  1. Leave topswiss.co.uk alone. The watches are NOT sent from the UK, they are sent from the Philippines, my Wife bought me a watch from them for Christmas - sent from the the Philippines, no QC and got stung with VAT, Import Duty and Parcel force 'handling fee'. Guess what? topswiss didn't want to know. Some people might buy 50 watches and get all of them through Customs without a hitch, some don't - it's a lottery. PT is great, be fair to him and he'll be fair to you.
  2. Bottom line is that you won't be in trouble legaly, but you might be charged VAT, import duty and the Pracel Force 'handling fee'. I've fallen foul of this once before, got hit for over
  3. Within the EU goods do not have to be declared to Customs. However, Excise Duty must be paid on excisable goods such as alcohol, tobacco and energy products.l
  4. My advice is to mark the package as a 'GIFT' and mark the item's value below
  5. Hello all, I'm new to this excellent forum so forgive me if this question seems a bit daft. I'm curious if it's harder now to source good quality reps than it was say 3-5 years ago. Reason for my question is that I'm desperately trying source a good quality Omega Seamaster GMT (blue bezel) to replace one I was given for Christmas that was stolen and I'm having serious problems. I'm in the UK so I'm concerned about Customs, VAT etc as my wife got stung for over 50% of the cost of the watch she gave me for Christmas in Customs fees as the watch was sent from the Philippines rather than the UK as stated on the stores web site. Grateful if anyone would be kind enough to offer their opinion on this: OMEGA SEAMASTER GMT 2006-SWISS ETA 2836-2-25- I'd rather not have the clear back, but currently this seems to be the best I can find. Thank you all and I very much appreciate any advice that can be offered.
  6. I'll try to get some photos taken this weekend. Must say the knowledge on these forums is incredible - think I
  7. Happy New Year to you all. I received a replica Omega Seamaster GMT (Blue) as a Christmas present from my wife from topswiss.co.uk I did some basic research and decided I liked the GMT, the choice of vendor was derived from that I live in the UK, topswiss stated they were UK based, clearly stated no import duty and their prices were average for this watch. Well, the watch arrived in good time but had been despatched from the Philippines. The UK side of delivery was handled by Royal Mail's 'Parcel Force' and my wife got hit by VAT, import duty and a (not small) Parcel Force 'handling fee' which equated in total to almost 50% of what she paid for the watch - if only I'd found this site sooner....... Come Christmas Day I opened my present and to be fair I'm pleased. The watch suffers most of the usual inaccuracies (helium valve placing etc), but the band does have pins rather than screws. I'm very happy that my watch keeps good time, a 6 second per day gain. I hope to learn from this site how to look after my watch and perhaps in time improve it a little. I love my watch and can't stop looking at it to check if its stopped or a hand has fallen off I'm thinking that I should try and find a tool to remove the back and at least give the movement a clean and lubrication is case it's dirty and dry? I'm happy to post pictures of the watch if anyone is interested. B.T.W. topswiss.co.uk are no-more......
