  1. UPDATE:

Well, I bought eBay item #290041300293 UNITAS ETA 6497 WATCH FITS TO PANERAI PARTS - TITANIUM

from this dude, he's totally dragging his feet. He told me his last one of these had a nick in the case, so he's trying to get another--this was 2 or 3 weeks ago. He tried to switch me to the SS version. I'm hoping it wont end badly (for him). I'm going to be in the UK in a couple months.

Anybody know him? He used to run a rep site.

  2. Now we know who to cast in case of a Serpico remake...

"Whafs thif promoshfon for? For bein' an honeft copf? Or for bfeing dumb enough to get shfot in the fafe?" (Jaw wired)

I like how even though he had major gunshot trauma to the face, the doctors didn't dare shave his beard. Only in the movies.

  3. Nice to be able to put the face to the name, MJ...so what did you get there, then ?

    cheers,

    babola

Alls I got was a springpin tool, thats it. Mostly just marveled at their stock. Asked a ton of questions. They were really cool. They were right near Jack London Square, a kinda cool part of Oakland. I know it's a little kooky, but I was excited to go there and see all their stuff. I dont think they get many people in there as a destination spot.

  4. I have the same problem with my andrew fiddy, but the lever pin in my crown gaurd doesn't appear to be genuine... I mean there is no indication of a hole or pin on the rear of the cg, and it really gives me the impression that the small circle indicating a pin, is just an engraving immitating a pin. Thus, I have no idea how to remove the pin, providing there is in fact a pin to remove.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I have that watch, but from the bottom you can, though BARELY, see the pin, its flush and polished with the CG

  5. i've spent 8 million dollars buying things from them. all delivered by a naked woman in a coconut bikini....

now wait..is she naked or with a coconut bikini? im trying to form a nice concrete mental picture...:p

I went to the moon one time at a Pink Floyd Concert.

  6. You don't read much...huh Mike.....too busy sucking the donkey perhaps..... B)

    slurp

I'm just kidding around Neil. If you didn't have so much time to kill, we wouldn't have to worry about you. I'm not posting anymore, so you can have the last word. Youre so scrappy! :black_eye:

  7. Hi MJP,

You are comparing 2 different models. The Gen you have pictured is a Doppelchronograph (ref. 3713) and the other, the Rep, is supposed to be the Pilots Chrono (ref. 3706). In which case the dial is pretty close to the GEN. The only anomaly I see is that the sub dials at 6 and 12 have no outline, the fonts are a tas bigger, and the second hand for the chrono is supposed to be white.

The "swiss made" and "t swiss made t" script on the bottom are both correct as sometime between 98 and 2001 IWC switched. Other than that its quite good.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you pull the trigger, and we'll do a side by side comparo via pics.

Thanx 4 the info. Yeah, if you have (easy)access/url to the right gen photo, I'll switch it out in the post...that would be great.
