Photos would help. How much difference are we talking about? If it's the V5 PO 42mm case, the parts should fit.

Here's a link you might find useful:

Yeah I found that write up before ordering the parts. It's a shame we never found out how he got on fitting them, it ends saying he's waiting on the arrival of the gen items.

I would add photos but the mod is being done by a watch smith. I'm totally lost on what to do next :-(

  2. Help please... The tube doesn't fit! It's too small in diameter to fit the main body of the watch. Any suggestions on a new tube that would fit yet still accept the crown I have? Desperate to start wearing it now, had it for months and only worn it twice... Aarrgghh!

  3. Third of not fourth person to say the stem, I'm a bit concerned the watch smith may not be up to the job now

I might order the crown and tube and have it done anyway and if it doesn't sort the problem take it up with them again.

Really trying to avoid the return to Josh as the rest of the watch is spot on and I don't want to be without it for weeks!

  4. After a bit of searching I think I've grasped things, just wanted some reassurance!

It seems the well known crown issue has raised it's head... when screwing the crown in, it continues to wind the movement. Rather than returning to Josh (who was very helpful), I followed some good advice from Kernow/Mickey and took it to a local watchsmith to save time and postage etc. He's diagnosed the crown as needing replacement (not stem?) so I thought I may as well go genuine with the bits I need...  I just want to make sure I order the right parts.  The watch was a gift and bought when on special from Josh a few months ago, I think this is then one...

And these are the parts I intend ordering...

Am I right in thinking they'll fit? Also, given I'm not completely sure of the version I have any guidance would be a huge help.

    Thanks

  5. So, my replica Submariner (a gift from a client), got stolen from my wrist in Amsterdam. I was gutted, really liked that watch. Clever sods, I knew something was up and still had my wallet and phone as did my two friends, it was only about 10mins later I realised it had gone.

Anyway, whilst on the cusp of ordering a replica I received a 42mm PO with swiss ETA on black leather from my Dad, for my Birthday. I'm on the look out for a stainless bracelet but more to the point, when winding the watch it clicks every quarter of a turn.  It's also really difficult to catch the screw in crown but when it does, it's difficult to turn and winds the watch whilst tightening.

Assuming it's not common and is faulty, I'm hope fully the trusted dealer will help out (is it right to name them at this point?). Any thoughts gratefully received. Here's a quick wrist shot...!

  6. That model is no longer made. The rep scene is constantly evolving. That model morphed into the M092117 noobmariner which also had the rehaut engraving. I'm not even sure if the M092 model is still around.

You're lucky with a swiss eta movement. Now days even though the dealers advertise swiss eta, in reality, they're probably Asian etas- a step or two below the swiss eta in quality.

Your watch case looks good, the only change you might make is to get a TC bracelet. It would have a better crown emblem on the clasp and not have the 455B engraving on the SELs.

Aah i see, thanks for the help there!

This is proving a steep learning curve. I've tried to research the gen 2 noob but can't find a great deal. Nice to hear it's fairly accurate though.

The strap bothers me but only because it feels sharp on the edges which I know I can over come with some handy work but... What with it being given to me I suppose it wouldn't hurt to purchase a TC bracelet. Will it definitely fit??

The lume isn't great on a couple of the markers either so maybe another point to get done in time.

Here we go, modifications planned and I've only had it five minutes!

  7. Tell us what the SN is on the rehaut at 6 o'clock- looks like F520117 to me possibly- that would make it 2nd generation noob. But noobs had better bracelel engraving on the clasp as I recall.

Yeah it's as you say F520117... I'll search it here to find some more info on it in general. Thanks for the heads up on that!

  8. That was nice of him to do that for you! Seriously. He took the time to find it and a box, knowing you would really appreciate it.

He's a spot on guy to be fair. After a few watch conversations he said he'd bought his son in law a rep and upon his next visit he brings in a genuine catologue to show me. He asked if I liked the stainless sub and within a month he shows up with the watch as in the photo's... My new favourite customer!

  9. Great gift Mark, enjoy it :inverted:

Yeah I know, sounds like I'm fishing for advice having said it was a "gift" but it really is the case. I have been considering an Omega rep for a while and have done loads of research and weighing up a chrono with incorrect date wheels against the UPO, but

then I receive this... Happy days!

  10. Hi all

Still very green when it comes to use of the site but thought I'd show you this and ask for some feedback.

After several watch conversations with a customer of mine (a retired jeweller), he shows up having bought this as a thank you gift.  Obviously I was chuffed to bits but, I don't really know what I've got!  He said he has removed the backing and confirmed it's a swiss movement but I wondered if you can tell me anymore, like it's accuracy, likely supplier, what certain measurements and markings it should have etc.

Here are a few pictures, nothing compared to the standard of photo's I've seen posted y others but photos none the less... hopefully I've attached the images correctly?!

    Thanks in advance, Mark

  11. Ok, so it's 2yrs on and I still haven't bought my first rep, sad hey?! I've decided it's got to be a PO chrono, I swayed towards a SMP Chrono briefly but back to original plans. I have an issue that has put me off this long... the sunken date wheel absolutely does my head in! I was pleased to see the happy feet was sorted within the newer version but, can the date wheel be rectified after? I would stab a guess at no otherwise I am sure I would have seen something on here. If I am correct, does anyone have any idea if there are plans to rep the newer PO chrono with just the two sub dials?

    Thanks in advance

    Mark

  12. Hi everyone. Been thinking about reps for far too long now, so it's time I did something! First I wanted a PO Chrono but decided the date window would bother me too much, then decided on the seamaster chrono http://www.silix-prime.com/omes040-p-1808.html-p-1808.html

I've also heard that narika's are very good, what differences might there be physically and in price? (I don't know where he advertises).

But then again do I wait for the new 42PO that's due? Could be the perfect watch in looks and size, but if it turns out to be a great rep it will also be $300 I guess? Look forward to hearing your thoughts!

    Regards

    A very confused mark!

  13. I've been looking at Andrews site, if by andrew you mean trustywatchguy? A newer version... Exciting! To be honest, yours looks like a damn good rep, an improved version can only be better I hope? I'm still fairly new to this so learning still. The wavey dial on yours looks good; I can only imagine this will be better unless it's something to do with markers or similar?Maybe the new logo will be without the clown feet? A small innacuracy but great if overcome. What do you think they might do to the backing?

  14. I've been so tempted with a black one for a while now, almost decided the upo is going to be too big on my wrist and this is my second favourite. Is the black an '08 onwards rep? If so is it a gen face... It looks great! Who did you source it through?... I'll be following in your footsteps with any luck!!!

    Cheers, mark.

  15. Hi all

Another friend of mine has just bought yet another rep from here, it's about time I caught up, I'm stringing it out for far too long, ha ha! Is there a newer more up to date PO Chrono rep in the works, I thought I read somewhere there was? If not I'll get it ordered tomorrow and get the pics up when it arrives.

By the way, went and had a good look at a genuine one today, caw blimey, what a thing! 0% over three years available from some dealers,

  16. I'm really sorry to be a nuisance but I've just stumbled across yet another query. As you may know, I've been looking at this:

    http://www.perfect-hour.com/000omse01022-planet-ocean-chrono-ssle-blkbezorg-7750-p-5863.html

Having looked at the Omega site again, it states the strap is rubber, yet the rep is leather? I take it this is a downfall in its accuracy or can anyone tell me if leather, with orange stitching was also an option at any point? Having also read lanikai's review () and it shows a watch with a different rubber strap. Does anyone know what strap options were/are available past and present, with both black and orange bezels? I want it to be as close as possible before I start on the other mods, which I am still to discover... I'm sure someone will reel off a list of dial, date font, etc etc mods that I can do?!

    Cheers

    Mark

  17. Thanks for the speedy responses both of you, nikki6 you appear to be very well informed so thanks for the tips on looking up further movement reviews and the tips on adjustments, winding etc. You mentioned Josh at perfect hour, The first link i listed is to his site so maybe worth me dropping him a line. Andrew at trusty time said his shipment to the UK has been 100% reliable so far. Knowing my luck I'll be the first to jinx it! Seems that most of the sellers i've listed come highliy recommended, just worth a thought that EU/UK based may be more convenient/reassuring for me living in Cornwall, UK. By all means keep commenting everyone, still soaking up all the info like sponge! And thanks again so far.
