I make my own damascus buckle! what you see in the picture is the prototype As you will see from the pictures I have preferred the use of spring bars instead of the screw to simulate the buckle sewn (I really like the look of the old straps ..) and give the possibility to replace it and use it on each strap. now I need your help and ask all your advice, what do you think? here are some questions: - "Could be successful in the production quantities?" - "You would use to you?" - "What would you change from an aesthetic point of view?" - "What do you think the use of spring bars?" thanks in advance for all your responses. here are the pictures: ..and this is the result of much work..... particular of the holes for the spring bars measures: and here it is mounted in some straps... thanks for looking! P.S. sorry for my english......... :undecided: my only help is google traslator:D

  5. Hi Peter, certainly agree that the buckles! especially if they are PreV, but really mean? I use the leather, are usually very good in soft Italian leather calfskin, but I also use different vintage leather that I'm going to buy from flea markets, jackets, old bags, pouches for ammunition, and all I can find ..... the edges to make use of methods that my father taught me and then use the appropriate products.;-)

  14. Hello everyone, Today I made this strap from a belt of ammunition carries a really old, found in a Charity shop, you had to see what condition it was before cleaning it with a little cream made with beeswax. Introducing the result: What do you think? ciao a tutti
  15. Hello everyone, Today I want to show the last 2 straps that I realized: the first born is a strap for PAM by 44 mm. 24x24 125x75x4 initially wanted to sew, but then after it finished I thought I'd leave it without seams, in my opinion has a vintage air more .... what do you think? the second is 24x24 125x75x4 but damn! I wanted to do it with crocodile or alligator, but unfortunately here in Italy is not, so I had to make use of a snake skin print, and the result is quite satisfactory, and according to you? Thanks to all regards
  16. Hello everyone, I state that I am not a strapmaker professional, I do just for fun and profit by selling us some strap something to buy some reps. I created these two straps, and I want to share with you all the solution to the problem of screws meanders Radiomir. I believe that all or nearly all the holders of the reps of the Radiomir happened to have problems with screws span or not unscrew or maybe he lost while trying to change the strap, now with this solution I have solved my problem. Here are the photos unfortunately not beautiful, sorry! Here is one of the rivets with a removable strap that allows the insertion directly into loops and easy assembly and disassembly. What you have just seen is the realization with a riveting sight, but then I asked: "... and if the visible rivets do not like? so I made another model with rivets retractable perhaps better suited to be mounted on a black seal, but this is my opinion ...... then tell you your! Here are the photos (the quality does not change, unfortunately!) I hope this thread may have been helpful and has suggested an idea to those who want a strap, or more than one, and also have the option to change it at will when you consider should not be afraid to lose screws or stuck etc ...... Maybe I have not discovered anything new, but still wanted to share it with you all.... Thank you for your vision to the next!

  18. Hello everyone, since it is the first time I build a vintage ammo strap I would like to know the opinion of most experts, is a 24x24 120x75x4 mm.I did it thinking about my PAM111h. was made using the skin of an old bag. you like? thanks
  19. This is my new PAM183H received a few days ago, now wears a new strap that once why I did that with which he arrived was really bad! I did a 26/24 because I think it is the right proportion for the Radiomir. What say? I do not think the glass is sapphire and has no HR, and maybe it's better this way, the movement is good and keeps time for 48 h tested, the light is not very strong but for now I'm satisfied. the case and crown are ok, the only discordant note was the locking bolts of a portion only of loops that were ruined by the hour 12.00, now waiting by the seller of new screws to replace and I will try to block better loops. sorry for the pics thanks. regards Spiderman
