Just saw this watch the King's website
DEWITT-005-NEW-titanium
SWISS 7753 -LIMITED EDITION
Any idea on how accurate is the rep..
How does it compare to the gen? how accurate is the caseback?
Thanks,
iD
Actually, the Bezel and the "Edge" of the Case are physically NOTCHED, to create the "Gear" effect. The Rep is just colored black to simulate the effect. No matter how nice the case back looks, I can't get past this flaw.
Here's an example in this Nicolet homage to the Dewitt:

What would you do? I have no idea, Please help
I would lose the goofy Avatar, that's what I'd do.

It's good to know your getting used to my replies, welcome back. I guess you never found the time to respond to the information I provided to you in this post when you were looking for answers.
Your question on a crystal press answered.
Your welcome.

Two things, no, three......
#1 - Yours are certainly not the only replies that are arrogant and condescending, and I was "used to" them long before RWG came along. In fact, in many circles, I am credited as being their creator.
#2 - Thanks for the warm welcome "back."
#3 - Regarding the "timely" Post you mention (written almost a year ago), you are not entirely correct. I did intend to follow up, but as I recall you weren't accepting PM's at the time. Anyway, this matters WHY?
I guess you can accuse me of practicing witchcraft now.

Welcome back, Bres.
Well, thank you Pugsly!

Regarding the pics the only signficant difference I spot is the magnification of the date. Apart from that, they look identical to me.
I know I can ask Silix directly about case material, bracelet etc but it would be interesting to hear other people experiences first. If the Asian version is as good and with only a cheaper movement, it does sound like a good deal.

I've purchased from Watch-Silix and what I've gotten, basically, was trinkets. That's what I paid for. Paper thin crowns on PAM's, movements that stick from time to time on others.
Silix Prime has the quality goods. On a par with any dealer.

A bit over the top, or perfectly acceptable for RWG and it's members.

Ah, well... that's bound to happen when a sensitive newb is exposed to the everyday condescending replies that most of us are used to.
Are we talkin', like.... burning this guy at the stake or what? At the SFN forums, there is a "Time Out" Forum where you are sent if you are naughty. You can only post there until someone lets you out. It's just a thought....

Doesn't his have a bridge across the complication, on the dial? I'm pretty sure that means it is not a tourbillon.river has it for ~$1800 with real center tourbillons -
After many weeks of being friendly, of politely asking for something that is by rights mine, i have given up.
RonGoms, you have for a couple of months now held onto the domain name chronokit.com... the name the Pugwash suggested for my website. On the very night he suggested it as a website name for my website you registered the domain name.
You got a bit of a shaming for it and readily agreed to hand it over to me.
You have not done so, i have a website almost finished now, with a logo for the name "Chronokit" being developed by Pugwash for the website, but i don't have the domain name! I have a watch website almost finished and you are now slowing everything down. You don't respond to e-mails, yet you still have time to post on RWG. It was a scummy thing to nick the domain name in the first place, why don't you just hand it over?
Waah.

Ok now whoa there Neil, yes he was swimming just above the ray, but there is no indication as yet that he even saw it (they do tend to bury themselves in the sand) and the barb is more like 20cm.
It was a freak accident and no more Steve was like the 3rd recorded death by stingray in Australia and one of only about 20 in the world nearly all of which were caused in the same manner.....
Steve Irwin was a terrific entertainer, loved the world over. He was a devoted and loving father and husband. He had a kind heart, he was a good person. His death is indeed a tragedy but it was no accident.

Anybody got a Corum from Trusty (or from anybody else)?
I love Corum style but it's hard to figure the quality from the pics.
Also, they have asian movements.
Wondering if the whole thing could be of lower quality than if they had an ETA...
Shall I extend my "request for feedback" to Gérald Genta of TT or to the DeWitt and Vulcain of Joshua?
I own these two Corum's from anybody else. I love 'em. They borh run flawlessly. And, no, you shouldn't.

phpSpell and iespell are two totally different things and they should have no problems co-excisting. iespell is not possible to integrate with the forum software as TT requested above. iespell is a plugin for internet explorer wich let's you spellcheck text input boxes on webpages and you should have no problems doing this, even when phpSpell is installed as the forums spellchecker.
Incorrect. Until you installed phpSpell, I was using ieSpell to spell check posts on this Forum, by clicking on the " ABC Ö " Icon.
Now that you have phpSpell installed, it pops up by default and I can no longer use ieSpell, which is an OUTRAGE!!
-
A while back [on the old board I believe] there was a reference to a Spell Check program that intergrated well with this forum software...
Does anyone have an address for it?
What are you using?
Thanks,
Toot,
I WAS using something called "ieSpell" which can be gotten from this URL: http://www.iespell.com/
You have to change your board settings to "Rich Text Editor" for it to work.
But, that's MOOT now because admin has chosen to used something called phpSpell, which totally SUCKS and I can't find a way to turn it off.

Is it possible to remove a sewn in buckle from a strap and replace it with a screw in buckle?
I am eyeing an MF 24/24 strap, but I'm not crazy about their buckles. I was thinking of replacing it with one of the nicer Europelly screw-in types.
Last time I had to do that I got lucky - the buckle had a spring loaded pin (spring bar) in it so it popped right out!

As for me, I found a simple and elegant solution: I never enter any church.
Close enough for me...... although, I really relate to the Guy Who Wore the Diaper:
"I like your Christ, I do not like your christians, They are so unlike your Christ." ... Gandhi
In the mean time, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
-
There will be Reps of watches like that, but they will never become available.
-
This happened a few weeks ago - I was in a very large church and my friend sitting beside me nudges me and points to the wrist of a guy sitting in front of him and off to the side a little, his wrist was hanging over the back of his pew in plain view of my friend. So my friend asks in a quiet voice "is it real" so I look over and its a SS Sub with a Blue Dial (gasp) I looked a little closer just to see how bad it really was and trust me it was pretty bad. So just as I look at my friend and shake my head no - the guy turns and looks right at me - looks down at my Sub (replica SS/Black) - then back up at me then pulls his arm out from behind his wife and places it in his lap - he then turns and whispers something to his wife and THEY GET UP AND MOVE!
the Bible states that "Ye shall not wear false jewelry in a house of worship."
Translation: You, your buddy and the blue-dial guy are goin' straight to hell!
-
How many of you will admit to staring at another persons wrist to try and catch a glimpse of their watch. I must admit, I have done this most of my life, but really stare after discovering the Rep Forums.
I do it all the time, but at least 75% of the time I'm disappointed.
I also do it habitually when I watch TV, in fact, I find myself stopping on cooking shows & do-it-yourself shows because you can always get a good look at a guy's watch on those! Incidentally, have you noticed that the CSI-NY Detective "Danny Messer" wears a PAM? (Not sure which model)

That's pretty much the way I feel about it. And then again, it isn't.
So, someone exhumed a post from 2006 and I start getting these "Reply to Topic" emails so I had to see what all the fuss was about. Thus far I have learned the following:
So I went back to my archives, circa 2006, and found a few pertinent images, some of which you'll have to help me with the identification thereof.
