  1. I'm currently in Malaysia for vac'tacion. Last week I was in KL and bought this SMP on Petaleng Street. I asked around foor swiss quality, best quality etc., but I wasn't offered anything better. This one is not the best, the bezel and pearl aren't great, neither is the dial. And I'm sure the movement is crappy, I haven't seen the inside. BUT: it has sapphyre chrystal, the case, caseback and crown is good AND it has a great bracelet and clasp. I paid RM 170, wich is about EUR 42 or $ 55. What do you guys think?

PS Any suggestions from Malay members on how to get the real good stuff? I'l be back in KL this week! Off to the pool now.. :-)

  2. Awesome. Personally, in general, I'm not a huge fan of the camel coloured straps...but I like the cut of this one.

I hear you. I got this one for a special occasion and it fits the suit. After that I think I'll switch to a darker version of the same strap.

To anyone with experience: should I consider genuine hands/crown?

  3. Ok, my turn to show off.

    This is what I did:

Ordered a 3717 from PT in Feb '10.

    Also Ordered:

    ETA Day+datewheel: http://www.cousinsuk.com/searchresults.aspx?searchtext=VAL775025611BW3

    Crystal: http://www.2geek.net/eMart/index.php?c=22&p=23

Strap: Steinhart Chester Field old vintage 22/22 mm: http://www.steinhartwatches.de/index.php?id=67&artnr=136&Sel_ID=20&Sel_Cat_ID=1#136

Buckle: Genuine 20 mm old stock IWC buckle, € 40, from this guy: http://stores.ebay.com/watchplanet

I sent the watch to Domi, requesting lume, service and replacing wheel+crystal. He offered me a swap the movement to swiss valjoux for a very reasonable price, and I did!

This is the result. I love it! Although I'm still thinking about genuine hands and crown. Like to hear a few opinions on this.

PS For those who wonder how the strap fits the watch and the buckle: It's tight, but it works fine!

  4. Wow.. thanks for the links Boneventura. You have saved me tons of time!

That is what RWG is about. I also found those site trough this forum. I see now you're from Singapore. I'll be there in a month's time. Are there good replica's available that you know of? Thnx!

  5. Hi there,

I got my 3717 from PT this week. Also got the original dw and the taka crystal a few weeks back and I'm gonna send it all to Domi. But now that I got the watch, it turns out the biggest (minute) hand isn't done great, the white paint is done ugly. I't all in the game, as you all know.

Can anyone tell me where I can get a new hand? I'm sure Domi can put it in for me.

    Thnx!

  6. Hi,

Last night I was in the pub. Some guy was wearing a Omega, but I didn't know the model. Didn't get a change of asking him. Loved it though! So, here it goes, hope someone knows what I'm talking about..

    - It was vintage

    - Steel brace, very small links. Like the SMP, but smaller.

    - Black dial

    - 2 subdials, one on 3 position, one on 9 position.

    Thnx!

  7. Hi,

I bougt a submariner no date last year, and I really like it. As I am no expert on rolex watches, I was wondering how good a copy it is. Here are some pictures. can anyone tell me how close (or not) it is to the genuine? I bougt it at TR Time and they said it has a Swiss ETA movement. Can't tell for sure though, as I don't know how to tell the diffrence between a swiss eta and an asian one.

    Thanks for your trouble!
