  1. Hi My rubber clad recently stopped keeping time. It runs for 30 mins then stopped. I had lume/AR done recently so the face and hands would have been taken off. Anyways - what is weird is that it works fine if held face down. Sat on my desk face down it's been running happily for over a day. As soon as I turn it face up, it runs for 15 to 20 mins then stops. I'd love to avoid a full service - does any one recognise this problem? And if so are there any easy fixes? Cheers all.
  2. Nope. Just out I think. It's a little slimmer that the trusty time version and with a decorated movement. Looks pricey though.
  3. ....and I hit enter before finishing - doh! ... As I said its on the Puretime website as the "latest version". Looks like the factory still hasn't finished that version either as Puretime lists several mods to be made. Is this the same version as on other trusted websites (eg Asian 7750?).
  4. I was looking at getting one of these. It's on the Puretime website as the 'best edition 1:1'
  5. Looks like all the pics of the completed watch and the tear down pics are the gen...look at the movement...
  6. I don't see a lot of love for the smaller AP "jumbo" dress watch. I gotta say - I love it. I'm no expert on this model at all - there seems several types of the gen, from 39mm to 41mm, but there's only one rep model (yes, ultimate vs normal, but the same model). Here's the pure time version http://puretime.co/product/royal-oak-jumbo-39mm-ultimate-edition-ss-white-dial-on-ss-bracelet-eta2824/ Some questions for the form experts: 1 - which Gen model does the rep relate to? 2 - how good is the rep? I know i'll buy it because I like it, then someone will point out where its not like the gen and I'll not like it any more (stupid I know). So better to know up front! Cheers all Tm
  7. Hi The crown pulled out when I was setting the time and won't snap back in. On the 7750s you just press a button on the movement when putting the crown back in. What do I do to get the crown back in on this movement? Zetlands, Pond Hill, St Kitts and Nevis --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=17.123099,-62.590277
  8. Looks good! The gen looks like it has a deeper date wheel - is this the shape of the gen cyclops that gives this effect? Tim
  9. then I've gotta send mine back! I got a PAM 188 from PT and the numbers are printed...
  10. The one thing I see thats off is that the numbers around the bezel are not engraved but printed - thats a bigger tell surely!??
  11. I don't wear the watches for anyone else but me. I happily let people know they are a rep. But I guess I'm just one of those people who like the rep for the quality of the product and likeness to the gen. I dunno, I just like them to match the gen in everyway and when I see a flaw, it really stands out for me - no one else! Guess that's just me. I agree that the AR on the cyclops might make it look deeper - can taka or one of the others AR the cyclops?
  12. I've two ap reps and I love them. What stops me buying more is the big "tell" which screams rep. The date wheel on the gen looks a lot deeper than on the rep. Everytime I see a gen in a shop I can't help but get annoyed with the rep. Is it genuinely deeper or has the gen got a different magnification which makes it look deeper?
  13. I might be wrong - having checked some gens for sale, the white does seem to come with poliched CG and screw in pins....
  14. So I was looking at getting one of these, specifically the white faced Daylight. However, in all the pics on all the dealer's sites, they have a polished CG and screw in strap pins as opposed to what looks like quick release on the black face versions. The gen should all have quick release straps and brushed CG whether white or black face. What gives with the reps? Anyone else noticed this or have experience on whether the white faced daylight is wrong? Tim
  15. So just got back from Harrods. They've got quite a few APs in including black, white and Rg rubber clads and a Navy. The assistant seemed to think the sapphire had AR, but he's wrong - def no AR. The AR on the date cyclopes makes a HUGE difference though. Anyone managed to get the date window AR'd? Tim
  16. What does the gen AP have? Single sided AR, doubled sided AR or no AR? I can't find anything on their website.. Tim
  17. I've seen quite a few posts on this forum and others from people wanting to improve the Cote de Geneve finish on the RBII. Having had Taka do an amazing AR job on mine, the poor back plate finish really shows through. I'm going to get Domi to add the right central gear and screw head on the back plate but he can't do the CdG finish. Has anyone been able to get the plate properly finished? Tim
  18. Bump... these watches have what looks like a pusher of some kind on the side of the case which the gen doesn't have. What's this for? Can you use it to set the GMT hand? Here's a pic on one of the dealer sites here.
  19. Any idea of whether ammonia will damage mineral crystal?
  20. Count me in if anyone can mod my RBII. Love the watch but the back dial lets it down..
  21. Got one of these recently from PT, and I really like it apart from.... the date is recessed too far and hard to read. Not a big problem, but once you know its there, it annoys you. the AR is very very blue, making the hands look like they are rose gold rather than polished steel. Other than that, its a great looking watch. I've got the leather deployment strap, and will check out Narikaa's new thicker ones.
