  1. Not long had my smp and would really like to get a bezel insert with a gen like pearl as i think it would improve the overall look.

Is there any member here that has one or knows of a aftermarket seller that can supply one?

I love the watch itself but the pearl is the only thing bugging me really!

    the current pearl:

Also just a quick mention that the watch came with a strange powder coating covering the lovely seamaster logo on the caseback which i didnt like so i took to it with a little bit of silver polish wadding and it came up a treat!!

    any help much appreciated.. :)

  2. For me its the whole thing...

From the moment you see the rep that you`ve just got to have then the excitement of ordering it :Jumpy:

Then theres the wait..oh boy "the wait" :whistling: which for me, is one of the best parts.

Then my wife rings me at work to say theres a package been delivered :yeah:

Then im at work for the rest of the day with a big :D smile on my face till that moment when i arrive home and the little box/jiffy bag is sat there on the side just waiting to be opened :bounce:

Once opened i spend a little while closely inspecting every nook and cranny and finally popping it on the wrist for the first time and clicking the clasp shut extending the arm to admire it`s gorgeousness!!! :)

Then spend the rest of the evening walking round the house like a kid on christmas morning with a big cheesy grin on my face..lol

occasionally glancing down to my wrist to admire my new aquisition with new found love..

I really dont know how many more reps i want, im leaning towards a gmt master 2c and maybe a dssd but i fear the dssd may sit up on my wrist too much...oh i dont know!! :g:

But i know that whichever i get that special feeling will happen all over again.....aaaahhhhhh!

  3. I`ll second that..

I know i only have 50 odd posts but you really only find out about our chosen hobby if you become active and start asking questions!!

Every noob has at least one burning question that they`d like to ask (i know i did) and the members here are the best in the business so to speak :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Ive learnt so much since i joined not only by spending hours trawling through past posts but also by asking exactly what i needed to know.

When i first got into replica watches i thought it was about badly made far eastern tat but i soon learnt that you can purchase a beautiful well made replica of the genuine watch that you always promised yourself (but financially you could never afford :( ) from this board for the price of a night out with the lads!!

My purchases so far iv`e been very happy with, from my po from Reg to my smp from Dragonslayer.. :good: (thanks R)

Get involved...it`s bloody good fun!!! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  4. Its amazing how even the lower end models with the 21j movement still look and feel so good. The PO chrono was my very first Omega rep--its quartz but still cool. The other PO Great Pumpkin has The Zigmeister lume and Chief AR. I think it looks about as close to gen as you can get.

WOW!!!! what a collection,im dead jelous.. :Jumpy:

So much choice.. and, like me you definately have a omega fetish.

    Enjoy them.. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  5. I have one that appears to be the same other than the color of the wood. I think it was about $40US. I like it although my wife's using it now. This picture was a while ago. Most of the watches are long gone.

    That looks real nice!!

Fantastic collection btw...what intriques me is why would you get together a fine collection and slowly sell them.

I mean those were watches that you always wanted yeah..so why get rid of them? was it to buy others that you wanted or was it to buy gens? im curious.

I couldn`t imagine selling any of mine as its watches that ive always wanted to own..

  6. Hey nice handgun and watch combo...guess you are in the states?

If that was taken in the uk then a swat team would be crashing through your door before you could say "big brother".

We`re not allowed to have anything like that over here, not even a replica. They think we`re going to run amok and shoot everyone!

Our government likes to run our lives for us and doesn`t think we`re responsible enough!!..lol

  7. Not to keep it off topic, but absolutely spot on :good: This is why I wouldn't buy gens, even if I had the money to, as I just don't think they're worth the sticker price... :pardon:

I think your right TeeJay.If you actually break it down your probably paying 25% cost of the watch itself and 75% for the brand name.

  8. @ammandel,

In fact it's not just about "rep" manufacturers. 'Cos in a lot of instances they are also involved in the gen trade.

I think it is pretty well accepted that these "manufacturers", actually just assemble a number of components, sourced from a variety of suppliers. These suppliers also supply to the "mainstream market"

When you look at the number of "brand" names now using Chinese components, (and the number recently purchased by Asian interests), we must almost question the parentage of a great % of "gens".

This is all a bit OT from the original discussion, however I think it is useful as we continue to understand the market.

I will be in GZ in a week or so, and now have intros to a number of component supply manufacturers. It will be interesting to see how the manufacturing/assembly process evolves. As an example, I have just been speaking with one "assembler". He mentioned that he had sourced some new better quality straps. He was travelling some distance to view them, and if they were an improvement, they would become standard on "his" version.

So the business continues to evolve, and new "versions" appear.

The one given in all this, is that the various component manufacturers are constantly learning and improving, so we will only continue to see better and better products.

As long as the competition between assemblers continues...to produce better and better watches! ( note I didn't say "reps " here)

    Offshore

For anyone thats interested theres a rather interesting thread over on watchuseek concerning this topic..

  9. They probably didn't start implementing the anti-coutnerfeiting mark until later production; I think they rolled out the change with the PO Chronograph and then started implementing across the range from there.

Thanks for the info Ubi.. :good:

Would love to see it introduced onto the UPO though.Perhaps the rep factories are saving it for the UUPO (ultimate ultimate planet ocean)!!!!!!!

  10. It's on my Black dial SM300 Chrono.

Is it really?...nice. :) .is that the only Omega rep that the factories did this on?

I suppose i can only talk about what ive seen and researched myself and i know that Narikaa`s PO`s and especially the UPO`s dont have this nice little extra..just wondered why seeing as they are touted as the best of the best as even a modded UPO made to look gen would just require a quick look at the caseback would tell you that its a rep!!

  11. Just having a little think about Omegas anti-counterfeit map logo on the back of their watches and why the reps dont incorporate this..

If their blatent enough to rip off a PO or a SMP and make it look like the real thing then why dont they replicate the AC logo and go the whole hog? surely its just a simple little laser etching...no?

    Any thoughts?

  12. Yesssssss...got a mail from R to say that he had been away and that he`s going to post the smp asap.

I suppose i knew i shouldnt worry after my previous comms with him and especially after what some of you had said about him being a top bloke but as a noob im still getting to know members on the board.

    Thanks for all your re

    lol...sorry premature posting!!

as i was saying thanks for all your re-assuring posts relating to R...
