Thanks for the info DS. I've been tinkering around with my clasp to see what I could accomplish but have not been satisfied yet. Now I just have to get my hands on these compounds Looking forward to the detailed guide!

Very nice indeed! A little dusty on the lugs though

...can't say much more than that! Quite a collection...very cool. Plastic protector still on the crystals even.

Not gonna happen guys...
The best alternative is organize a massive groupbuy and put pressure on the dealer to lower his price. Use money saved to mod whatever features that bugs you.
Yup...second that

a watch can totally change a life; whether it be timing a pulse, timing a resuscitation, or timing the thrusters on the apollo 13 spacecraft in order to return home safely. a watch can also determine the time of death...and that surely changes lives.
Deep!
A watch can change a life for sure...in even simpler ways. Just like on makeover shows where people feel better about themselves after getting fixed up a bit. A watch can make you feel more important, stronger, daper or whatever. It's all in the attitude and a watch can bring that if that is where your passion lies.

Had mine for about two weeks and have worn it every day. Love it!!!! Before I bought it I tried on the gen at an AD and this thing is damn close. Mine has the ETA 2824-2 in it and is keeping great time (about +3 per day). Regardless of the movement this watch looks great...very distinctive. Scoop one up my freind! you won't be sorry!

I'm with you Newdoc! I've had my SOH for about 2 weeks and they are really starting to bug me. I knew about them being off before I bought it and thought I could deal but.....Im starting to think about sending to The Zigmeister. Still on the fence. This is my first rep and the rest seems awsome so the dots really stand out for me.

Very cool! Well done.

Beautiful! Best "B" there is! That version with the tick marks instead of the numerals is so classy. Wear it well.

Welcome from London Ontario!! Great place to learn everything about watches...and more. Enjoy!

Looks great!
How'd the fit up of the dial go? I thought the depth of the gen vs rep dial was different.

Great review...well done!
Colt looks nice IMHO. Inspite of the discrepancies this rep looks good especially for the price.

She's a beauty for sure! Congrats! I so have to get one of these...

Wrong. The gen makers are very disturbed by the profits - real or imagined - they lose to reps.
I can't imagine that they are actually concerned about sales impact from the rep market. If the reps were not available those sales would not be 1:1 for gens. Most of us looking at or purchasing reps are doing so because the gens price range is a little out of reach (of course I can't speak for everyone but if I were wealthy I wouldn't think twice about buying a gen). I would suspect that their concern would be more of impact to brand reputation...if someone bought a poor quality rep and didn't know it then one customer out there would be unhappy and this can expand quickly.
I have learned so much more on this site than tz.Long live rwg and it's members!
I too frequent both (as well as others) and I must say the technical knowledge here is outstanding. I have learned so much about watches, regardless of gen or rep. Just awesome!!!

Superocean Heritage - loose bezel?

Sorry to revive an old subject but I was wondering if anyone has managed to get the bezel off an SOH? Mine is not lining up correctly and I wanted to get in there to "see what I can see" but don't want to risk damage by using to much force.
Overall the bezel on mine is a little odd. Curious to know if others are the same. Started out that the triangular mark on the bezel would not line up at 12. It lands either a little ahead or a little behind of 12 from one click to the next. To see if I could figure out where the discrepancy was I looked at other alignment cues on the outside of the watch. The insert seems aligned with the bezel OK (ticks at 5, 15, 25, 35, 45 55 are pretty much in line with the screws around the outside of the bezel). I also noticed that from one click to the next the screws were not centered between the lugs (same issue as at 12). This led me to believe that the mechanism may need "adjustment". Then while rotating the bezel all the way around I noticed that the triangle mark lands perfectly at 15 and 45 positions but not 12 and 6. So then I counted the number of clicks...only 110. Odd number. Anyone else have an SOH like this?
