  1. do you think they are know all over the world for being tight for no reason?
  2. you don't see anything bizzar about wearing the clock from your airplane on your wrist in the first place? i am part owner of an airport and we generally leave them in the planes. most of us can afford to have a wrist watch apart from the one in our plane's. lol
  3. if the bearings were made to aircraft quality manufactureing standerds they wouldn't require paste grease to take up the slack and hide the crappy standerds they were made to. the tolorances are too loose there for making a sloppy bearing which is very loud.
  4. the same phisics apply the only difference is the size and speed of the bearing. it is a ball bearing, it costs nothing to make a bearing that small and that low speed quiet.
  5. ok, give me 250.00 and i will send you this rock grinding peice of [censored].
  6. dude, i was with you until you got to the jews, sorry man, they are cheap basterds and will cheat their mother out of a dime at any cost.
  7. i sent her a e-mail. we will see what she has to say.
  8. maybe i should have ruby send me another complete movement so i can experiment.
  9. you are correct. i know nothing of the movement nor did i say it is junk. i said if you can hear the bearings grinding they are junk. i don't care how heavy the rotor is the fact remains if you can hear the bearings they are not good. the 20" rims on my car weigh 45 lbs each and you cannot hear the wheel bearings and when the time comes that you can, it will be time to change them. i am not a watch smith but i have worked on all of the space vehichles, thomahawk cruise missles, mx intercontinental ballistic cruise missles, all versions of the b1 bomber and the complete line of boeing commercial aircraft built in the last 30 years so i do know alittle about close tolorances and precision manufacturing and i can tell you with out a doubt the bearings in the rotor of my navitimer are crap. i don't have to know anything about a watch movement to know when bearings are bad and made to crap manufactureing spec's
  10. it will if the tolorances are loose enough. let me say it like this, if the alternator bearings or the wheel bearings start sounding like that on your car i would fix it if i were you. if you can hear a bearing grinding when it spins it is junk.
  11. yes, good bearings would be a good place to start.
  12. really bad taste? the rappers are making more money from their trend setting styles than they are from their music. with that said, i would have to say that most of the world dissagrees with you because they are making millions off of this stuff and we are not.
  13. according to the bell & ross webb site it is black carbon powder coating.
  14. if i went to an ad and they tried to sell me a new 6,000.00 breitling that sounded like a hay bailer they would still hear me laughing as i was driving away to the rolex store. i love breitlings but they are no rolex and if that is the way a gen sounds i can't imagine why anybody buys them. they associate themselves with aviation and precision. that sound is from poor materials and workmanship which is not allowed in aviation. if a watch stops it is no big deal. if a aircraft stops people die. in my line of work there is no room for such poor quality and workmanship.
  15. i am a auto/aircraft mechanic and i work for boeing. i can tell you if you have to use axel grease to make a bearing quiet it is junk. bearings for a commercial aircraft are put on a machine and spun to operating speed and then we listen to them with an electronic stethascope, if you can hear it?, it goes into the trash and not on a aircraft that you and your family are flying on 5 miles in the sky at 600 mph in the middel of the night over the ocean. the bearings we throw into the trash for an airplane are the best bearings that you could ever imagine for a race car much less your family car. i am not a watchsmith like The Zigmeister but i can tell you the bearings that are in my navitimer are junk and eta recommended oil will not make them quiet. you have 2 choices, change the bearings or use a lubracant that is heavy enough to shut them up. if you use high temp axel grease it won't melt in the sun and get into the rest of the watch so as long as the rotor spins to wind the watch like it is supposed to what will it hurt? i guess my question is if i send my watch to you The Zigmeister what are you going to do to fix it? change the bearings? if you are only going to put some watch oil on it i can go to my local jewlery repair shop and they will do it for about 5.00 but it won't be fixed.
  16. the pin in my davidsen 195 cg looked exactly like this gen that was sold on tz for 11,900.00. that pin is not always flush. enjoy
  17. exactly. scraping, grinding box of rocks comes pretty close to the way mine sounds. it's embarassing.
  18. mine sounds like a meat grinder. you can hear how rough the bearings are, it's not just a whirring sound, it's a whirring/grinding sound like the bearings are bad/dry. if i bought a 5,500.00 watch that sounded like that i would make them give me my money back.
  19. i am going to do mine. it sounds like something out of a cracker jacks box. lol
  20. so a genuine 5,000.00 navitimer sounds like a cheap peice of crap from 5 feet away? thats what my rep 28,800 7550 navi sounds like. everybody that hears it asks me if something is wrong with it.
  21. thats very intresting. who is the seller?
  22. i have a vc like that from josh and the winding mecanism is stripped but it runs fine. 3 dead eta's in rollies from el that are 9 months old
  23. that isn't even a good quality rep. the bezel insert and pearl are awful. he is showing a picture of everything except the warrantee papers. what a peice of crap.
  24. well, you know fish are pretty offencive. lol
