Probably Vietnam dials. What bugs me with both dials are the date window is too large (the 2nd one is even worse), the gen date window doesn't dip into the minute track but ends above it and will show some white space below the datewheel, and the magnifier just highlight this flaw.
See this pix of mine with an old Vietnam dial:
The gen below is how it should look.
The DW dial has it's own set if issues, the orange is too red, the grey is a bit glossy and should be matte and you'll have to have it relumed unless you want a minty fresh white lume. Good luck in your search, I think the DW is still the best bet, you'll just have to hunt for one and be patient.

Wow, fantastic work!

If you can find gen 589's I can tell you they fit a Phong 7031/2 case. 580's are not tall enough to fit the fat case.
Good luck in your hunt!

Looks legit, but always buy the seller -not the item.

Well deserved, congrats MoaB!

An MBW bezel assembly seems to have better fitment than a Clarks or if you can get a Yuki or NDT assembly only?? that should work well too.

Lord knows I love vintage but the Davidsen FF cases are way off -too thick.

Creative and different, but it doesn't do it for me.

David,
I'm deeply saddened to hear about your father's passing. He was the epitome of what makes this forum a community. He was always funny, helpful, welcoming, kind and a gentleman.
I hope you keep fond memories of him close to you and my sincere condolences to you and your family.
