  1. You're looking at 80 to 120 usd each for a nice service of these normal non-chrono movements. Look at it this way ... if they were genuine, you'd have to pay 500 to 750 each for the exact same service. You forgot to mention where in the World you live, so we can point you to the closest repair people.
  2. The luminous markers on B&R replicas are almost always utter crap. You need to send it out to be re-lumed by a trusted professional. So don't worry, you did not receive a "bad one" .. they are almost always that bad.
  3. Urrrgh ... It'll all be gone when I get there. Lemme go see ..... Sorry about your account and such
  4. I believe I read every post on this forum, almost every day, and then I miss something SO good, like this post, and I am at a loss. Thank you for the awesome "craftsmanship" / "technical" post, Zig. These are always welcome, and can inspire others to do more than they do or feel they can do.
  5. Five days via EMS is a repeatable timeframe .. it's what I've come to expect from dealers who tell the truth about when they send out your watch.
  6. I've had more crown tubes and keyless works go to hell than barrels But to be fair, if you leave a watch on the winder long enough you are going to want to correct the time when you finally wear it, anyway. So you'd use the crown and work all those parts.
  7. And the watches have yet to be revealed ... so small they are ... hard to see
  8. The way I understand it, Tapatalk only knows which posts you have viewed while using Tapatalk. If you switch back and forth between web browser and Tapa, then Tapa will not know which articles are genuinely "new" to you. I do use it to quickly see which articles I have participated in have received new replies.
  9. From the videos, it is clear to me what a co-axial escapement is ... but why it better?
  10. Or if that's too bling and perhaps unbelievable, why not a vintage GMT .. pepsi/coke/black bezel ... have it serviced and lumed for her, as an added touch.
  11. Is there a palpable difference between buying a pack of emery boards and wrapping sandpaper around a stick? It seems to me that the board is easier to control as it's a cohesive unit, and not ... paper wrapped on a stick.
  12. The China "Asia 21j" (4813 and 2813) are copies of the Japanese Miyota series from Citizen Watch Company ... the Chinese actually improved the mechanism by adding a HACK function. If you buy a true Miyota, be aware that it can not hack your seconds hand.
  13. susanm - it takes guts to come back and admit your error. I'm sorry you were taken advantage of. I hope the watches are otherwise good stuff, and your watch technician was able to service them, and make them run perfectly for you.
  14. Yes, that is the one. Na Piek is the stall, and it is on the first floor .. the thing about buying rep watches in person is that the stall salesman/owner does not know you .. will not trust you .. and probably will not show you the "good stuff", which they always have hidden in the back somewhere. That's why all you see is crap when you go there.
  15. Thats a beautiful watch, but $500 for a quartz watch? I agree that for sanitary reasons, you want a rubber or SS band. NATO and leather are just germ/bacteria traps. Why not an A21j GMTIIc ? Solid GMT movement for your "military time" requirement, waterproof, and classy. She's a NURSE .. there's no way a mechanical movement is going to need manual winding when you are a nurse .. she must walk 10 miles a day. Heck, man, you could buy her seven a21j GMT IIc watches for the price of that Swatch.
  16. Welcome back .. I was wondering where you'd gone off to.
  17. This is why you use an emery board (nail file) .. it's stiff and will not mar the finishes on either side of the sharp edge.
  18. Times Shop is a trusted dealer on another watch Forum (RWI) .. and they have a good track record there. I can not vouch for their soft goods. TS is a trustable merchant but .. the shoes? No idea. Why goto another forum for soft goods, tho, when we have the king of all replica soft goods right here at Bergie's ? I have to warn you, tho, that he will not sell b-grade merchandise ... only the good stuff.
  19. MBK is the name of a shopping mall. It translates to English as "Mall of Everything" There is a market stall in MBK shopping mall which specializes in higher quality replicas. They do not have an Internet presence. You have to seek out a someone who makes trips to the MBK mall and picks from their stock for re-sale here. You can think of MBK as a factory, I suppose ... not a dealer. Certain dealers can supply you with an MBK watch or watch parts.
  20. Here's Dr Gran's tourby from Mary @ Watch International
  21. I thought you had linked a scam site when I saw they wanted $2500 for a Cartier rep, but then I noticed that those models had real solid gold components. I never even noticed these before.
  22. The latest version 45, and the latest version 42 are both excellent. Buy whichever you like best ... they are equally good!
  23. Metal bracelets are full of machine shop grit and metal particles when they arrive. If you clean it internally and then oil it, I promise it will feel great. Part of this hobby is do-it-yourself.
