  1. I'm reworking my sub, and will be needing a new gen-style bezel ( besides Rolex!). I know that Watchmaterial has one of the better pearls, but who has the best bezel? Is the Watchmaterial bezel good? I assume it utilizes the pearl that they sell separately. Thanks!
  2. Thanks guys. That's exactly what I needed to know.
  3. I'm going to be rebuilding my Submariner, and have a question for the smart people here. Do you install a new crystal before installing the movement in the case, or after? I will need to align the cyclops with the date window on the dial. I bought a WM9 V2 case/caseback + crown set + Clark crystal, and will be installing my 2836-2 movmement with Noob dial and WM9 V2 bracelet.
  4. I'm thinking about upgrading the case. I can get a WM9 V2 case from BK, or a Euromariner case from Neo. What would y'all recommend? There's about a $50 difference between those 2. Is it worth it, or should I save my $$$ and just get a WM9?
  5. I've been looking for a Euromariner with black bezel/dial, but haven't had much luck. Any one have any suggestions?
  6. does a Noobmariner ( like from Eurotimez) have a gen style bezel, case etc?
  7. Thanks for the repies. so.....can I purchase a case somewhere and transfer my "guts" to it? Is it worth it?
  8. This is what the parts of my bezel look like now. It has a hole in the case, which fits a small spring and plunger, and the detents are on the bottom of the bezel. I was thinking of something like this: eBay bezel assembly
  9. I have a rep Sub, and was wondering if it would be possible to convert it to a Gen style bezel, with the gen style bezel, insert, retaining ring, click spring, etc. Here is what mine looks like:
  10. Can anyone help me identify this case? The only thing I can see is the Bezel assembly is not like a Gen. It doesn't use the "wire spring" for the dentent. It has a hole drilled vertically into the case, and uses a small spring and 'plunger' to act as the detent, and the bezel has 'notches on the bottom side that move against the plunger.
  11. I really don't know which case this is. I bought the case/movement from Physher007 here on the forum. It has all the engraving between the lugs, and the engraving inside the case back, but the dial was really messed up. I bought a Noob dial from BK, only to find that the date window didn't line up with my existing date wheel. I then had to get a new Noob date wheel overlay ( and install it ) to get it properly aligned. Then the cyclops on the crystal didn't line up with the date, so I swapped the crystal from another 'cheap' sub that I had. The bracelet is the latest WM9 Sub bracelet I got from Vlydog. Right now I have about $220 in the watch, and am VERY happy with it. About the only thing I might do is get a better bezel insert, maybe from WatchMaterial? Is it worth another $25? The date window in the picture does look really 'off', but that must be the angle of the photo. In actuality it is pretty much centered. I can see why this hobby can be addicting. It was a lot of fun chasing down parts. The worst part is waiting for them to arrive in the mail!
  12. Here are a few shots of my first build. I bought the case with ETA 2836-2 movement, the WM9 V2 (hollow mid-link/SEL) bracelet, and Noob dial and datewheel overlay from different members here on the forums. I had to swap the crystal with another sub to 're-align' the cyclops with the date opening. Let me know what you think. Comments/suggestions, etc.
  13. Can someone help me identify this movemet? I bought this TT Sub on Craigslist for $30. I figured the parts were worth that. Its supposed to be a blue dial/bezel, but the dial has faded to purple! I took it apart this morning to use the crystal in another watch.
  14. OK, another option is to swap the crystal with another watch I have. How hard is it to remove/replace a crystal (without any special tools)?
  15. I am changing the dial and datewheel overlay on my Sub, and will need to remove and re-install the cyclops. I think I can probably get the cyclops off with heat, but what do I use to re-attach it? Will the rear-view mirror adhesive at the auto parts store work? Thanks.
  16. This may have been asked before, but I couldn't find it in the forums. I've been looking at another Sub replica, and really liked my WM9 Sub, but wasn't crazy about the 'little' movement. What does the community think about these 2 reps: Noobmariner with ETA movement from EuroTimez Noobmariner "Perfect" Sub with ETA from TrustyTime 'Perfect" Sub Comments? Observations? Critiques?
  17. quick question about Sub pearls. My rep lost the pearl. When you guys talk about watchmaterial pearls, are you talking about the ones on watchmaterial.com for $10? How do you "attach" them to the bezel? Epoxy? Super Glue? Sorry for all the newbie questions.
  18. Thanks everyone. BK was able to find a new Noob dial for me, so it should be on it's way. I apprecieate everyone's help!
  19. Working on a project, and need a black Sub dial to fit an ETA 2836-2. Anyone have any ideas where to find one? Will a GEN Rolex dial fit without modification?
  20. I'm getting a Rolex Sub replica that has a 2836 movement that needs attention. I was wondering if swapping the 2836 with a 2824 would be easy. I will just have to look at it when it gets here.
  21. What's involved in replacing a 2836 movement with a 2824? Will everything transfer? Dial, hands, etc? Or is there more to it?
  22. OK, I'm a noob. Who is BK?
  23. I have a WM9 V2 M-serial Sub with an ETA 2678-2 movement. I'd like to know if anyone has replaced the movement in one of these? Will a gen Rolex 3035/3135 fit? Or what would be involved in swapping to an ETA 2892?
