  1. i plan on getting a gen crown, should i wait till i have it in hand or will the rep crown (all be it bigger) be ok to use for visuals? are there tutorials showing how to swap out a crown? or is it something only a modder can do?how do you do your mods diz? little by little (id probably have most work done by someone) or do you acquire all parts and do the mods in one big bang? i have thiught of buying a vintage sub or something else to make a learning project. or should i buy a homage and practice on that?
  2. I need to do the research and search for some tutorials I know but how hard is this for a noob like myself to do? I have opened up a couple casebacks but that's been it. I'd like to be a little more hands on with my reps yet I don't want to F-things up? Can someone give me a quick guide to the CG mod? if some kind soul woild be kind enough to post a couple pics of the end result i woild be thankful.
  3. I think a lot of ADs are hurting (internet and economy) and are in the same boat as car dealers to a degree. They need to make money somehow and a little fib to them isn't a big deal. They dont know when the watch was last serviced so they "error" on the side of caution. That might be one rational.
  4. In the USA, what channel is the US version on?Sorry, found it. I searched last week and found nadda. FYI, it's on The History Channel.
  5. I find that unscrewing and screwing down the pusher locks to be annoying. I like some watches but would never consider buying them due to screwdown pushers. Can the be removed so I wouldn't have to consistantly unscrew them to use? Can they be replaced with different pushers and are modders on the forum capable of doing this?
  6. I am not worried about water resistance, more about ease of use with the chronograph.
  7. My guess is it needs to be serviced. I know our rep movts come in shooty condition, is this out of the norm? I don have a problem when wearing on my wrist. Does the movt only wind in one direction? I have other watches that wind in one direction only but dont have power reserve issues. I has the Swiss 2846 movt. Any advice is appreciated.
  8. I like your sig. Is it the e65062?

  9. Yep, I do that. To be honest with you, 20% it works, I just tried it and got lucky.
  10. you are talking about unlocking. That, the carrier will not do nor are they legally obligated to. Jailbreaking is for the iPhone and being legal does nothing. Apple was never going to sue, besides they try to thwart jailbreaking with every update.
  11. Looking at subs too but the glide lock scares me. I had a DSSD and it was just too big for my wrist.
  12. Can someone give me a quick rundown? Looking at trusty's site and see one with a riveted bracelet. How do you adjust? What are the model number progression of the GMT?
  13. might be a winner once their market matures and if they allow a form of jailbreaking.
  14. Kinda like the tile bits but no and never. If it is anything like their OS I'll pass. Give it 2 years and it might be there. Android better step it up or I'm back to the iPhone.
  15. DiNozzo is wearing a 16600, thought he was sporting a PO for awhile
  16. DSSD really has no dome, maybe a 1mm. I had one and didnt like it. It was too top heavy and bulky, I have a 6.5" wrist. If you have a larger wrist it might work for you. It doesnt work too well under the shirt sleeve. I loved the glidelock but once again my wrists are too small, it just didnt sit well on MY wrist. I have a Slevin, cousin to the Cousteau. I love it. 42mm is perfect on my wrist and very functional. The internal bezel is a pain to move but it adds to the look of the watch. Both are durable. I worked retail and both held up very well. Stuff to think about.... Decide if you want a Diver or Chronograph The DSSD is the hot watch at the moment. If you are trendy go for that. if you like to be different go IWC. Do you care about "pulling a watch off" if you do go for the IWC. The IWC looks good on a bracelet and a rubber strap, gives you a little variety. The IWC is a lot more functional: Bezel, chrono, day, date. The chronograph movt wont last too long and really should be serviced as soon as possible to increase the longevity of the watch. Expect $225 to cover that. Good luck with your decision. Keep us posted and post pics of your purchase.
  17. I have a gen Fortis B-42 chrono in SS that i love but its too heavy. It meets all of my criteria for a watch except its SS and not ti. I like having at least one gen chrono in the herd but.... The only watches I could replace it with are a little hard to come by and Im not in a position to go for at the moment. Been thinking bout selling and fixing a couple reps I have and working on my 1665 project. maybe pick up one more rep. I just cant decide. Maybe hold the funds and get lucky. One of my grails is for sale, it makes me think.
  18. Sorry to hear the bad news, you have my thoughts and prayers.
  19. I here yeah, but the bezel markings dont line up 100%. Would any Sub or Sea Dweller work?
  20. For Trade: Tag Heuer hat, black, adjustable Looking to trade for a Breitling or Omega baseball cap.

  22. The bezel insert is off. Will it take a gen or is there another rep insert that will work?
