  1. I recently got an email from Mark from Timeshops, who is a trusted dealer at RWI and from whom I have bought like 30 watches or so... This email encouraged me to visit an eshop www.emarket4you.com where they sell many interesting things for reasonable prices (iPad2 64GB WIFI 3G for 460USD - approx 1/2 of regular price at AD). I tried to contact Mark with request if this site is legit and if they really sell the stuff, but received no reply (because his GMail could have been hijacked). I then tried to google this site up and this is what I have found: http://www.google.cl/support/forum/p/gmail/thread?tid=6e20a537c9c0c614&hl=en So, I cant tell if this site is legit, but if they steal email accounts and then use them to send spam emails to the people who then think the email comes from someone they know, go to the place and spend their money there, this smells like a shill to me and I suspect something is definitely wrong! Go ahead and make your decission, but if your received the same email from Mark, then he is probably not the sender and be very very cautious!
  2. Thanks for clarification regarding Breitling line-up. So the line is Avenger and.model is Skyland? I thought it os the other way round... :-) I am not sure which version this is. Might be V3? The dot at three is not half dot according to other reviews I've seen...
  3. I decided to post this, as this watch is growing on me a lot: I have bought like 13 watches from TimesShop.net during last 4 months and they are quite nice people to deal with, always respond fast to emails and always try to resolve problems. Out of these 13 watches, 3 watches had problems (crooked logo, non-functioning chrono subdials, movement died after one month), all related to cheap reps in the 60USD range. One watch was shipped with Japan quartz instead of promised Swiss quartz. I have always received partial credit towards my future purchase, which was Ok with me. However, that dead movement is going to see watchsmith and I dont think that will be reimbursed by them. Back to my todays review... One of the expensive reps I bought was this Breitling Avenger Graphite dial. As you can see, the lume dot at three is somehow smaller than others. Is this that famous half dot at three? I dont know... :-) The dial is beuatiful, crisp looking with nice details: To my untrainded eye, the pearl looks OK, but I will leave it to more experienced members to judge: What you can see here is supposedly wrong font on bezel. Number one should looke differently according to by-tors guide: Stamping on the clasp is quite nice, but compared to the real thing, it is of course cheap looking. If you put these watches side by side, you can see the difference: real thing has the clasp nicely flat with perfect sharp stamping without any deformations, whereas rep has the clasp is slightly deformed by stamping and the stamping itself is not as sharp. However, you cannot notice that when it sits on someones wrist... What is absolutley gorgeous is the caseback. Absolutely stunning! BTW, can you see that reflection of stamping on the clasp, that reflects on the caseback? beauty! :-) See the details: On the bezel, there is Breitling logo, which is supposed to be stamped. On this rep, it is etched, which is wrong, but you can only see it by close inspection: Also, another big difference is the bezel play: It is very hard to turn the bezel on real thing. On the contrary, turning the rep bezel is easy. Once you take it off your wrist and lend it to someone who knows the real thing, he will notice this easily. It is a huge difference. I dont have to mention the lume dots. They are more or less screwed on these replicas and they are not flat as they are supposed to be. The lume is usual rep lume, nothing to write a letter to your mommy... :-) So far, the watch runs great. I forgot to take picture of the movement, but you all know what the asian 7750 looks like... :-) Thanks for reading!
  4. Pardon me for reviving this rather old thread, i am just curious: What is rUSA NP-FU policy? Thanks for explaining it...
  5. Well, all I said was: If you dont like WUS, OK but no need to spit in their face here. If you have solid reasons not to visit them, no one can force you to visit them. You can also post your dissapointment anywhere you like. I was just questioning the way some opinions were expressed here and the hate and offence included in those posts. That was not neccesary in my view. And you can find lots of interresting posts in Chinese watches section, or in affordables section...
  6. Sorry to bring back this quite old thread, but I just could not resist: I understand you guys dont like WUS. What I dont understand is your strong urge to spit on it here, in a place where they cant defend themselves. I am a member of WUS, RWG, RWI, Repgeek and other watch forums. All have their own qualities and all deserve a respect for what they provide: great resources of informations about watches. WUS is perfect place to learn about many brands you guys never mention here, like Steinhart, Laco, Orient, Prometheus, and if you like, MQJ and how to mod this chinese 16usd miracle, for example. Just because you guys dont respect their rules, doesnt mean the forum is not good... Just my 2cents...
  7. To Whatever123: I forgot about the endlink fitting. Well, WYSIWIG - What you see is what I got. :-) The endlink is fitting very nicely, no difference against the gen to my untrained eye.
  8. To Whatever123: Thank you for your reply and comments. :-) However, I have found this picture, where midlinks are polished on Submariner. I am confused... http://www.rolexwatchesblog.com/tag/16610 (sorry I cannot paste link properly from mobile)
  9. To Dave47: (sorry, I cannot quote from my mobile) Well, I am really glad you like my pics. All of them were taken of hand with my Pentax K20D + Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro lens, some of them were made in my home made light box and some just on a sheet of paper placed near my window for sufficient light conditions. And the lume shot was taken in my closet with doors partly closed to achieve some dim conditions (only pic taken from tripod). All of them were then corrected in Picasa, which is rather simple tool (light curves, crop, resizing and sharpening). It was a fun and a lots of breath holding... :-) Many thanks for your explanation regarding the stickers. I reall appreciate that! Would you mind sharing where can one get them online in decent quality? How about a box? What box is for 2009 ceramic sub? Also, I noticed, that there are pilished midlinks on latest subs. Is it on all of them? Thank you again! :-)
  10. Thank you Valerian. Its all about equipment and good light. :-) Whats wrong with that rehaut engraving? As I said, I am no expert, so any comment is welcome. :-)
  11. Hi folks, I am no expert on Submariner, so I decided I will let you judge this piece I got from Mark at Timesshop.net. I decided to try it, because his promotion is really irrestistible. For 128USD + 30USD shipping and 5% PP fees (totaling at 166USD), I got a watch that made me really happy. Till this day, my most favorite watch was MM 1950 Superlumed watch from GETAT (I specificaly requested Panerai like movement with swan neck and dagger pin and the watch is just gorgeous), but today, it has got a tough competition. Actually, I am just wearing my new ceramic sub and cannot stop looking at it. From my opinion, this noobmariner is wonderful. It has got asian 2836 movement, which is supersmooth. The rotor is quite noisy, but that should be an easy fix, if I am not mistaken. The case, bracelet and clasp is wonderful and looks very well made. Dial? Super nice! The lume? For a replica? Excelent! It is on par with my genuine Steinhart LGE (see pics bellow). The only watch in my arsenal, that beats everything else hands down, is above mentioned MM 1950, which uses C3 SuperLuminova. That is the brightest Superluminova available. This noobmariner, if I can judge, uses BGW9 pigment, or something very similar. Every detail of this watch is very convincing and I can say, I would not hesitate to pretend it is a genuine piece - if I was in that league of people, who can afford it. Unfortunately, I do not make that kind of money, that people would believe I bought a gen, so everyone will assume it must be a rep and therefore my effort to pretend it is a gen would be silly. Yes, I could save up the money, but I could spend it anywhere else - kids, house, vacation. So believing I would invest it in a watch would be difficult. But I could still pretend it was a gift from my wife, who would have to save up as well, but no one knows exactly how much she makes... I will think about it... One thing that puzzles me is that green sticker at the case back. I mean the fact, that there is none. I saw submariners with that hologramatic sticker. Do they not put it on ceramic submariners? Why is it missing? Should I get one somewhere? Anyway, this watch is wonderfull and I would be glad if you tell me what you think. Thank you for looking! One thing I find difficult when photographing watches is to perfectly clean the watch. Although it looks perfect in flesh, on those close ups you always find some dust specks. Sorry for that...
  12. This week I have received my new Panerai style watch from Getat. I must say that I am again very impressed with the quality he delivers for very acceptable price (120 delivered to my door). First of all, I had to wait more than I was expecting - a month or so. But the waiting was worth it. The reason I had to wait was, that I requested very very strong lume and movement with swan neck, dagger pin and Panerai like bridges. All delivered and you can see the results bellow. Unfortunately I have forgoten to take a pic of the movement, so I will post pics Tat sent to me before he shipped the watch. I am happy with everything. Only little complaint is the lever, that is a little bit wobbly, but that does not bother me that much. Also, when the watch came, I felt that that box was a little bit wet, not realy soaked, but felt wet. Today, when I went out with my watch, an icing formed on the isnide of the crystal (it was freezing outside). I came back home, opened the case, put the watch on the heating radiator and let the humidity out the watch. Then I closed the case back realy tight and checked the watch outside again. No icing, no humidity... Will have it pressure tested eventualy. The lume (requested realy strong lume) is excelent. it is on par with my gen Steinhart, which is BGW9 lumed. There is small difference between these two pigments - C3 is brighter than BGW9. Thanks for looking! And now Tats images:
  13. Yes, this is the super-lumed version, saphire, golden hands.
  14. Hi folks, I am no Panerista, so please be tolerant on me and my short review. I am pretty sure, that you would find some flaws on my new watch, either in terms of Panerai resemblance, or in quaility, but for sure this watch became immediately my favorite watch and I still wonder how is that possible... Is it that simple and yet stylish design, or that masculine look, or simply the hype about Panerai? Dunno, but for sure I immediately fell in deep love... I have ordered this watch from Tat at GETAT Watches at the beginning of December. After selecting the case style (brushed, polished), hands (gold or blue), strap (several styles) and crystal (mineral or saphire) I placed an order, pped money and soon received an email confirmation. Few hours later, Tat came back to me, offering different strap, as mine was not available. I am so happy with the one he has offered, I think this is the best strap I have seen in my life. One remark: in one of threads at other rep forum, I read that Getats straps are cheap. I can honestly say, that this strap is as far from looking and being cheap, as Cuba is far from being a civilized democratic country with high appreciation of human rights. Although I have opted for regular airmail, I was provided with tracking number. Cool... My watch arrived after a month, although a big part of that time it spent sitting at HongKong post depot waiting for shippment, dunno why? After receiving the package, I was a little bit surprised by the fact, that the strap was very stiff. I could not wear it comfortably and I thought I will have to use some oil. But after reading some recomendation here that twisting it and bending for some time will help, I decided to give it a try and voila, here it is, soft and very comfy strap! I took about 10 minutes, easy and quick. Can recommend! The movement has no engraving at all, so does the case. Clean and tidy. It has a very little flaw near one of the lugs, where there is a very hardly noticable spot of uneven grinding - very small flaw, noticable only under certain light. Other than that the case is perfect, IMHO. I just regret I have not opted for polished case. On the other hand, I can now polish the bezel and then I will have brushed case with polished bezel - cool looking combo. So far (three days), the movement has gained 16 seconds, pretty damned good IMO, on par with my genuine Steinhart with gen 6497. This watch is superlumed, so see bellow how nice lume it has. Sweet! Thank you for looking and I will highly welcome your comments, especialy those flattering ones!
  15. BTW, my wrist is 8,5" as well, so you can see exactly how is it going to look like...
