  1. As the title suggests. It would be nice to have a gen pilot style watch but I love the IWC's soooo much. What are some of your opinions? Thanks!
  2. I love patek s but the nautilus doesn't make me go 'wow'
  3. Ahhhh yes! Haven't thought about that! Who has the best one?
  4. I've recently purchased a new TT blue sub from trusty. I've got the bug again. What's hot in the watch world ATM? I've got £500 to spend on reps
  5. Ok guys, thank you for all of your input. It is valued and good advice. I 'think' I know my stuff but a lot of you REALLY know your stuff. My business is doing well at the moment and I might treat myself to a gen of some sort later this summer.
  6. Hi everyone. I posted recently about Patek pocket watches being turned into new marriage watches. I love the look. Ticks all the boxes for me.. Gen, BIG, see the movement, beautiful face. I want one! No, I need one! What are people's thoughts? Do you think they would go up in value over years? I'm looking at this at the mo http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-1906-IWC-Schaffhausen-chronometer-wristwatch-/230922686937?pt=Pocket_Watches&hash=item35c41091d9
  7. Ha ha! That GMT is gorgeous but hey, even with gen mods the idiots at Rolex would call that a franken and thus not manufactured by Rolex... Why are they doing this? Seems pretentious to me. We all love modding our watches. Even gen ones. Why does it give the AD right to say what we can and can't do after WE buy their product.
  8. I think they mean by changing the appearance to one not of that model. I phoned up my friend who is an AD and he says its true! If you modify it in any way by using gen parts but change appearance it's considered not manufactured by rolex. Crazy
  9. I was reading on another Rolex owners forum and the AD's say that if you modify a gen Rolex using gen parts then they consider that watch not being manufactured by Rolex. So, if you have a great Rolex rep which you modify and make as good as gen it is no different than a gen Rolex that has been modded with gen parts! What are people's thoughts on this? I love the Franken watches, even gens! Makes them much more interesting and different.
  10. That's what I thought. Years ago, watch movements were sold to jewellers who then made cases for the movements to go in. This is what a lot of the high end watch makers did. So essentially that is what is happening there.
  11. Thanks for the info! I've found a couple more. I'm really really tempted to get one of these! I love big watches and patek is my fave watch of all time! I know it might not be 100% patek but its only the case and dial? http://www.ebay.com/itm/PATEK-PHILIPPE-CO-GENEVA-20-JEWELS-CHRONOMETER-1896-/170982756025?pt=Pocket_Watches&hash=item27cf5dceb9 OMG! This is a beauty. Look at the movement too! I could look at this forever
  12. I was browsing the bay today and found a couple of patek phillipe watches that had gen movements but the cases were custom made. Can you really call these patek s? I'm interested in getting one! They look amazing! http://www.ebay.com/itm/EXTRA-RARE-UNIQUE-PATEK-PHILIPPE-GENEVE-cal-19-lignes-from-1870s-with-BOX-/140909745134?pt=UK_Jewelery_Watches_Watches_MensWatches_GL&hash=item20cee013ee
  13. Wow! Great reply from panerai. I think I will sit tight and do what you said. Hopefully get a gen later in the year.. Just got to decide which one!
  14. Hi guys I'm expecting my new TT blue sub to arrive this Friday. From Andrew. Can't wait! I'm going to put a gen or solid gold TT bracelet on it, plus solid gold bezel and genuine rolex 3135 movement. What do you all think? Good project?
