ahh - the Master of Submariners is back

its the 115$ Datejust from Silix put in a 30 year old Rolex-case with

a new crown. (+ cheap steel bezel and aftermarked plexi)

i wanted to put a gen dial - but the rep-dial is good enough for me.

i will get a new bracelet later - the silix on is very low quality and

the end links don't really fit the gen case.

all in around 250 $ and a lot of fun collecting the parts

was pretty easy to build - as i took most of the parts from a silix-Datejust.

im very happy with my el-cheapo-Franken ...

i glued the HE in -

greased the O-Ring -

and tested it before in warm water - no bubbles - ok

just had a little holiday at the sea -

tried to beat my PO up - but no, it survived everything

its waterproof and lost only 5 secs in 10 action-days

got a DJ from Silix + a gen case from ebay (75 $ + 115 $ + shipping) -

its an easy swap (movement and dial) - the gen bezel fits perfect

I have a friend in Bangkok who can go there and buy me a watch.. but what's so special about them to ask him a favour?

I have no idea about Rolex and I don;t see any difference than the normal ETA versions.. Is the best part that they accept genuine stuff?

sure watches are cheaper in asia - but im a happy camper getting my Asia or Whatever Best for 300 Euro safe and sound in Europe without any worries .

why nobody cares that the chronos in asia less than 150 $ - and some dealer sell them for the double price ?

same to me - but the dealer do riscy illegal business - im mostly enjoying my watch

or like on some gens the tritium is lighter on the hands.

i have the some watch - must be from the same factory like the ultimate PO -

same quality - i love them both

but to my surprise i wear the chrono more often - strange, but

with Omegas i don't care about flaws

i thing the rep looks even better than the gen - i like the wider spacing

of the subdials .
