  1. Milguass orange markers glow blue on the gen too, I think its actually very cool. Although - the lume on the milgauss isnt noted for being very effective at all, B16a2's lume picture seems to show his rep lume brighter than any of the gen milgauss ive seen!

  2. and so it seems you did not have much trouble photographing this one.. Seriously J.. WOW @ the pictures. The bracelet Polished center links look like liquid metal!

As for the flaws; apparently this one has a wrongly sized lightening bolt second hand, and wrong thickness to the "MILGAUSS" font. Also I believe this is one of the models to suffer from the bad clasp engraving, although "embossed" it does not show black as per a genuine.

This is all pickyness of course, but worth mentioning. The engraving of model number that you mentioned is infact not engraved at all but simply a sticker, just their new version of the pointless holographic ones of old! :)

Glad to see your sapphire seems to be an actual green sapphire and not some work-around chinese solution and also the lume on yours looks AWESOME!

Nice review bro, I've given up making quips about your blossoming Rolex addiction.. its obvious to us all now :p

  3. BT, hope you can find your way through these directions: Run Avira in >>>EXPERT<<< mode, find the dialogue for 'Guard' then find 'Exceptions', enter the FULL path of the problematic program into the exceptions list. i.e. "C:\Windows\System32\Example.exe"

I think maybe you havn't got it running in expert mode, thats why you cant see exceptions.

edit: And you put it in expert mode by going to that 'configuration' button

  4. Excellent review J, and wonderful pictures as always. It does seem you are having more trouble capturing this in images than usual watches though.. is this correct?

I'm afraid once again I'm going to be skeptical and say I don't think you're going to keep this for all that long. As I read the review I just don't think its 'captured' you. I'm going to make a prediction and say this is just another step towards you aquiring a gen Rolex.. there.. I've said it. :)

  5. As always, checking the gen trading forums about 60 times a day and randomly decide to have a look at this deepsea advert:

Few issues; what the hell is going on with the pearl? Is it missing? What the hell is that?!

Secondly, err.. the bezel insert looks like a mess. The numbers and markers that are engraved into the bezel insert look an absolute disaster. Jagged, scrapped and uneven..

Anyone have anything to say about this?

  6. When I knew you were after one of these; I made it my personal little mission to aquire my own gen 116710 before you got yours, because you had other watches coming and going and the whole time my love and wants were fixated on the GMT IIc throughout ;)

Unfortunately, needless to say, I failed. Nor does it look like I'll have the gen in any sort of time scale I'd hoped for.

So I say; through gritted teeth, congratulations on your new purchase! I am truely, truely envious.

  7. 5 Weeks ago one of my friends was having fun and enjoying a holiday in Disneyworld, Florida. He went to the Universal studios, went on the rides, laughed with the guys, ate ribs & burgers.. he was completely fine in health, or so it seemed.

A little over 2 weeks ago he was taken into hospital, they quickly gave him Tamiflu, a medicine they use to combat Swine flu - I guess they figured since he'd been to the states and had some kind of illness that they'd just assume it was swine flu straight away..

On friday, he died. In about 3 weeks he'd gone from seeming perfectly healthy to his deathbed. He leaves a large business without a director, 2 sons without a father and a wife without a husband.

He had small cell cancer that he'd gotten almost certainly from the years of smoking he'd done in earlier years, he'd since given up but.. sometimes you're too late.

I don't have to conclude with any other kind of messages really; I just say to you huge congratulations for quitting, you've done extremely well so far and I hope you never look back.
