  1. I have not been on this forum in a long time but i like to share info with all other watch enthusiasts so im posting this here for all to see.

This is a complete tutorial of how to install a DG4813 fast beat 28,800bph movement into a basic Asian 21J slow beat 21,600bph noob rolex Seadweller and thought it would be a good idea to do a video instead of pics. I know member 'Toadtorrent' has done a Redux of my pictorial but i have changed the way i do a few things as i have done this many times and have encountered a few problems by using my older method. This method is much easier and i have had zero problems/issues doing it this way. The video file has been converted to .flv so that its smaller file size and easy to upload. Due to this the pic quality is not great but ok.

I also apologize for the quality of the video as it was done using my Point and shot Casio digital camera using the movie mode. I did my best with what i had!

PLEASE NOTE: This is just my method and not necessarily the best method. I have no formal skills in watch making etc, its just my hobby and i have learned a lot along the way and am still learning!

    Enjoy

  2. I know that you're not too concerned about these things... but yours had a better pearl out-of-the-box, right?

Yes my pearl was better than that, it seems the pearl on that watch lacks a lot of lume, only the center has lume.

  3. FOR YOUR INFORMATION, THE SELLER REPLIED TO MY QUESTION WHETHER 2836-2 IS READY TO TAKE THE 4TH (GMT) HAND. SURE WOULD BE INTERESTING IF SOMEONE WOULD VERIFY WHETHER HIS INFORMATION IS CORRECT OR NOT:

    Dear...

Yes,it is ready to take 4th hand.

    No need additional parts.

    Thanks ....

    - bandmaniac007

Did this answer your question? If not, let the seller know.

    Item and user details

Item Title: ETA 2836-2 Genuine automatic swiss movement

    Item Number: 250326021530

    Item URL: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=250326021530

NO no no, the movement in the eBay link is an standard ETA 2836, it will NOT be 'ready' for a GMT hand

The seller is either telling a lie or he doesnt know what hes talking about

  4. Ah No its not just plug and play, this is not a usb we are talking about.

The 2836 GMT movement has been modified and a extra few gears have been added.

EDIT: I realize that you have asked about ETA 2893-2, thats a GMT movement but quite rare at the moment!

  5. I have a skinny wrists, for me is very good

The gen ceramic $ 500/600 is very accurate, the $ 200 no.

The new ceramic and gold is very bad, in my opinion

The white version is good in summer nights at the sea, not good if you have your holydays in mountains

    What a load of tripe

The $500/$600 models look exaclty the same as the link i provided. I have been told from Lawrence that its full ceramic and the one i got is full ceramic.

I wouldnt bother spending the extra $400+ for a so called ultimate.

As to the OP original question

Yes Rasta go for it and i recommend Lawrence, he will sort you out and has very good prices!

  6. I bought the White J12 for a friend and it was really really nice, i was surprised.

It was the full ceramic quartz version at it was a steal at $140! Yes you heard me Full ceramic at $140.

Enough with the cartel pricing its a rip off for some stuff!

I got it from Lawrence at HERE

  7. Yes i removed the pearl but i didnt sand it.

I have tried sanding in the past and it takes a long time and is difficult to do and can remove skin from your fingers.

I use a small file and turn the bezel insert upside down and file away until the black paint/coating comes off and then rotate the insert and file again. Simple and much faster then sanding!

  8. I didnt put in a WM pearl, personally i dont care about pearls anymore. I really dont give a shitte if someone says its a fake, why your pearl is wrong, yeah right when is that going to happen?

As for the CG's, see the post above! I simply dont care anymore. I used to be so anal about all that stuff, now i simply dont care and just want to do a few mods so that im satisfied and thats all that matters.

For $98 i just want to basically forget about it and just wear and enjoy it

  9. Here you go http://www.tt88time.com/index.php?main_pag...roducts_id=3345

@Gadet man, you wont be able to put in an ETA movement as the hand sizes are different.

On my SSD Lite i have removed the bezel insert, filed it down so it sits better on the bezel and also have modded the pearl. The bracelet has also been oiled and feels great.

The final mod will be putting in a DG4813 movement as it beats at 28,800bph as pr the gen and that will be a tutorial that ill post on the forum. I believe that Toadtorrent has done a redux of my previous tutorial but there are a few flaws in that one so ill clear that up in the new one!

  10. Here are the pics, awful ones, i was experimenting with a crap lightbox style setup.

Anyway, i think its good, same as the swiss except with asian movement.

This is my first seadweller and i have noticed that the bracelet sides are polished and much thinner that sub bracelets, is this normal?

    What do you think?
