  1. Very Sad...heard that on the news this morning. I immediately thought of you and I am glad you made it back!
  2. It's funny to think how many people out there have Old Rollies and think they're worthless because they're old and beat up....I just wish I could find one of them
  3. Yeah - tried that a couple of times - insert, insert while turning...nothing. Just didn't want to catch...
  4. Do you mean there is a gap between the dial and the movement? Or from the top plate?
  5. That's what I normally do - I am not sure what I did different this time - like I said - this is the first time I've had this happen - and I've done a lot of stem removals...
  6. I guess it depends on how the works gets screwed up. I couldn't do anything - the stem just pulled out - no hacking, date adjustment, time adjust - just totally loose. I was able to get mine fixed by following sneeds directions (per JoeyB - THANKS FOR TH POST!). It was a fairly straight forward job....Thanks for the help! My guess is when I installed the hands last time the finger was just barely in the castle gear, and since then, something got bumped and the finger jumped the rest of the way out. But we're all sorted now and back to keeping near perfect time (+2 seconds per day)...
  7. Thanks Joey! I'm sure I can fix it, just wanted to make sure the symptoms related to the keyless works. In all my modding I've never had an issue. But there always a first time!
  8. Hey Guys! I went to set the time on my Gen. Tudor 79090 (ETA 2824-2) this morning and crown and stem pulled out. I had recently changed the hands (had the movement out of the watch) and recased everything without problem - so I didn't think there was any problems with the keyless works, but I also don't think I've changed the time since then...so what do you guys think? Did I screw up the keyless works? Or could it be something else? Anything weird about the Tudor ETA 2824-2 vs a Regular ETA 2824-2? If nothing different I'll just do it tomorrow - just thought I'd run it past the experts... Thanks!
  9. Thanks buddy. That's the info I was looking for!
  10. SWEEEEET! MUST NOT VISIT EVERYDAY
  11. Is there the small bezel at the top like my original crystal on the 1680's - or no bezel at all on the Top Hats (I think it's Top not Tall - although I could be wrong)?
  12. Does he have a site with stuff other then what he sells @ VRM?
  13. So over the last week, I have acquired 2 Gen. Rolex 25-144 plexi crystals for my 79090. The original crystal (from '94) had a very slight bevel along the edge. The first one I acquired - from a Rolex Plastic Baggy, matched the original crystal. Today, I got another one from my Watchmaker, who ordered it from the RSC in Dallas (came in a plastic clamshell box), and it's got a much larger edge. I like the bigger edge better (newer crystal). Any ideas on why Rolex has two different Versions? Original and Older Replacement: New Replacement: (The beveled edge begins right at the top of the bezel insert) A picture of them together:
  14. I saw that one too! Beautiful!
  15. ...guess I am just not a fan of Cali. Dials in General - I thought I like the PAM Cali's but on reinspection...nope
  16. I saw that too...kinda different - I don't really like the Mixed of Roman and Arabic Numerals...but...to each their own
  17. Very Nice M!...and the watch ain't bad either! Your right ups are amongst the best ever and your pics are amazing!
  18. Nice work! Now to build up some confidence and service one
  19. Interesting - I noticed on an import form that watches did have different import duties based on the number of jewels. Didn't know that actually had an impact on how manufactures made movements. I guess this is part of the law of unintended consequences.
  20. Congrats man! This is still quite an accomplishment. I had a feeling this was coming - you seemed to be pretty sick. Better to have come home early than be buried on the mountain...glad you're still around!
  21. ...which gives 25.23mm. The spring bars I have measure 25.35. But on my Tudor 79090 the spring bars just look slightly short when compared to the Gen. spring bars I had in my Yuki 1680 Franken. Not terribly short, just slightly short....but I don't have that watch anymore so I can't compare...
  22. I think the ones I have are aftermarket - I am just trying to verify that the Gens. are slightly longer than what I have...
  23. I tried searching but am having no luck. Does anybody know the overall length, uncompressed, (tip to tip - not shoulder to shoulder) of a genuine rolex 2mm spring bar. I am finding some variation in mine and am wondering if some of mine may not be gen. Thanks!
  24. Wow. This is getting tough. Can't wait to keep reading...
