  1. Many thanks for a great review :thumbsupsmileyanim:

It is a truly beautiful watch and had the fortune of trying on the quartz version on at Goldsmiths at the weekend, the saleswoman called it "a classic gentlemans watch"..i couldnt agree more!

Just waiting for my rep version to arrive but got a funny feeling this could well be the first gen im going to own :Jumpy:

  2. He hasn't been on the forum much lately, which could account for the lack of contact, but I'm sure everything will be taken care of, R is one of the few people I would class as a 'brother from another mother', I'm sure there's no sinister intent on his part and everything will be taken care of :)

    Thanks TeeJay...

I dont blame him for taking probably what is a well earned holiday...i just wish it wasn`t in the middle of a sale!!

  3. Hi guys, wonder if you can help me..

Im in the middle of buying a SMP rep from Demonslayer and have transfered the funds to his bank account (saturday just gone) but since then ive heard nothing from him.

Im guessing he`s a straight guy and respected member of this forum as he`s got over 1,200 posts to his name and a number of happy buyers under his belt as well as some nice comms with me.

If anyone heard that maybe he`s gone on holiday or something like that i would really appreciate it if you could let me know just to put my mind at rest as im starting to think i may never see my watch, iv`e pm`d him but so far they all go un-read as does the e-mail i sent him.

I really dont want to think the worst but i cant help it...thanks

  4. Im sure he didnt get burned,he seems too savvy to fall for that, but if your saying your watch is the genuine article when its not then surely your setting yourself up to get shot down in flames.

I didnt elaborate on why i questioned its authenticity after i inspected it with more knowledge, and he didnt ask!! but he did sort of change the conversation quickly which leads me to think he knew it was a rep but didnt want to say so.

And yes your right...he was the catalyst that got me into replica watches, so im very greatful to him for that!

  5. So perhaps in a way you have him to thank, for getting you into this wonderful hobby after all? in a kind of round about way anyway ;)

Lets both hope he didnt get burned, but he probably didnt like you say ;)

  6. A few months ago i went out with a group of friends for a few drinks, and on a friends wrist i saw this beauty of a watch and asked if i could have a closer look.

He passed it to me and i was blown away by it,i asked him what it was and he said "its a omega planet ocean 45mm".

Bearing in mind this was before i knew anything about the replica watch world! "is it genuine" i asked, and he replied "yeah,it is" so i took it as the truth.

I met him again today and showed him my new purchase (narikaa po) and said to him it cost 65 quid and asked him again if icould have a look at his watch..you know whats coming dont you??

He took it off his wrist and i quietly set about using all my new found rep knowledge,i was enjoying this!! :yeah:

    Heres what i found :

No omega world map laser type etching on the rear of the case

    Bad pearl..not even close

Off centered date wheel (well over to the left of the date window)

    Short hands

No numerical markings on the bracelet or caseback

I said to him if he was sure he had bought a genuine PO and he still said yes!!!

I just hope he didnt pay the going rate for a 2nd hand gen PO and realizes he has a rep sat on his wrist. :D

He probably knows its a rep but just didnt want to lose face and didnt bank on my new skills...lol

Im always up front when showing off my reps as theres usually someone there could catch you out!!

  7. No misunderstanding, I hope that you didn't took that as an offense mate!

Just an advice from an Omega fan to another ;)...

I was in the same search three years ago and finally came in the rep world with the SMP chrono.

    That one is a keeper.

I destroyed it, while a was waiting to repair it, I bought the classic one.

Good rep but far away from the chrono, too much things to mod on the classic and even more on the red one you were looking at.

The red is full of flaws, I have the gen 2220.80 on my wrist, so I can tell you.

This is a community, we share bad and good experiences.

The PT's is a good choice

No offence at all marty :D

Im glad you gave me the advice as i wouldnt`ve wanted to buy a rep that was way off the mark.

Its only from learning from guys like yourself i can become savvy in the rep world.

    Thanks :good:

  8. Hey mtv, I'm in the same boat as you. I posted in another thread that I'm still new to pointing out details, flaws, etc... But what about these ones from Silix and PTswiss? Can anybody shed any light on either of these? Would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bill..well i dunno `bout you but i think im gonna go for a PT seamaster.

Ive abandoned the idea of going for the "red seamaster, facelift version" as some of the comments have been not so good.

Most have said that PT`s version is about the best one going at the moment and i must admit it looks pretty good to me and even better sitting on my wrist... :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Keep in touch Bill and let me know which one you go for :good:

    Regards

  9. Well ive listened to all the advice and im still set on the smp blue from PT, however.....

I REALLY like this one from Perfect Clones..the facelift model with red seamaster lettering,

to me the face of this one takes the plain smp to another level. :Jumpy:

I wonder if PT can get me this one (i want to use him as he ships from the U.K which is a big plus for me!!)

  10. Its crazt isnt it...

I mean they must`ve spent a while getting it to look pretty much like a gen upo only to [censored] everything up with a pearl that really doesn`t cut the mustard.

I would`ve thought that would be the easiest thing to replicate.....seems not!!!

  11. In light of me buying a UPO later on in the year i have a couple of questions for you guys...

I was wondering if the bracelet of this rep is any different from say Reg`s standard po that i just bought(which ive worn for a week now and find it very comfortable) is there any difference in quality maybe or better quality engraving perhaps..

Also does the UPO come with a swiss eta movement as standard as appose to the asian movement, how would i know that mine has a decent quality eta and not a copy?(as i would probably never open the caseback!)

Im pretty much up together with the other minor flaws the UPO has and it was just these two questions that were niggling me.

Any info would be much appreciated.
