  1. Have been wearing the Slevin that I received through a trade last summer quite frequently, but now the pin which connects the bracelet with the case has been broken :-(

who can source me a fresh new pin?

BTW; Merry X-mass to you all and look forward to a smashing 2011!

Hopefully a fellow member has one for you, try placing a WTB. The next time you buy a rep enquire with the dealer if they sell them and include it with that order. I was under the impression dealers dont like selling and shipping parts. PT is a dealer i would check, good luck!

  2. What pretties are these crowns going onto? Just note that you may have to countersink and retap your case. Then you may have to shorten your stem just a hair too.

If you want to sell one to recoup your costs, PM me :)

Hmmmm, I being a noob when it comes to modding I thought it was a more straight forward mode. I do plan on selling one of the two.

  3. 944 is a great car. Turbo version is a bad ass vehicle, and highly underrated very fast car which handles great. But for me the 928 GTS is simply the coolest car ever made. I have dreamed about one since I was a teenager.

The lines of 944 are a bit dated (imho) but the 928 will always look absolutely timeless.

PS: Sorry people for takin' this offtopic. :)

+1 I agree, the 928 S4 is sexy, especially with the fat boys on back. I miss my 944 Turbo S, She was a rocket! As well as a sieve.

  4. I've had mine since 2004. Love it!

Old thread but I'll take a stab. If anyone knows where I could get a genuine elephant skin wallet or credit card wallet PM me. I've had mine for over 15 years and still going strong. I think they went on the endangered species list shortly after I bought mine. I returned the wallet because the stitching came undone (kicking myself for doing that). Something about having something no one else can get. :good:

  5. Fast shipping from the bay! They look good and now I think I will search for the DIY crown swap mod and give it a go. Not sure I would call it a mod but opening the caseback is the extent of my attempts.

Worst case is I send the uncompleted job in when she goes in for servcing.

  6. I would rather put it this way, even if i can get the same product from shop A as shop B but shop B costa a little more but i have always got good service from there and i know the owner then shop B will always get my custom.

I have bought from Ken, it is a loverly suit that gets worn quite a bit and it is now over 3 years old and still as good as the day i got it. That to me is a good product, I dont need a new suit yet but when i do i know where i am getting it from.

Well put, one must factor the known (Ken's quality and service) into the equation. as a longtime member who has looked around and bought and sold (online and locally) rep goods Ken is who i will turn to when my gf sees an overpriced gen LV handbag she says she must have.

  7. i see this rolex noobfactory in very special price-promotion!!!!opinions?????

I bought a couple last week to test the waters on a couples models. One to wear (Sub) while my 1665 goes in for servicing and an Exp II to see I i like it on my wrist as much as I do in my dreams. My most trouble free and accurate rep was a Narikka PO that was spot on for time. I swear it ran COSC time. I figure it is a great way to learn about modding. Might try sanding down the bezel inserts, swap a movement, etc...

  8. Sorry to bring back this quite old thread, but I just could not resist: I understand you guys dont like WUS. What I dont understand is your strong urge to spit on it here, in a place where they cant defend themselves. I am a member of WUS, RWG, RWI, Repgeek and other watch forums. All have their own qualities and all deserve a respect for what they provide: great resources of informations about watches. WUS is perfect place to learn about many brands you guys never mention here, like Steinhart, Laco, Orient, Prometheus, and if you like, MQJ and how to mod this chinese 16usd miracle, for example.

Just because you guys dont respect their rules, doesnt mean the forum is not good...

    Just my 2cents...

I have no problem with the members and sub-fora at WUS. It is the Administration teams that has castrated the forum. Watchers invoke passion and when won cant be passionate and have an opinion about a hobby I love then why spend time their. WUS is run as a business, toe THEIR line, and dont dare question them. Sorry mate that doesn't fly in my book.

Well mate you can't defend yourself on WUS. They treat you like a little child. I asked a question, post was deleted (they wouldn't admit doing so), asked again, post deleted, asked again and I was put on temp. leave with no reason why. When I asked about my ban they said you are now banned. They finally answered me at the very end. If they simply would have done so when I first asked I would of been happy. Totalitarianism just doesn't sit well with me and my personality. Dont expect for me respond "How high?" when you say "Jump"

What sub-fora do they talk about modding chinese movts? I'd like to take a look. Not sure why you brands aren't discussed here. Could be they are in the price point of the reps we buy. Whether we admit it or not I think a lot of people would rather have a watch with brand recognition (we are only human). IWC, Rolex, Panerai or Orient, Prometheus, or Steinhart, take your pic. There is much debate about this on here I would suggest searching and reading if you like. Many, like myself enjoy the fact I can spend a couple hundred dollars and get a "Rolex" that has 90% the look of the real deal without paying the mark-up. I buy value and I don't find much value in the gen market. Add to that the ability to mod the watch with gen parts to create something that you spent time and money on. It is very rewarding. Don't get me wrong, I love gens but all you can say is: "I bought a gen Omega" "Wow, great watch, wear it well". Here it a journey shared by like-minded folks in pursuit of the "perfect rep" and all the fun, misery, mistakes that go along with it.

So in the end: [censored] WUS! :gun2::ninjastar:

So come, stay awhile, enjoy the freedom you have here. Visit WUS where you can enjoy :shutup2:
