vintage time pieces such as early model daytona's 6263/6265, 6536-6538 submariner-I would trade my house for one of these submariner's. I like a few modern mechanical wrist watches but I'll be most active in forums discussing rolex movt.'s and projects. I also like to avoid speeding ticket's. I have installed a laser diffuser or jammer with 2 modules concealed behind the front grill of my car for max (front) defense. I will need 2 more module lenses for the back for all around protection. BTW, I'm a lunatic.

  1. has not set their status

  2. I agree, I'm glad I started my passion for high end time pieces later in my years. I probally would be in a 12 step program
  3. Still needs more work but I decided to go with a genuine tropic 21 crystal and bezel insert along with polishing the case a little. CG's trimmed. The pearl is bothering me and the crown must be changed asap. The insert needs to be submerged and monitored in clorox and bezel teeth need to be polished. Tudor hands are in consideration but that doesn't bother me now. I wish I had more time take better pictures but I'm balancing a busy schedule.
  4. Then I would be moving something else around if you know what I mean.
  5. I operate a premium cigar business 7 days a week. I do not have time to research and gather information to initiate my project. I'm frustrated. BTW I'm not sitting on my pitty potty...it's just that instant gratification. Jokercat
  6. Thanks guys. Which original part would make the most difference if I only chose one? tub, crown T21 crystal, gen band, black bezel, hands. D. wong has these original parts but I don't know if I want to drop that much cash yet. what do you experts think about it? BTW, Do you think this model is aesthetically pleasing.
  7. Hi Reuzenkind, Ton's of information available here especially if you are in to vintage watches. Persoanlly I'm a rolex nut or maybe an addict. There's always the twelve steps.
  8. An acquaintance of mine needed some cash and I can't pass up a deal. Only downside is the cyclop. I don't know why he had his jeweler do this. I've tried acetone and steam and I can not slide it off. It keeps excellent time and the bracelet has a nice sheen. I experimented swapping bracelets with my retro gmt rep. Although it adds a nice touch it belongs on the original watch.
  9. Very interesting. Did rolex produce that white/black color pattern? I do not see too many members with fully built vj72 daytonas with that dial. Just suspicous J/C
  10. I have a movt. holder. I'll even throw in the vj23 mystery with a missing bridge and some screws! j/k-jokerkat seriously pm if interested
  11. Correct me if I am wrong but the newman series used straight pusher's through it's production run, right?. Not that it bothers me as I think it is quite fashionable and a turn from the ordinary.
  12. I absolutely love the coronet and positioning. Very slender, not bulky. Very nice time piece. BTW Did the movt. require servicing? JC
  13. Thanks, I use to deal with david wong a while back. I'm afraid to get back in touch because he's a little risky. I see these case sets on ebay going for about a grand. I understand his older version of cases, dials, hands, etc were a bit better than now. Is he still around?
  14. My knowledge on this particular model of the vj72 family series is poor. I understand it will sit well in 6263/6265 case with little or no dremel work. Any thoughts from the more knowledgeable? Thank me Jokercat
