...
  7. But not knowing is kind of fun, it means return here everyday, read peoples posts, look at nice rep pics, learn about watches you didnt know you liked until you saw their pictures a 1000x, yes the Panerai.
  8. I pretty much agree with what everyone said. Maybe with some watches there is one clear answer as to who has the best "insert watch name", not with the sub, or sd, etc... From my experience each vendor has a slightly different offering, some may offer better dial printing, crown guards, crowns, cyclops, the famous "rehaut", price points (The aspire sub is only $129 for an ETA), TTK is even less with Asian mvt, etc... So at least in theory you kind of have to pick which features are important to you. Everyone wants the "best" hence the questions of which sub is best on average combining eveything...I guess there is no clear winner or people would just tell you like MBW for vintage, thats a clear winner. Current subs I dont think there is a winner. Maybe the Eddie Lee TW Best versions. Id vote for that one, I could be wrong, or right, I dont know !!!
  9. Can you let me know who you mean by Jay ? I dont recall hearing that name before on this or the 2 other forums, thanks !
  10. Thats really was a great post, actually I wanted to ask something similar, but with all the jokes on "who has the best sub" I was kind of afraid to ask Copy->Paste into notepad and save as DaytonaRepMovt.txt Very valuable post, it should either be a sticky, post of the month, or archive for sure !
  11. I meant I am sorry that you are unhappy with your purchase, I wasnt being sarcastic. I hope you can work it out with the dealer amicably... In fact thats why I try to keep any rep purchase of mine under 200-300USD, so if worse comes to worse I can deal with the loss... But for $600 youd think the dealer would personally inspect the watch on your behalf before shipping it out...thats why the last TTK post was great, I didnt know he personally inspected each watch, that alone is an excellent service and would avoid a situation like yours maybe...still keeping in mind it is just a rep...
  12. Too bad on your purchase. You could always try to sell it for $300-400 or something so you only have a $300 loss versus $600... There is a richness to the tt sub which cant easily be copied, I hate the purple tint you mentioned on most reps..
  13. Congratulations and best wishes !!!!!!
  14. Wow congratulations - awesome watch ! Your sure have a nice PAM trio...
  15. Ive never bought a watch from Ruby, but she seems perfectly trust worthy and communicative to me... Sometimes thats all you want, someone to stay informed with you and let you know the status. Im sure the watches are difficult to get so from my view the dealer is doing a sort of favor by selling to me, and covering loss, etc...others have the view of a strict business transaction in a formal sense...it depends on your perspective. But I do hope the poster gets his first choice if watch, nothing worse than being shipped something you didnt want, no matter how small the differences...
  16. Maybe the rep factory is like IWC and have their own private version of COSC To the OP, if the case, dial, bracelet, etc on both watches are the same I would save $50 and get the cheaper movt, thats just me - because its still an ETA. But ask the dealer the specific differences and what has been done to the movt, or if there are any comments on accuracy, etc...otherwise between one being gold and engraved one being silver that alone is not really a difference to me other than visual...
  17. I doubt that the rep movt would be COSC, never heard of that in a rep before, for $50 extra Ask if you get the COSC papers... But $100 for an ETA Sub is about the lowest Ive seen. Depends on what the watch is like, I couldnt see your pictures or the links.
  18. Youre really lucky with bracelet that you had one in your supply box, it looks much better and fits the watch great. Its the little details that make or break a watch.
  19. Wow that really is an awesome rep - I love it. I think its 19mm tall right !! One of the tallest watches around for sure...but its a beauty.
  20. Thats a beautiful watch ! ...like the previous poster said, I also think the blue dial is great...and how do you like the bracelet ?
  21. I can say that this one is not a photoshop...they all look like real pictures to me...maybe his girlfriend is a model type photoshoot...
  22. I think one way - I dont know if it applies to your area - is to use a different name and mailing address - in case you are flagged... Too bad you lost your watches... It hurts to think of our nice reps being "destroyed."
  23. Say if you were dinged by customs for 115 USD on a 275 USD rep, is that a common thing...or a bit excessive... Just wondering how often this happens. Thanks.
  24. Hmm, I suppose they are the same watch I missed the point I guess...
