  1. Nice to hear it's coming together R. Keep us posted on the progress. I'll have to agree on the anticipation!! -the 1655 was certainly my most exciting project.
  2. Starting the day off tomorrow with a little Orange.
  3. Vly, Nope, stock datewheel. A Watchmeisters overlay wouldn't fit -not enough clearance. This is a Gen tropic 116 crystal and I'm not 100% sure why the mag is off and seems greater than 2.5x. I think the crystal sits at a different height on the rep compared to a gen case, which is changing the magnification. Vintage!!!
  4. Also check out O&W's at Westcoastime. MkII watches also has nice pieces for $500-$600 and the new LRRP
  5. The Zigmeister has said he drills out the back of the pearl and relumes it, just like a dial.
  6. "Watchesandparts" on Ebay, as far as I can tell sells the gen Luminova dots from time to time.
  7. With all this Tudor Sub talk, I thought I'd wear my gen 7016 today.
  8. Thanks Ubi, it is one of my favorties too and certainly get more wrist time than the 187.
  9. Great post Ubi, thanks for sharing. Your sources never cease to amaze me.
  10. Okay a bit of a brain fart, I meant to say my 187 -not 201A (201A on the mind that day I guess). There is something about the size and sheer heft of the 187, it's like wearing an armoured car on your wrist.
  11. We're on the same wave length Ubi -the Snowflake for me too tomorrow.
  12. My 1655 today. Good call DLuddy
  13. Mmmmm.... nothing like fresh MBK's. Have fun with them LK.

    Will It Fit?

    26mm will fit Vly.
  15. I agree, I think it is the same as Andrew's Top Grade model.
  16. Hi all, A watch near and dear to my heart. Just my 2 cents since I've purchased 3 1655's; the TTK "MBK", TT's Top Grade Vintage (ROLVIN007) and Swiss ETA (ROLEXP2002) model. If you have the budget to buy two watches to cannibalize I'd suggest getting the supposed MBK model and Andrew's model. I don't know if either has the correct case thickness -never handled a gen, to my eyes it seems thicker than a 1675. I didn't use anything from the TT (ROLVIN007) model since the bezel proportions seemed small to me except for the caseback. The caseback looked the best and has the correct markings but probably not worth buying just for a caseback. "MBK" Pros -IMO the best rep 1655 dial as the outer indices extend very close to the rehaut and only need a touchup to make them perfect, also has the T Swiss T which is correct for early straight second hand models -Case/bezel proportions are very good -The bezel also has the thicker font on it than the other offerings -Accepts gen crystal -Nice shaped CG's Cons -No drilled through lug holes -Wrong case markings 116570 -Stubby Orange Hand Trusty Time's Pros -Nice long Orange Hand -Accepts gen crystal -Nice shaped CG's -Case/bezel proportions are very good -1655 case marking -Optional early model straight hand Cons -Glossy dial -Case at least has lug holes drilled on the outside of the case. One catch is they don't go all the way through and the inner holes do not line up with the outer (I know, how lame is that!). It's still better to have a faux hole on the lug than none at all. I have yet to tackle that problem on my 1655. All this still adds up to less than the $1000 just for the NDT 1655 case alone.
  17. Thanks Slai! I just posted a review/thank you about it in the Dealer Trade Review forum.
  18. Okay I ended up wearing the 201A instead today. I had wear it with a strap that just came back from Zack at RED12 Straps(Old Skool). Its an old Dirk logo buckle installed on a Paci PAV90. Thanks for the great work Zack!
  19. Tudor Monte Carlo is mine I think after that, it's my 201A
