the navi i have from ruby is clear at extreme angles and i can see a blue cast in the light but you should be able to see a purpleish blue hue when the light is on the crystal very easily and my navi has very little and it should be very noticable like on my davidsen 195. if you look at eyeglasses with ar you can see the same thing. the crystal will still appear clear it is not a tint.

after some time it will leave marks on the pvd coating for sure but i see know solution as it is only a coating. your polished ss shouldn't be a problem as long as you hands and watch are clean when you start. the dirt is what scratches your watch.

if you can wait a little bit of time, i am working on this with ruby right now. my navi has a loose bezel and i will send it back to her today. it will take a couple of weeks to get to her. she goes to the factories to pick up her watches so i asked her to pick up a new crystal for my watch and have it ar'ed on both sides with pupleish blue ar coating and have it installed when they fix the loose bezel. if this is sucessfull she will start offering this service for her customers but mine is going to be the ginni pig, so it will take a while to see how this turns out and to get a price. ar coating is very expensive in the us. i will find out if this is going to work and give a update when the project is finnished.

i got a 113 from ruby and the cannon pin was too long. i was going to leave it but i decided to put a set of davidsen hands on it so i had the correct length installed. no they will never get it right.

i received e-mail from him and he said the spelling on the case back has been corrected now. i think i am going to start saving some money. lol

i to am thinking about a 111h with a ss band because i like the look of the combonation, but it made me wonder if a 005 or a 113 was avaliable with a ss band? i understand it is not uncomman to see this, but this post just made me curious about what gen pams were avaliable with ss bands from the factory?
-
this is entirely off topic but damn man, kudos to your avatar!

i don't think it looks too big at all. the strap you are going to put on it will be beautiful. i can tell by looking at it on your wrist that it would look fine for me also. it is a very beautiful watch!
-
ttk, do you wear a 120x80 strap on a 44mm pam? it seems as our wrists are about the same, swelling and all. lol i can wear a 120x75 it just gives me a little extra room in the evening with a 120x80. that watch is beautiful.
-
well that makes my decision for me then. i was thinking about the 005 to go with my 195 but i guess i won't be doing that now.
-
my davidsen 195 (same dial) says L swiss L but it seems like i saw a thread about this some where but i don't remember where. you might be able to find it if you do a search. it might be worth a try.

that is a very cool post, story, observasion of our times, watch and pictures. all very nice! and i can't imagine how you shot those pictures. they are excellent!

i have no problems with joe at all. i talk with him on a regular basis. he is building a tw best tt blue sub for me as we speak. i think his work is excellent and i know when it is finished it will be as close to gen as it can get. there is no way in hell i am sending this watch through customs again just to get this work preformed. i have lost 1,500.00 in customs seizers and it is not leaving this country unless it is on my wrist. after this project is finished i have 2 more ss subs that are headed his way. am i happy? hell yea. lol
-
davidsen on top, gen on bottom. you decide
-
this one is the closest you can buy with out modding it. lol, they are just picking at it. go to the gen webb site and look at the 111h. this one is closer than anything you can buy. even the dial font is not easy to see until you have them side buy side and you will have to stare at it then. i can assure you nobody's going to call you out unless you take it off and hand it to them and 99% of the people out there won't be able to do it then, especialy the people that are wearing gens. they know far less about them than we do. lol unless you want to invest 500.00 including modding one of these just buy this one. if somebody out their can get one better than this one for the same money, tell us so we can buy it.

King's advertised 14kt Bracelets with Sub...false advertising
hk45ca replied to Whatch-A-Doin?'s topic in The Rolex Area
apperantly i didn't make my self clear. i didn't say the dealer shouldn't make it good if the product turns out not to be what ever it was advertised as. i said they aren't going to test every watch they send out to see if the supplier sent the right one. that would be the only way for them to know 100% that every tt watch they send was really gold. -
go figure. lol, it's always something isn't it. good call.

King's advertised 14kt Bracelets with Sub...false advertising
hk45ca replied to Whatch-A-Doin?'s topic in The Rolex Area
i agree, i have talked to ruby and josh about this and they have to beleive their suppliers word. they cannot test every single watch they sell. nobody does that. this same thing could happen to pt. yes he tested a couple of watches and they were gold, but he doesn't test every single tt sub he sends out. he is beleiving his supplier is sending the one he is supposed to be. you have to remember, the people making these reps are making a counterfit product and are probably not the most honest people on the block. i am sure they will try to get away with anything they can for a dollar. on the other hand our dealers here have no reason to lie to us. i can't beleive any of them would purposely lie just to sell 1 watch and then ruin their reputation for 1 sale. that don't even make since. -
well, here's one from tz for 11,900.00. how about that pin? does it look flat? my davidsen 195 looked exactly like this out of the box. trust me man, they are not all flat. if you are intrested, this one is still for sale in the sales cornner. lol

the search is over for me. i will make it my next purchase. i have a ss band waiting already. lol

just what i know is puffy doesnt bring the 20 grand price in a drsd, just a flat patina or even a slight yellowing is the ones that bring the big bucks, just to let you know , that is how i and most of my friends like it , puffy to me doesn't look very good, but some like a more aged look. according to the price guide of vintage rolex sports models by martin skeet and nick yrul the low range watches have the puffy markers that were damaged by moisture and the sun and there for are less desirable. the mid and high range may have a slight discoloration but less ageing is more desirable and brings the big bucks. for me personaly i like the slight yellowing and a patina look but not puffy. puffy looks damaged to me. once again this is a personal thing. i always go for the look that makes me happy so if were you i would go for the look that you like the best. hope this helps

he could have come here and we would have been happy to talk to him about his watch, of course it wouldn't have sold for 4,000.00 or 5,000.00 either. it looked like about 125.00 with the crappy box to me if it was a eta. lol he knew it was fake. i didn't see where he said he had all the papers for it. or did i overlook it?
-
there is a time and place for everything and that was certainly neither for that watch.
-
just keep kicking. there's no other choice now.

see what i mean?
