  1. These are a couple of new straps I just completed for te BR02. I really like how they've turned out. The blue stitching I think would look great on the blue-pro. Let me know what you think

Here it a new proto-type strap. The leather has been ebossed with a stone then antiqued. I think I'll call it "stone ground". Let me know wat you think!

  2. I just completed this custom order and I'm really liking how it's turned out. Here were the requested specs:

    26mm/26mm

    145mm/95mm (yes he's got a huge wrist)

6mm thick (I had to use 3 layers of 4/5 oz leather to make that happen)

Here are the phots that I took in a step by step fashion. Hope you enjoy:

    First cut long side:

    Short side cut and glued:

    Check for thickness:

Starting to look like a watch strap:

Cut the groves for the stitching and burnish the edges (this give the straps a much more finely finished look):

    DSC09013.jpg

Stitching holes punched and leather oiled to soften the leather (at 6mm, it'll need softening!!):

Back side now it's ready to start the dying process:

Antique staining this is the first step of a muti stage color buildup:

Thanks for looking. I'm running a special for the 1st 10 custome strap orders I recieve form RWG members. PM me for details.

  3. Well I'll certainly be selling most of them. And I'll be listing them shortly, but I need to make sure I'm listing them in the right area. I don't want to break any forum rules by listing a sale thread in the wrong area, also, I need to measure each piece, etc. Most of these will be listed for sale though. Thanks for the support.

That one looks like watch-strap-porn to me!

Very well made! You're sure you don't want to start selling them? ;)

  4. Lol..Thanks for the support, but honestly, If I didn't think there were things I could learn to get better, I'd get bored.

    Ehhhh...WTF...advice???

It seems like we are the ones who should ask you for advice. :thumbsupsmileyanim: :thumbsupsmileyanim:

    Looks really good.

And as the other posters has said. that B&R looks like something that could have come from the factory.

Keep up the good work and show us some more when they are finished.

  5. BTW, All of my straps are made with vege tanned natural leather and all my finishes are hand rubbed sometimes using as many as 4 separate dye stages and 4 finish coats which gives them the kind of depth that you can get no other way (trust me I've tried ;) . Turns out the only way to get that old world, hand rubbed finish look is to apply the real old world technique. Go figure.

  6. Hey guys, here are a few of the straps that I've made so far. I'm looking for advice as to how I can improve. I'm pretty happy with what I've done so far, but I mus say I'm still learning a lot with each on I make. I'm not a novice to leather work, as i used to have a small leather working business many years ago, but am new to watch straps. I'm struggleing most with the dye and finish work. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and I want to have that old world hand rubbed finish like you see on a very expensive pair of hand made shoes. If any of you watch stap experts want to give me some feed back or info. about products you like or prefer, I'd be very greatful. In the interest of full disclosure, I intent to get good enough th turn this into a business, so I'm really looking for advise from future potential customes, however that said, these straps are NOT for sale here. Cheers and thanks for looking:

  7. Let's try this again! Any other SoCal members interested in a GTG, so far we have two members plus myself. We had like 8 or 10 the last time! Where is everyone?

I'm up for it, I live in LA and Riverside and work in Newport Beach, and so pretty flexible about where we could meet.
