Right Lads here it is, I'll lay it out plain and simple. I have been orchistrating the Save The Dutch Kid's Bday Fund Watch and have subsequently ordered it and am waiting on tracking to provide for y'all. However it is now I who needs to feel the warmth of this board......no I don't want watches or money....unless you REALLY wanna donate them to me......... What I need is MUCH MUCH more inportant than that......as you all know by now, I have a MBW 1680 which I love....ALOT......and last night I found.....wait for it......I had lost my acrylic pearl......yes I know...TRAVESTY I hear you say.... CAN ANYONE donate an acrylic pearl for vintage rolex to the crying and veru distressed Scots boy..............PLEASE!! Without it I will surely top myself....even tho some may say "it looks better without it".....RUBBISH....and even tho HEARTS made the Champions League Place I am still very dodgy and may top myself at any moment....... I am awaiting the arrival of Tea dye by Holtz, you can get it on egay for 3-4 bucks. I am gonna give that a go, get a nice patina and then try and do as Nanuq suggested to me which is to use some shellac/varnish to really age the metal. When the dye arrives I will take pics and do a follow up. HAHAHA!! told you bout the detergent, I have a nice WHITE insert if anyone wants one lol. Chris

I recently decided to undertake mods myself, I have been successfull so far with IMHO, a Beautifull 1680. Now it is the turn of the Bond Sub, which I recently received from silix. Nice watch for the price and a good starting point for mods. This is a very quick peak into ageing the bezel insert to be more weather beaten and vintage. REALLY SIMPLE!!! Take 1 Muller Yoghurt.....eat said yoghurt.......wash pot........fill pot with detergent.......put insert into pot.......leave for 2 mins........rub with tissue/cloth...let dry VERY VERY SIMPLE. HOWEVER!!!!!!!! Do not do what I did at first and leave the insert in for 30 mins....forgot about it lol. Here you can see the finished product on the watch, and also my first attempt lol: Here she is with the beautiful 1680 I mentioned: And finally Rep Rollie + Gen Dolce....perfect: See how easy it is. First off have to commend Andy, for what was an excellent transaction, very easy and very fast. I got a good price and had to jump on it. The watch is exquisite in quality with the small drawbacks being the much maligned date depth, and also a slight misalignment of the crown. Band quality is excellent and the engraving on the back is perfect and very deep as per gen. Couldn't be happier, well it's not mine anymore, I gave it to my dad for his birthday.
