  1. Just ordered a watch. Got a tracking number within a couple of hours ... no pics. Do you have to ask for the QC stuff? Marty

  3. Josh says it is an unbranded bracelet that cannot be sized. It looks like you can only get it on V1.
  4. The case construction looks better too. Look at how well the CG fits on the case.
  5. Could the hand color problem just be in the pic? We've seen that before.
  6. I've been trying to gather parts over the last couple of weeks to replace my WM9/BK sub bezel with a gen bezel assembly. I gave up after too many problems in sourcing the parts, delays in getting them and the cost. I did end up replacing the click spring with one from watchbandman50. It made a world of difference. After bending the new spring slightly, there is virtually no play in the bezel and action is very gen like. This is a very easy mod that in my opinion, is well worth doing. Marty

  8. Why don't you become a supporting member and post this in the sales section?
  9. For what's it worth, I've had good luck with watchbandman50
  10. It looks like your bezel has more play in it than my V3. I took mine apart and adjusted the spring as Cats suggested. I still don't like the bezel action. It's good, not great. I have a gen bezel (which requires a gen crystal ring to install). The ring is incoming. You can solve the problem too ... all it will take is a little more $$$ Marty
  11. Josh emailed me last night. The black dial version should be avaiable in a week or so

  13. Some neat stuff here ... http://www.minus4plus6.com/ouch.htm
  14. The insert snaps in nicely. As you can see, some of the teeth are not perfect.
  15. My understanding is that there are subtle differences in shape of the WM9 crystal retaining ring and even if you manage to get the gen bezel on the retaining ring, it won't turn. Assuming this is true, Is there another aftermarket retaining ring that will work or another possible solution? Thanks. Marty
  16. I've gotten some questions about "toasting" the hands, so I thought it would be easier to reply here. First, let me say that although nerve wracking, it was easy to do. As Freddy advised, I preheated the oven to 500 degrees, put the hands in a pie pan lined with foil and popped them in the oven. 10 minutes later got the creamy tritium color that I was trying to achieve. I'm not sure how it would work on other hands (especially those with a greenish tint), but on the FGD's, which are very white , it worked perfectly. I would not use a toaster over, as the hands would be very close to the element and could scorch or burn easily. You will also get a more consistent temperature in a full size oven. Good luck and happy toasting Marty
  17. Toasted and newly installed FGD hands on my 040
  18. Gee thanks, it would have been good to know that an hour ago Just kidding, all done and installed. Will post pics in a few.
  19. Ok, the oven is cranked up. God please have mercy on my poor hands
  20. This started out as a "how to" thread. I was looking for the best way to age a set of FGD Pre-V hands to get that creamy tritium color. I was going to use a strong tea bath or pack the hands in coffee grinds, but decided to "toast" them as Freddy suggested. I posted the results below. Thanks. Marty
