thanks man, it was a long time coming. when my sales lady called i thought she was kidding me at first. it has the engraving, it's the latest v series with the comfort link clasp like my gmt2c. they say the black dial is all the rage in japan but the white dial is my favorite.

thomas is trying to help me with an odd posting problem. i can't get a flashing cursor in a text box with rwg original skin but it looks like i can with clean cut (import). i will give him this new info and maybe it will help, i'm not a computer guy so i have no idea. lol

jetmid is a replica forum icon that is well set into the history books. i will let these guys tell the story but don't forget to ask about the trl as it is equally famous. it was one of the most famous threads in history. i don't know if a search will pull them up or not because i can't remember if that stuff made it over to this data base before the other one imploded.

i can assure you i have no authority here. you can ask anybody that knows me, i do what ever it takes, anywhere, anytime, anyplace. opinions very and everybody has the right to their own. when, where and how you state it is what decides if you get along with others or not. it's simple really.

allot of things were corrupted in such a way that will never be reversed, you can bet the farm on that.

The black looks really sharp. I like it a lot. I bought one of these when they were not yet this good and now I really want to get the black one but - the price - I will have to wait.

the black does look nice, i would like to have it on ss but at this price i guess i will pass. i will never pay that kind of money for any watch with an asian movement in it. what are you going to do when it breaks? no parts and a 550.00 paper weight? thanks but no thanks.

all of us should stop buying for a month or 2 may be then they will think about producing decent quality stuff..

it is a very common tactic that he employees regularly. when loosing the battle change the subject. it used to work for him but now that people are focused on the subject at hand it's not as useful as it used to be.

I see WatchMark is checking this out... Maybe he has some inside GZ scoop??? I also heard that an ALL ceramic GMT bezel insert was going to be available very soon. But I heard of no other "upgrades" to the current version.

These bezel inserts have been taken off some watches. I have had mine off... and I know that Jake48 was sent a spare bezel insert because his was received scratched.

Even when I had mine off I couldnt tell exactly what it was. I think Dizzy is correct. The top is ceramic, the rest is metal. But it sure is a tight fit, because I didnt see any glue, and couldnt even see a joint where the two would have been point together.

i remember reading when it came out the insert was a sandwich design. i figured it was a thin piece of ceramic on an aluminum base that was glued together. that sounds feasible. there are allot of different mixtures of ceramic and all of them aren't as hard as the material used on my gen. if indeed it really is ceramic it is of much lesser grade and that would explain the scratches we are hearing about. one way to check it is to heat a needle until it is red and stick on the surface of the insert. if it melts it isn't ceramic of any kind. if someone has a extra insert that is already scratched they could tell us in a matter if minutes. if is just a lesser grade i can understand that being that it is a rep but if it is something else that is just wrong.

Tell me how an entire J12 can be made in ceramic for what it does??? Or how SOME dealers can sell a full ceramic HBB for under $500 when others sell the HBB with ceramic bezel for nearly twice that???

I have been told from someone who I trust that a full ceramic bezel will be available in the very near future. THEN the dealers will have a reason to market an ULTIMATE GMT IIc and add another $100 to the price.

The bezel in the GMT IIc IS a layer of ceramic over metal. It IS NOT plastic.

PS, DEALERS.... WHY ARE CERAMIC PARTS SO EXPENSIVE???

is the ceramic glued to the metal? ceramic is fired at temperatures higher than metal will withstand. also if it is ceramic why are we having reports of them getting scratched? i have knocked the crap out of my gen and it hasn't scratched.

The bezel is not make of ceramic, not even the surface. If I had to guess, I'd say it is relatively hard, high-gloss plastic or resin of some sort. The bezel can and will scratch, as there have been numerous reports, including mine, of scratched inserts. However, my bezel hasn't scratched from any wear and tear on my part; it was delivered that way. Very minor, but still, enough to let you know it is not ceramic.

the Fact is this is copa setic to the way of the world.. I have roughly a customer base of 2000 to 2200... for every one customer that raves about what we do.. there will inevitably be one that comdemns my way of doing things.. not everyone will be happy nor choose us..

the reality is I realize what I am dealing with .. and more than not I have to add mods or servicing to the movements... ergo ... the reason I am attempting to learn minor watch work..

Again to repeat.. I have never "ONCE" marketed nor advertised for any collector in my pictorials or whatever you want to call them..

for myself I go on 'proven " track records.. with "ME" there have been dealers that I spent alot of money on and ceased doing business with for reasons that I will keep private..

I can see if some site is trying to scam you .. but this is not the case... I buy from dealers.. (Plural) that provide "me" with customer service that reflects the "amount" of business "I" do with them throughout the year or years..I do not flip form dealer to dealer looking for a "bargin" .. because for me bargins are not substantial when it comes to after purchase service or savings..

All I am saying is do not "Group" dealers customers in a derogatory way ... because whom is anyone to say what I or the rest of the members are thinking and their reasons for buying form any one dealer...

My view on purchasing products that are for esthetics or personal use is sort of like "Religion".... it is a "PERSONAL CHOICE" and not anyones business but that person directly involved in it

Time to Move ON........... "IMUA" = FORWARD.... and all it takes to go 1000 miles is the "First Step"

just remember, i put my money where my mouth is, that was the purpose of the post. i was tired of what was going on and i did something about it. i will continued to do that until i feel the prices have come in line with the the overall quality of the product. i paid 86.00 for my brand new seiko orange monster on ss, 21.00 to have it delivered from china to oklahoma. there isn't a rep made that can even come close to the quality and durability of that watch and we won't even mention the lume. until the reps being sold for these astronomical prices can match that i am out. the value for the dollar amount isn't there and i still haven't figured out why it is 35.00 for a dealer to send us our reps but 21.00 for this dealer to send my seiko ems. like i said, i took action, i am not just saying i should do it, i did it and will continue to do so until these things change.

like i said before, everybody will make up their own mind as to when they have had enough but the problem isn't going away this time around.

I have never influenced any member by semantics to buy or not to buy from Joshua nor Andrew.. it seems to me that you would rather me and the whole forum jump on "your" band wagon.. and if we don't you .. use cute little euphemisms to talk down on the membership who rather make their own decisions ..

Neither agitated member nor any collector.. dealer will make "my" decision... I do choose =based on product + Customer service.. and If I choose to pay a little more for after purchase service.. that will be "MY CHOICE"

and if I am to be called whatever petty names because of this .. that is "your" problem ... and issues you need to resolve without the leverage of using the forum to sway votes..

ok, i believe you and so will everybody else. no need to get excited. i was only telling my story, how i feel about it and what i chose to do about it, i spent my money on what i wanted. as i have already said it is different for everybody.

At least someone who acts. I can respect that. But I wonder how many of the 90% that thinks reps are too expensive will do the same.....

i have no idea if any will stand up for them selves or just listen to the jandrew apologists. obviously reaching that point will be different for everybody but last year out of 25 watches i had 7 of them being worked on to correct qc issues and i said enough is enough. i started counting up the monthly expenditures on this hobby and said enough is enough. the prices kept going up, the accuracy on some of them was better but the qc was the same or worse. i looked at what it would actually cost to buy a couple of new rolex's and said what the hell am i doing??????? i couldn't justify it any longer. meanwhile we continue to see the prices increase to levels that are just stupid and the qc remains the same and it is purely greed.

i have had no qc issues and all i did was send my money to switzerland instead of some asian guy with a fake american sounding name.

It is as if he did not read my first post. Trying to spin the dradle but it does not work for him because he does not know what it symbolizes... I wish it were not so but the blind faith that people have because of good service and timely delivery does not help the populous because greed with a smile is promoted inadvertently.

The kicker here is that a handful of people still cannot comprehend that I never was any part of this decision , any action involving these guys. Their abuses and intimidation with Hont was not reported to me, it was reported to Takashi, once I became aware of it I emailed hont to try and get more info... and when the decision was made to remove them from RWI I was happily frolicking in ocean off the coast of Florida with no computer or phone in sight.

Now that I am back, hont sends me another email (2 days ago) that indeed, he has been cut off by the Hublot AAA maker (this is ANOTHER block to control prices, another separate incident ) who makes the Concord C1. This was done at the Request of Josh and Andrew as the maker explained "I cannot afford to loose their business, I have to do what they say". But Hont tells me he will be able to offer it soon. He is going to buy it through a middle man but at a higher cost which means he will not be able to sell for the low "non-greedy" cost which has been his business practice since becoming a dealer on RWI.

Yet again, a price fix by the dynamic duo because they are empowered by people who think accountability stops at 4 day delivery and quick communication.

But again.. my "Vendetta" for Josh and Andrew will overshadow the atrocities that they commit. This is because I am a fair easier target than them. People will feel that retribution by me is far less than retribution by them... this is intimidation and manipulation at it's best.

Keep buying from them folks... be sure to lube up your pocketbook before you do... They have not increased the price of KY jelly yet.

Hmmm.... after 4 pages and about 90% of the votes saying reps are too expensive, I think we can expect almost everyone here to stop buying reps and learn these nasty rep factories and dealers a lesson!

Guys, like Kruzer already said on page 1, vote with your wallets. Trying to speculate how the cost structure of manufacturing reps works doesn't lead anywhere. It's probably a combination of cost increases, weak dollars, inflation, greed or whatever, but since when do customers determine the price for manufacturers?

i haven't bought any reps since last october. i said screw it and bought my wife and i both new rolex's, platinum yacht master for her and a gmt2c for myself. we are extremely happy with them and believe it or not we haven't had one single quality issue with either one of them. if the prices on reps don't come back down where they belong i will buy us 2 more new rolex's around the beginning of next year. i am not exactly sure what my next one will be but she wants a ladies tt dj with diamond hour markers.

i was spending about 1,000.00 per month on this hobby, now i am not spending one dime on it.
