thanks man, it was a long time coming. when my sales lady called i thought she was kidding me at first. it has the engraving, it's the latest v series with the comfort link clasp like my gmt2c. they say the black dial is all the rage in japan but the white dial is my favorite.

i am a terrible photographer, i can't take a picture like you guys. that shot was taken at my ad and that is my gmt2c on the counter in the background. 5 years on the waiting list for a white dial ss, they called me on at 7:30pm on a saturday night last august. needless to say i said i'll take it! lmao

back with my daytona tonight,

today i am wearing my z series gmt2c and the wife has on her z series platinum yacht master. later tonight i will be wearing my v series ss daytona. thomas is trying to help me with an odd posting problem. i can't get a flashing cursor in a text box with rwg original skin but it looks like i can with clean cut (import). i will give him this new info and maybe it will help, i'm not a computer guy so i have no idea. lol edit to add, looks like it also works for me on ip board lo-fi.

the black does look nice, i would like to have it on ss but at this price i guess i will pass. i will never pay that kind of money for any watch with an asian movement in it. what are you going to do when it breaks? no parts and a 550.00 paper weight? thanks but no thanks.

i stopped buying last october.

it is a very common tactic that he employees regularly. when loosing the battle change the subject. it used to work for him but now that people are focused on the subject at hand it's not as useful as it used to be.

i remember reading when it came out the insert was a sandwich design. i figured it was a thin piece of ceramic on an aluminum base that was glued together. that sounds feasible. there are allot of different mixtures of ceramic and all of them aren't as hard as the material used on my gen. if indeed it really is ceramic it is of much lesser grade and that would explain the scratches we are hearing about. one way to check it is to heat a needle until it is red and stick on the surface of the insert. if it melts it isn't ceramic of any kind. if someone has a extra insert that is already scratched they could tell us in a matter if minutes. if is just a lesser grade i can understand that being that it is a rep but if it is something else that is just wrong.

is the ceramic glued to the metal? ceramic is fired at temperatures higher than metal will withstand. also if it is ceramic why are we having reports of them getting scratched? i have knocked the crap out of my gen and it hasn't scratched.

the insert isn't ceramic? could you post pictures of the scratch?

just remember, i put my money where my mouth is, that was the purpose of the post. i was tired of what was going on and i did something about it. i will continued to do that until i feel the prices have come in line with the the overall quality of the product. i paid 86.00 for my brand new seiko orange monster on ss, 21.00 to have it delivered from china to oklahoma. there isn't a rep made that can even come close to the quality and durability of that watch and we won't even mention the lume. until the reps being sold for these astronomical prices can match that i am out. the value for the dollar amount isn't there and i still haven't figured out why it is 35.00 for a dealer to send us our reps but 21.00 for this dealer to send my seiko ems. like i said, i took action, i am not just saying i should do it, i did it and will continue to do so until these things change. like i said before, everybody will make up their own mind as to when they have had enough but the problem isn't going away this time around.

ok, i believe you and so will everybody else. no need to get excited. i was only telling my story, how i feel about it and what i chose to do about it, i spent my money on what i wanted. as i have already said it is different for everybody.

i have no idea if any will stand up for them selves or just listen to the jandrew apologists. obviously reaching that point will be different for everybody but last year out of 25 watches i had 7 of them being worked on to correct qc issues and i said enough is enough. i started counting up the monthly expenditures on this hobby and said enough is enough. the prices kept going up, the accuracy on some of them was better but the qc was the same or worse. i looked at what it would actually cost to buy a couple of new rolex's and said what the hell am i doing??????? i couldn't justify it any longer. meanwhile we continue to see the prices increase to levels that are just stupid and the qc remains the same and it is purely greed. i have had no qc issues and all i did was send my money to switzerland instead of some asian guy with a fake american sounding name.

now they got hont cut off? at this point i can't imagine what more proof people want. this is exactly what dave123 was eluding to when this whole thing blew up. they had already told him what they were going to do.

i haven't bought any reps since last october. i said screw it and bought my wife and i both new rolex's, platinum yacht master for her and a gmt2c for myself. we are extremely happy with them and believe it or not we haven't had one single quality issue with either one of them. if the prices on reps don't come back down where they belong i will buy us 2 more new rolex's around the beginning of next year. i am not exactly sure what my next one will be but she wants a ladies tt dj with diamond hour markers. i was spending about 1,000.00 per month on this hobby, now i am not spending one dime on it.
