  1. i'd say perfect clones, reading what's left of the photostamp on pictures posted.
  2. Gold shop or Golf shop Lani? I've a feeling one may be a bit more expensive than the other!
  3. it happens a fair bit in the soaps, i recall seeing several Rolex and Cartiers over the years. Bet then with our reps being of such high quality these days maybe they're forum members!
  4. i wondered how long it would be before this was picked up on officially! Me thinks Eastenders are encouraging reps! Regards P
  5. He sure did, as did his henchmen. They were two tone datejusts with his face on! He also had a diamond DD and DJ, the DD was auctioned off by one of his defected Henchmen here in England some years ago for about $150,000!! So there you have it, proof that Diamonds (rep or otherwise) are not a great idea, you'll either get hit on by other dudes, or hung for war crimes! Neither of which rank particularly highly on any of my "to do" lists! What a waste. Regards P
  6. I remember the UAE airforce/army generals having custom dials, the only other individual i can recall with such a piece was one Saddam Hussein. May be worth seeing who can create decals suitable for application to a standard rolex dial?? Kind Regards P
  7. Morning all, Many thanks to all of you for voluntarily providing so much helpful information for forum noobs. I've had several reps of varying quality from SM's to DD's and several in between. With the GMT IIc having made such an impression I'm fighting the urge more and more to have one on the winder. The CHS version appears to be a bit of a mess, By-Tor's review of the ICHS version got me thinking about exactly what is going on inside this watch. Having ruled out the CHS variation. I'm keen to understand what the movement inside the ICHS GMT IIc is doing that differently to a normal 2836-2 (which from previous experience is a sturdy movement). I have looked at the reviews covering this and from what i can understand the GMT function is accomplished by simply slowing the GMT hand using a larger diameter ring??? In which case my worries may be unfounded as the function of the movement is not being technically changed, just fooled into doing something it doesn't know its doing. I have spoken to Andrew at Trusty Time and he has assured me that an authentic ETA GMT IIc can be dispatched within 7-12 days, although PT may be a better option due to them being in the UK. Both dealer reviews seem good so any recent personal opinions welcomed. Many thanks P
  8. Evening all, I've got (in bits) a new datejust replica (36mm, polished lugs), the dg2316 movement has just packed up, i'm going to put an eta 2836 in there but would love to shed the plastic movement ring in exchange for a screw down movement holder. Does anyone know about the logistics of this upgrade? Most of the high end reps have the movements screwed in and i'm hankering after much of the same. I'd buy a whole new watch but I'd enjoy the mini project and the 2836 is ready and waiting on the bench! Kind Regards Ross
  9. Hi Folks, The watch is pretty well made but the dial is not pretty so want to change it out, the movement lasted just over a year and will want replacing asap as its constantly stopping. Other than that its mighty fine for a cqout
  10. Hey Folks, I'm in need of a dial to fit my new style datejust, it has a DG2813 movement. Any ideas? I'd also like to swap the movement for a 4813, anyone know where i can find one with the correct tube size? Kindest Regards Ross
