  1. Bloody hell Pug! That is one good spot! Its all in the little details I suppose. One more note to add, cheers.
  2. Thanks fine. Im working my way through The Zigmeisters excellent posts. I was also planning on replacing the dial with a gen dial. Im guessing this will negate the need to swap bits over from the Asian? (Sorry for hijacking the thread a bit).
  3. Mmm, this is getting fun! Good lessons on recognition of movements. All good stuff. Forgive my ignorance, Pug you mentioned you could see the ETA logo under the escapement. Can you point me in the right direction please? (Still learning ) Also, with regard to replacing the rotor, where would be the best place to source a Breitling rotor correct for a Navi? With the gen 7753 movement, would I be correct in thinking this will drop straight into a Navi with 3-6-9?
  4. I thought thats what you meant. It just read as if you were madder than McMad from McMadsville, Morayshire.
  5. And this one. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...me=STRK:MEWA:IT Price seems more in keeping with a gen. From my limited knowledge gained on here (thanks to The Zigmeister), it looks like a gen too (7753).
  6. Lol. Makes sense. English. A language seperating the British and the Americans.
  7. May sound like a daft question but why would you want to swap a Swiss for an Asian? Seems to me like swapping an Aston Martin V8 for a Tatra truck motor.
  8. A kilo of Titanium weighs a lot less than a kilo of steel.
  9. As with most Ti rep or genuine, people immiediately think they are fake due to the lack of weight. A friend has a genuine Aerospace Ti and quite a few people who know very little about watches (and some who know quite a bit) initially say its fake because they expect a Breitling to weigh the same as a small car.
  10. The strap arrived this morning and I couldnt wait to fit it. It's really comfortable and I think it looks great.
  11. I would say artm3 and speedy1s are genuine due to the subdial spacing. If not, tell me where you got them!
  12. Until a movement comes along that addresses the subdial issue, thats about it. Anything coming along?
  13. Lovely watch. Always a classic and that one is as near as that is available at the moment. Does a genuine case back fit this one? I would like to put one of these on if and when I get one. A gen bezel would cure the lack of accent grave. Again, would it fit on this? And the same again for the hesalite crystal (I know the pukka Moon watch didnt use sapphire due to its properties under pressure).
  14. Well, I bought the strap in the picture. Got it for £110 ($200/EUR 160). Its brand new and I'll post some pics when I fit it to the Navi. Thanks again for all your advice.
  15. As will some 100k+ cars..............
  16. My point exactly. For some, its fashion, for others its an attempt to be a 'class' above their actual station. For me its akin to collecting model cars or camera lenses. I like em and most people will never see them. Each to their own I suppose.
  17. My thoughts on the matter for what they are worth. I dont give a toss what people think. I buy reps because I like them. I enjoy intricate pieces of engineering and prefer to spend my hard earned money on other things (like an Overfinched Range Rover ). I dont try and bluff that they are real and really dont care what others think. If anyone ever did ask, I would tell them its a rep, no doubt. I dont feel I need to 'pretend' or bluff. I hope my personality will allow people to judge me. My dad once told me the real sign of style and class (neither can be bought) was shoes and watch. Any [censored] can buy and wear an Armarni suit and drive a 'flash' motor but the real sign of a gent was wrist and feet. I enjoy wearing classy footwear (the wife calls me Imelda) and I enjoy wearing a nice timepiece on my wrist.......for me and no one else. It makes me feel good. End of story really!
  18. That has got to be the most minging watch I have ever seen. ...except for this; wtf is that all about? A 'spinner' watch????
  19. Genuine? Another bone question. It will fit a 22mm Navi? (Im guessing the 22-20 is the width range?) Thanks. PS If genuine, whats the most you would pay for it?
  20. Same here. Have spent many a happy hour (and some not so happy) flying the Sioux.
  21. Thanks, Rolexman. Im happy to pay that for an original. Sorry to be a further pain, any sources for the genuine?
  22. Thats great thanks Richard. Didnt even know those links existed! Andreww, thanks for the heads up. Do you know if the dealers mentioned could fit a 'Breitling' clasp or buckle?
  23. Can you elaborate a bit please? I have no clue when it comes to straps so a bit of spoon feeding may be needed.
  24. A couple of questions regarding Breitling Straps. Navitimer in particular (22mm). Whats the average retail for an original? (Deployment & Buckle). Leather, Croc or any other dead animal. Where can they be sourced from? Ive seen a few on EBay claiming to be 'original Breitling' going for about £20 ($37). How can you tell the difference between rep and original? Any key signs? Many thanks chaps.
