  1. Yes that's the exact same window I saw when I tried to PM KB including the custom text in pink ... and when I hit "Send" .... nothing.
  2. Just tried shooting KB a note to thank him for setting up a new "luggage" area in his shop, and the SEND button simply refused to work. I canceled the note, and then maybe 20 seconds later a pop-up informed me that "MESSAGE SENT" ... so I have no idea what actually happened.
  3. Jkay

Thanks for opening up a new BAGS section. I look forward to poking thru it in the future.

  4. OOO I was gonna say shock spring release notches too!! Late to the party, as usual.
  5. It could be that your watch has little or no oil in it. This will make it run fast. Have it looked at after it's "settled" for a short time.
  6. I'd aim for a clone ETA movement in your UPO. They are virtually identical to the Swiss originals and less expensive. If you wear it for a couple of months and still feel it's a great watch, then have it serviced to ensure it's longevity.
  7. Replica revisions are not always from the same maker, and are referred to as version "Vxx" simply for the sake of clarity. So ... you have one factory making the original watch, and another designer/factory making the next version. You see? So revisions don't mean improvements in quality or accuracy. They just mean it's a new iteration of the watch. As for what forthcoming watch releases will improve upon existing models? No one can know except the designer/maker. It's all very secret. There are no "spy photos" of new models in the replica world. The rep makers just don't care for this kind of promotion. When it arrives, it arrives .. and it is what it is. They simply want you to buy a watch; it's not their aim or desire to create a perfect replica. Just one good enough to sell to you. One notable exception is "George" (WM9) .. he does, in fact, post preview images of developing projects in order to drum up pre-order sales .. people can place deposits with him to reserve early production units and lock in LARGE discounts over the final pricing. Sometimes over 1 YEAR in advance. But his factory does not represent the industry as a whole. To answer your last question, you can not really go wrong with a UPO or a "swiss" SOSF. You will be very pleased (barring unforeseen QC issues) and that's all anyone needs to say.
  8. BT: Perhaps the large polished numerals just don't translate in terrible dealer photos. I have to say that PC's and King's pics make me say but the lovely franken photos make me say
  9. The Collector's pics at the top of the page make this watch look like a zip loc bag full of crap. Your photos of the franken make it look like one million dollars. Bravo.
  10. Ok. That brought down the house .. perfect.
  11. Oh! I know PT's story and it's a tragic one. I just didn't know what he looked like. It's very decent of you to pay tribute by using his photo.
  12. There is a Free version for Read Only and a paid version with full posting access. Try before you Buy!!
  13. You can be blunt with me anytime, and there wouldn't be a need to apologize. Discussion is discussion. While obviously you are a student of finance and investment, I was simply speaking from experience. Altho I have never determined if the avatar you use is actually you, I assume it is, and can state that I was about your age when RR was President and it was obvious to me at the time, as it is now, that the (almost) All-Time low for US/Soviet relations he created drove a Global wave of fear and doubt which magnified the price of gold well out of step with reality. It's my opinion that the current "War" the US, and it's Allies are entangled in with nebulous global terror groups is doing the exact same thing. Sometimes it's not all the little issues but the major issue which shapes an outcome. If the oil is low in my car's engine, one of it's tires is a bit over-filled, it hasn't been washed in a week and half a Pop-Tart is on the floor in the back seat, I'm still fairly certain that it's wrecked because I hit a tree at 30MPH ..
  14. Hi CT ~ The NYCE lists the commodities price for gold in 2001 as ~$300 adjusted. That's the figure I was quoting. The Super-spike in gold prices Reagan created in the early 1980s with his anti-Soviet rhetoric faded and faded until it hit bottom in 2001. Gold prices are fear based.
  15. Those scratches are from the watch resting on it's own clasp when you are not wearing it. I have the same marks on mine. Look at the clasp and the case back and you'll see they look alike.
  16. The Cartier Pasha Seatimer is very well represented in it's latest form. The dial is rendered nicely and is 3-dimensional in it's construction as per the gen.
  17. The newest "mystery" Rolex DSSD available from a vendor not authorized on this board. I love my year-old DSSD and this newest iteration is just .... droool.
  18. Just be careful where ever you put your money, and beware Pump n Dump artists who will always try to unload what they have to You when they know it's already close to the top of it's market. This includes almost any media finance talking head. They are trying to pump something or decimate something (if they have shorts) All those TV commercials airing now shouting about owning gold ... it's not that they want to help you make your "Million" ... they simply have gold that they want to sell you. Probably bought from people unloading old wedding rings to "sell it for cash dot com" Gold was $1800 USD (adjusted) an ounce back in 1980, too .. guess what? It crashed right back down to $300 ... gold pricing reflects the fear in the global economy .. it's not a slow steady climb to the clouds. Who can predict future events? No one. Lovely coins, btw, Ubi.
  19. Watch Eden posted this exact watch the same day this thread was started ... in a white face tho. Maybe they can get black. As already noted, it's at the low range of replicas .. a $100 "special" with a very sunken date wheel.
  20. Brilliant! And artful pics to accompany, as usual.
  21. This is a huge step for a newbie. Huge. I assume you've serviced a few non-complicated movements in the past, for practice?
  22. That was a great read; thank you so much!
  23. I was referring to my own V5 .. that cleaning it took it from dark to bright silver. I wasn't talking about your watches at all. The Cape Cod cloth was black when I was done.
  24. I'm not qualified to comment, other than "yummy. aged "tritium""
