  1. I go camping every couple years in the Eastern Sierra (California - near Bridgeport, CA) and have run into a couple of Black Bears - usually I head back toward the motorhome to hide out until they leave . I am not the biggest fan of our cuddly friends - I'll let Charlie Vandergaw befriend them!
  2. Didn't gentle Ben end up eating his trainer?
  3. Me thinks that the bear would be eating a rare TeeJay steak
  4. Is the the O-Ring from the Tube? If so, open the watch, pull the crown into the time setting position, remove the stem, remove the o-ring, replace the o-ring - or stay out of the water, and replace the crown/stem assembly...
  5. Sea-Dweller underwater, NICE JKAY! Now if I could just find somewhere to get mine pressure tested!
  6. Still the 1665..I ordered some more Zulu's for it yesterday, should add some variety
  7. I like it too...some accidents should be on purpose
  8. On the advice given here, I am after some better hands, what's the going opinion on Yuki white Tudor hands?
  9. I am going to have to send JoJo an PM I just de-cased, adjusted the dial, and now I am all centered up.... I also broke out the DSLR, here are some Pics:
  10. Thanks Freddy! I will try and hunt down some Tudor hands...maybe some vintagy ones ... The dial do have the feet removed, I did that exact trick (slow dry epoxy) when setting it up, but the dial turned a little when doing the final attachment. The 3:00 market is slightly off from stem center, so I am just going to re-align the dial to the stem and I should be good to go! I am about the decase it, spin the dial a hair and put it back together...I'll post some more pics when done!
  11. They Aren't gen bars but the holes have been drilled to acomodate. I may pick some up. Anybody have a source for the better hands?
  12. BTW thanks to all the sellers: FxrAndy - great transaction not a glitch. Ronin - same thing....great guy to deal with. highoeyazmuhudee - thanks for all your help and great transaction.
  13. Thanks guys! I really did enjoy putting this piece together. I will have a GW dial in it's way to me soon. I'll have to decide between the two of them. May be a hard decision.
  14. I just finished this up about 15 minutes ago and I thought that I'd post it. It's the first project that I've built from scratch - that is, I didn't start with a whole watch. I bought each component separately and from across the globe. - The case is an MBW 1665 sourced from Canada - The movement is a new 2846 slow beat from California - The datewheel is from FxrAndy in Germany (dial needs to be adjusted a little to be centered) - The dial is a MBW DRSD from Colorado - and The hands are from Wholesale Outlet in Texas. Here is a cappy cell phone pic. I'll post some more tomorrow after I get out the DSLR.
  15. Starting to like the Doxas! Nice shot Ronin!
  16. +1 For Fusion - Don't use Parallels - I tried it - doesn't compare. It'll also run all Linux flavors...
  17. We use it as a Lyric display monitor that projects onto the back wall of our church so the singers/pastors know what's going on. It's mostly text driven, and I run it through a Video Extender (CAT5 cable) so I am not sure how it would look with out limitations that I've placed on it.... A Matrox unit would probably do better than the USB thingy...
  18. I use one of these for a 3rd display at my church... http://www.amazon.com/ARKVIEW-USB-DH88-Multi-Display-External-Displays/dp/B001B7H39W It works pretty well...no big complaints. The only issue that I have is sometimes the Apple doesn't recognize the module, and I have to unplug the USB and plug it back into a different USB port...
  19. @Redwatch - I am using it on my MagicMouse and it seems to be working pretty great - I missed having a shortcut to the dashboard and expose when I switch from my logitech mouse, but now I have it back. It basically give a bunch of multi touch functions to the MagicMouse/Touchpad....I also just download Launchbar! +1 It's pretty nice! +1 for MobileMe as well - nice way to keep everything synced up between Multiple Macs and iPhone Growl has similar+more functions to the Mail Unread Menu - It gives you a little note in the top corner of the screen when new mail arrives, as well as all the other normal Growl notifications... I also like iStat Menus http://www.islayer.com/apps/ - it gives a nice quick glance at what the computer is doing....
  20. Another Couple of Good Ones, Growl Notifications - Let's you know when you're computer has done something (received email, fax, finished something...) http://growl.info/ Quicksilver - Similar to Launch Bar http://www.blacktree.com/
  21. First off, you're gonna love it. It will take some time getting used to the differences of a WinPC but, it will be work the effort. What kinda of things are you planning on doing with it? That'll help us with making suggestions on what you should get....
  22. I'll bring some Omega love to the party.... Still wearing this guy, but I am waiting on some inbound parts to finish my 1665 and a crystal from Chief to finish my franken PO
  23. There are watch guys in the UK and EU - I don't know off hand who does it, but, it's not that hard to do....you just have to be careful not to bang into other parts inside the watch while doing it...
