  1. Hey guys, I want to get a birthday present for my father and I have been looking around for old vintage soviet watches. I found a great seller on eBay, it takes him about two weeks to ship to the US. Before, I bid on any of his items like this Soviet POBEDA. I wanted to make sure I could replace the cases on them. He specifies the sizes for all his watches, but I am not sure where too look for cases. Another, thing that I can see is how to replace the crown. What do you guys think? For example, how easy would it be to fix this one up:
  2. I got my genuine watch today!!! It is really really, real. Comparing it to the replica was fun, and made me realize how much work goes into fine, fine detail. I will create a comparison article later on because right now I don't have any good lighting to get the detail I want.
  3. So after doing some research, I believe, not sure but believe I am looking for a swiss eta 2824, can someone tell me anything about this movement?
  4. Thanks for the detailed reply Dudemeister, I know that some of their watches list the movement. So I am guessing your that this one is quartz. I noticed that a lot of their watches look really similar, and that's why I figured this watch was just another re-brand. Still I can't put my fingers on what the heck it is, I really do like the whole case and face of the watch. It is nice and simple, anyway if anyone knows please let me know
  5. I really like the forzieri shop and a lot of their products, however I am quite curious, has anyone seen this watch before. I think they just rebranded it: http://www.forzieri.com/usa/product_view.asp?l=usa&c=usa&dept_id=33&pf_id=fz27479%2D027&id_valore1=&id_valore2=&id_valore3=&id_valore4=26&id_valore5=&search=1
  6. Yeah, tell me about it, too bad I found this site after huh Thanks for reading . Yeah, no one seems to have an answer for me . As for the gen, its ok. Since it has all its paper work and I am buying it from a real jeweler I am going to trust him. Plus, I can easily call up the warranty people and get all the information about the watch The jeweler also only sell's genuine watches only and has thousands of positive reviews
  7. I got this myself when I was young and really didn't like watches because of it (at that time). The problem was I was wearing them completely wrong. I am right handed and felt like my watch should go on my right hand, right on my joint. After switching it to my left hand things got a little better. Now, I have never had the problem again because I only wear 40mm case watches for long durations. Anything, wider then I tend to wear for short events like: dinners, etc... Also, the watch needs to sit back on your hand, so when you tilt your wrist back to 90 degrees, the crown should slightly be touching your hand. If you are getting irritations from the band itself like I used to from cheap metal or leather, I recommend ceramic .
  8. So lets start out with the Seller. I originally thought this guy was a scammer! However, I came up to my door about an hour ago and saw a note from USPS saying that I missed a package from China! So I drove to the post office, picked it up and there it was my Replica Versace DV One watch. I bought it from Sellran.com, and I would not recommend this website! Baffled by this I came home and started resizing the watch and paying attention. Lets start with the front of the watch: Overall, from the front the watch seems pretty solid, the bezel is tide in pretty well the body is indeed ceramic. The bezel is of course cheap with obviously fake diamonds, and is probably what adds the majority of the weight to the watch! The date window is pretty small, and if you angle it to the right you can see a tiny, tiny bit into the watch. I also noticed that the markers on the left hand side come a bit closer to the center of the watch then the ones on the right hand side. Also, there are 3 minute markers at the top of the watch. If you look at any legitimate version of the watch, that is not listed on buyz.com they all have 4, an example, from a buyer I have used before: VividGemz. The hands of the watch look well, moving on. The side view of the bezel: The clasp of the watch almost feels plastic, though I am guessing it has to be some cheap generic metallic clasp, definitely not stainless steal, the words stainless steal and the versace logo have been well stamped onto the clasp, though the logo looks a bit small to me. The detail on the case back looks like it has also been stamped on, and from what I can tell looks pretty close to the real thing. Another look at the back and cuffs: So finally whats inside? It is a quartz movement, mostly made out of plastic man... I need help with this one, it seems like its a pretty small one two and has plastic edging to keep it in place!!! If anyone has any ideas how i can replace this please let me know how and with what: I also have one last question that is really important to me, I just bought another Versace DV, according to the Seller which is a real company Jeweler this a genuine Versace DV black Ceramic Mens watch, he has all the paper work and it is Used, it was purchased in 2005 in a California Versace Plaza Store. Can some one take a close look at his pictures and let me know if this is a legit watch: http://www.use.com/acd8547f69879311b955?p=8 I will be opening it up when it gets here to make sure! I decided it was legit based on the case back, you can notice that the details curve downward and really have depth. I will try to post more information about this watch later if you guys care.
  9. Weirdest thing ever happened today! I got the watch, seller still didn't respond to any of my emails and never even attempted to back up the claim on paypal. HORRIBLE SELLER, don't recommend. I'll post a review of this replica on other brands from later. Thanks, PeteM
  10. So, I know a lot of you on your free time off at work like to go to this site. I myself included! This is a quick tip for you guys/gals who can't have hooters and butts flying around your computers at work . This will require Firefox. First download, this plugin: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865 After restarting, Firefox: Click on Options for the Plugin (also: found under Tools/Addons/[Plugin]/Option). Add these two rules: rwgforum.com##DIV.signature rwgforum.com##LI.avatar
  11. Hmm , ok so basically I have to really watch what I am using. I could do steam, warm water, soap, and toothbrush on the ceramic parts. How about the glass/face, and the metal cover?
  12. Hmm, yeah I actually like the case back that Josh has, of course its not like the gen but it kind of adds more interesting detail. the BLACKBIRD text case back doesn't really appeal to much to me but then again neither does the price lol.
