  1. here are few pics sorry for the quality, still need to learn the art of taking watch pics
  2. I'm not :-( so I secure it with rubber band. I also want a mechanical watch as I do dive with dive computer but want independant time keeper.
  3. How did you know I left him the Porsche ? being a family man it was the Panamera turbo and he didnt want the watch ;-) Thanks every one, I think I will go the Seiko way
  4. Some of you followed my topic on strap bars on my 292K which appear to be a general problem with this rep. Well the watch went to the dealer to be repaired and came back 3 months later (snail mail to China) with...lugs loose Since I have no tools nor the knowledge to open the watch and glue it according to the recommendations here I glued the bars into place sacrificing the option to replace the strap. I was happy camper until the crown fell off the watch after two days :-(( the dealer said it was tested before but I can send it again (3 months) so I was looking for local watchmaker to try and fix it. 2 watchmakers I found in my area didn't even bothered to look at a rep. The 3rd agreed after asking if it is a real one (which I replied it is a real watch :-P ). Opened the case back and tightened the crown back in place. His recommendation was not to try and screw down the crown as the threads are not very good and all those turnings is what caused it to fall. He even didn't want any fee as it was just 5min work :-)) I will give him my gens to be serviced, he just won a customer. So now it is working, installed with Pantime Crock deployment strap and hopefully stay that way ;-) (pics will follow tonight) IlanB BTW he was impressed from the quality of the rep (except threads on the crown). inside, he said, it is a one to one copy of the gen mechanism with all markings. If I didn't told him it was a fake he said, with out serious check even he would fall for it. (later on better examination he pointed out some minor things on the engravings).
  5. Got the same problem AFTER the watch was back from the dealer to correct the lugs falling off ( which he didn't ). Now the watch won't move and either I will find a friendly watchmaker to open it and fix it or again 3 months trip to the dealer hoping it will be fixed now.
  6. thanks, Unfortunately I dont know how to open the watch, I figure out I need to dismantle stuff Im not sure will be able to (no tools nor knowledge). So went for a crude solution, since I got with him a new Croc deployment strap from pantime, I decided to lock the lugs in place with the strap. Used J-B weld in the lugs holes and loctite on the screws (just so they will stay there). Now will give it good 24 hours to dry but already after 12h it seems very tight. When / if I will need to ever replace the strap it will be probably a new rep also ;-)
  7. Thanks for the link :-) just so I understand better (Im noob, very noob :-) ). U glue the inner case to the outer one so that the screws will not push it out ? did I understand correctly ? If so, to sprate the two i need to push out the inner case, spread glue between them and replace it ? Thanks

  9. well finaly the watch came back from Andrew (3 months round trip ). They installed my pantaime deployment starp for me (pics will follow later) but...Gess what, one lug is still moving a little not acceptable but Im not going to resend it, what the point. Since I have the pantime lug and screw set I will try replacing them and loctite it together. If this wont work I will superglue everything and thats it.
  10. Hi, I got my eyes on this watch, seen at Andrews site: http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=209&products_id=7890 I want to dive with him instead of my Gen Planet Ocean (I dont feel happy to loose a 3000$ watch in a dive). The watch is water resistent but I can't trust this without good check by a professional. Any ideas if this can be done? I dont have experience in opening watches and dont want to start with this one. d`o you think I can ask the dealer to do it? and trust it ? Thanks, IlanB
  11. 26mm / 22mm at least that is what I was told, didn't had the chance to try and install it :-(
  12. well the good news panatime lug set fit the 292K . They arrived and fit perfectly (screws and bars - but they are not PVD) the bad news is that when I took a closer look I felt I can move the watch back in and out from the case a little (when I hold the back and crystal they move together slightly in and out of the case ) so even if the screw is fixed the bar will get loose. Off to Andrew it goes
  13. I ordered them for my 292K so will know in few days Andrew as usual is very responsive, we agreed to try the screw set first (save me and him the hassle of shipping back and forth)and if that will not work to send the watch back.
  14. No worries, I learn a new thing every day here :-) I will get the panatime set - just for future use as Andrew asked me to send back the watch and I don't want to play around with it and loose the option to get it fixed "under warranty". I will need to think of a way to make them match the PVD - I don't know what is the Linseed oil mod (newbee as I am). Thanks for the great advices
  15. Same thing, it seems the part that hold the screw lifted a bit. Got it from Andrew, he asked me to send it back for repair which I will. He is responding very fast :-)
  16. Hi, I got the great watch and after one day the bar got loose, I panicked first but then with the advise of the more experienced guys here I realized it is just a matter of locking the screws. well... What ever I do I can't fix them - they are constantly loose. I took them out and reinserted without a strap to make sure they are in place but still it is loose and will not hold. The screws in place (all four) but the bars keep coming out. The screw tighten all the way but still the bar move and slip out. Since I got the strap I want, any ideas on how to fix this (even a permanent way) before I send it back to the dealer ? He offered to repair it but the shipping back and forth might be problematic as we all know. Thanks in advance, Ilan
  17. Thanks, After a closer look I noticed the bars don't look broken but it is two parts so opened the screw and replaced the bars in both sides. It seems firm and nice now Thanks for the advice and being patient with a noob Ilan BTW I must comment on Andrew - he immediately answered my mail (sent just before posting here) to know if any screw is missing and to explain what to do.
  18. Got my 292K yesterday and wore it today the first time. Suddenly after few hours I felt it slipping and caught him before he reached a hard floor. The part that hold the strap was broken, screw still in the case on the other side I can feel some wiggle on one side of the strap holder (what is the proper name?) - the other side feel firm. I emailed the dealer and asked for his response. What do you think, is it just this part being fragile and just replace it ? Thanks, Ilan Here are the pics:
  19. just got my 292k from Andrew. As usual fast and smooth transaction. Already ordered the BOB Buffalo in black as well as coconut to choose from. Here are two pics, still need to master this watch photography thing.
  20. Thanks, the 26/22 coconut it will be :-)
  21. Im waiting for mine to arrive from Andrew and those straps looks great (specially the mustard one). I have looked at BOB site but didn't see it - is it a BOB one? Also what is the size I need for the 292 ? 26/22 ? Thanks
  22. thanks, I think I saw it as well, in one of the mailings. I just thought they are already here ;-)
  23. Hi, I have set my heart on the 292 black seal. I have looked t some sites (Josh, Andrew) but can't decide which one have the better rep :-o Any one had a chance to get one, I would greatly appreciate a recommendation here. Thanks, Ilanb
  24. Davidsen replied immediately and the watch on his way to him for repair of the movement and service. Now it is time to wait Ilan
  25. Hi, I'm new to this and just have this beautiful PAM 089 from DSN which I really like. I wear it all the time but lately encounter a problem. I wear it all day long and take it off for the night, some days it will keep running in the morning but most times it stops (after 5-6 hours). This started after 2 months of working flawlessly beating my Gen Seiko automatic in term of power reserve and keeping the time. Solutions? Should I take him to be opened by someone to check the movement ot it is just a matter of "charging" it properly. Thanks, Ilan
