In the old days, did NEW companies emerge with copycat submariners and try to charge close to what Rolex wanted? It's odd how these ventures pop up with Panerai in particular. I gather they think if Richemont can do it with relatively simple technology anyone can. Strange.
"The model I'd like to get is a Luminor Marina, after doing some research I've realized there are many Luminor Marinas with different model number. I'm trying to figure out what the difference is, but I have come out empty."
You are wise beyond your years. Now you're ready for Rolex collecting. And hip-hop.
I tried one of these on at the AD in Bangkok on a recent trip. It's huge! The glass is not a dome, but it is done in a retro style and rises off the case quite a bit (kind of like the profile on a vintage Datejust).
I agree with everyone that this is very cool, especially for the price.
Wow! That's so impressive I'm going to read it again after this post!
Would it be possible to find a flat gasket of the right dimensions to use in place of the metal spacer? I once had to find a way to keep a crystal clear of the hands on a vintage watch, and used this method. What would the inner and outer dimensions need to be?
Dear Ken,
I wanted to let you know that someone has hacked into your account and is making long pointless posts in your name. I suggest you contact the administrator.
You want the 3919 with solid back that Eddie Lee sold 3-4ish years ago. There is nothing else very close that I know of. Try a WTB? Perhaps another model?
Good luck.
I have a Suunto quartz with an altimeter that I wear when I go up in the mountains. I regard that as a great watch. On the other hand, I recently sold a gold JLC mechaquartz chronograph despite its technological merits and gooooooooooood looks because I just couldn't get over the once per second tick on the small seconds indicator.
I think if a digital watch brings unique features, by all means enjoy it.
I'm sure you guys know this, but I'm under the impression the gen turns once in 12 hours, so none of these would be correct. For this reason it can also be hidden under the hour hand, so you could probably remove it if it works incorrectly.
Good luck.
