  1. Looks slightly askew at this angle, but the case is right at 24/25 mm wide & 11/12 mm thick: I'm not sure about the actual dial, as I haven't removed the movement yet (still waiting to hear back form Josh). The other thing I love about the case is it has something most other Datejust reps don't--a flatter surface for the crown to sit flush against the case when screwed down properly. Nice.
  2. Tell me about it. I wonder if throwing on a whole, new datewheel would simply correct it, or if it's something in the linkage that holds the datewheel to the movement itself...
  3. Without fail. I'm going on my 5th one (as soon as it arrives) from him in less than 2 months!
  4. At least it's all said & done. And kudos to an anonymous friend here who helped me develop the gif that's my new signature. A true talent.
  5. My lady's new salmon dial Datejust, and in less than a week! See what you think: The datewheel's the only flaw I can find in this one--it's slightly offset which causes it to (other than looking offset) not completely flip over at midnight. In the 3rd pic down, you'll notice the "1" in "12" sits slightly behind the date window; all the dates flip over perfectly fine from 1 thru 8, then they start going off from 9- the late teens, then they go back to flipping over normally @ midnight from the late teens thru the 31st. I've sent Mr. Josh an email, but would anyone know what could cause this and how easy would it be to fix?
  6. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;#entry147946 Please give it a rest already. Free genuine Presidentials for everyone who quits replying to this thread! (simply forward your request to sales@rolexusa.com )
  7. Like Mark Foley railing against homosexuals, or all the womanizing televangelists preaching that fornication is a sin, Lord have mercy, the hypocrisy runs rampant here. The uptight ones who scream about their morals the most are always the ones with the embarrassing skeletons in the closet. It is absolutely hilarious that "the watch forums should only be used for watch related stuff": I tried brushing it off nicely. FINAL REPLY: "NOT INTERESTED. THANKS" "Hey buddy, I'd really like to [censored] your wife, and I'd happily let you stick your [censored] in my girl too! But you'd sure as hell better not post pictures of somebody's rear-end! No, no, no... that's just wrong!" But I guess it's perfectly ok to to use watch forums to troll for pussy from other members? Your moral standing just took a flying leap. What a [censored]ing joke.
  8. Could the watch you posted posibly be a rep? Here's the gen:
  9. I was under the impression (from a The Zigmeister PM) that the ETAmovements weren't built out of magnetic materials anymore, so it didn't matter.
  10. Amen!!! And they can start with the Supreme Court Judges--position for life?! Are you kidding me? They should have a minimum of two, 4 year seats--not dissimilar to the president--and limited to two; regardless of whether or not they're consecutive.
  11. I wholeheartedly agree with most everything that's on here. Taking into consideration the fact that Bush is a lame duck, Rumsfeld's been kicked out on his ass, and now Bolton is in the cross-hairs, I guess my new/newer question would be--minus the mistakes of the current administration, considering a slightly leftist media--why haven't the Democrats been able to scrape up enough balls to use that to their advantage until now, and if this falls towards a lack of cohesive or strong leadership potential amongst the new controlling party, where do you feel this leads to (not just for Americans, but the rest of the world as well), post 2008? (keep in mind the Imperialistic attitude that the Bush administration has brandished to the rest of the world since the turn of this century) And on the same token, do you feel Blair will suffer the same repercussions in the immediate future as well?
  12. Nice! I just ordered Andrew's updated reg Sub last week. We'll see...
  13. Speaking of Super Soakers, has anyone seen this? It sort of looks like...well, uh...
  14. Forgive me if I'm totaly off base here, but what about a company out of the UK--I found these on Google: http://windit.co.uk/ http://watchwinders.watchfinder.co.uk/ would their shipping possibly work out cheaper for you?
  15. Lol--so true! Sorry to have inferred these horrible things upon your character, good sir.
  16. I wouldn't mind changing the topic because this is the "Off Topic" part of the forum, and it was created for that very purpose. If you want to talk about watches, go to the watch part of the forum. While you're there, if you don't want to see my avatar, or this one, or this one, or this one, or this one, or this one, or this one, or *shudder* even this one or the hundreds of others, then go to Board Settings and shut them off. 10 seconds or 10 minutes is irrelevant; if you don't want to see it, the answer is not oppressing someone into removing theirs if they wouldn't expect that of you. If it's not breaking a rule, then members can't expect to tell other members what they can and can't use on their profiles. Even Admins post a little ass now and then. If you don't want to see something on here that you don't like--whether it's a little T&A, or something religious, or something political, or a sports team you hate, or even a brand of watch you don't particularly care for--they've already spelled it out for you multiple times in multiple threads. It's in the Board Settings. Along the previous line of thought for instance (the earlier attempt to steer the subject towards something else we could talk about), another thing I would have liked to point out--to illustrate the fact that the Jesus pic wasn't posted for shock value, but for a more meaningful reason--was the example that popped into my mind of of the British sitcom, "Absolutely Fabulous". On the surface it may seem offensive to some that it is nothing more than 2 irresponsible middle-aged women, living self-indulgent lives, constantly consuming vast quantities of alcohol while depicting images of blatant hard-core drug use. But underneath, it does contain a deeper social commentary on the lifestyle of people who do that sort of thing. Most people usually find it fun to discuss deeper things with other human beings, but when people let their emotions take control, they become blind to reasoning and logic. God forbid someone attempt to have an intelligent conversation on thought-provoking issues without other people not being able to handle it. This is the same reason I posted a political poll on the American vote last night; to have a reasonable discourse with those willing to do the same. This is the purpose of an "Off Topic" forum.
  17. What forum was I booted from?; I honestly wasn't aware of that. I didn't think to look in the rules regarding warez; I guess I figured if a place didn't mind infringing copyright laws by hocking bootlegged watches, they'd feel the same about bootlegged software. Sorry about that--it won't happen again. And please don't be so simple-minded--as the post stated, it was to just ask if it wasn't sexual, would people also want to ban it? If you think about it, it's actually quite interesting that the people who say they only want to talk about watches have spent more time replying to this than they have posting elsewhere in a week. Logically, if I was offended by something (be it here, or anywhere else) and was truly more interested in Omegas or Rolexes, I'd just move on to where I actually wanted to post, rather than spending my time on something that angered me, or drawing more attention to this thread. Everyone here is entitled to express their opinions as freely as they see fit, and there are some rightfully strong feelings and some very good points and counter-points. The reason I posted the blasphemous pic was that when I saw it--being raised as a Christian--it made me wonder why there weren't 1000 people railing against this guy using it as an avatar (on a political board, no less...); I hadn't seen anything about it anywhere on the forum. Then I realized it was simply because no one had pointed it out. I think it goes to prove that things really aren't so controversial on their own, but rather it takes the foes of a particular topic to draw attention to it and make it so popular. If this thread or the subjects therein make people angry, after the Admin (with the bare ass in the avatar) has asked people to ignore it and move on, or simply turn their settings off, why not just let the thread die a natural death, rather than returing to it with emotion? I was trying to change the subject from sexuality to see how peoples feelings were towards something else, as this thread was getting a bit monotonous and boring. For instance, imagine how films like "The Passion of the Christ", might have failed if so many people hadn't drawn so much attention to it. The 80's sitcom "Married with Children", was considered in poor taste for it's time and was seriously floundering in the ratings, until a fundamentalist nut-job decided to call attention to it by trying to ban it on the evening news and in the papers. She wound up actually doing the opposite of what she had intended & made it a hit by getting the world to tune into a show they'd never heard of, that was slated for cancelation anyway. The picture was honestly posted to see what people's feelings were and not for childish shock-value. I'm not a Howard Stern fan. And as far as the issue of respect goes, I've been extremely respectful-more so than a lot of other members who can't seem to control their emotions enough to not lash out at other people in anger. What happened to forgiveness or understanding? Just because someone's opinion or views differ from yours doesn't mean they're being disrespectful to you--that has nothing to do with respect. When a person can't hold their tongue (i.e typing) long enough to stop themselves from cursing or insulting another human being, that's disrespect. But I try not to hold grudges; I don't hold much against anybody, but I've made mistakes as we all have. I feel I've been very nice and more than rational than most in responding to a heated discussion, and whether it's in this thread or any other I've ever posted, I've always tried to do the same. I do agree with the members who say an agrument or discourse addressed in abusive manner, doesn't sound very reasonable. I'm a huge believer in animal rights & protection simply for the fact I believe all living creatures should be treated as equally as humans would like to be; maybe more so simply for the fact that they don't theoretically posses the same sentient intelligence we're suppose to--but even if someone posted a huge avatar containing smiling sailors happily slaughtering whales, as disgusting as I feel that might be, I would never ask them to remove it. I very well may be a new member, but in that short time I think I've helped positively contribute more than others who have 10 times my tenure. Truthfully, there's not a person on this board I don't have respect for, even those who continue to be rude to me or single me out. But I think we should simply take things with a grain of salt and move on--for the simple sake of manners not to mention our sanity & health. We are in the "Off Topic" section after all; it is ok to talk about things on here other than watches.
  18. This says Connery wore a Sub in the first 5 films--mind you I haven't seen one in ages, but I don't recall the product placement as obvious as it is in current releases. Was there a big to-do in plugging the advertisements for this piece (outside the film) back then? http://reviews.ebay.com/The-Watches-of-Jam...CAT:-1:SEARCH:1
  19. There's plenty of humorous avatars around, whether it's a tombstone implying a husband/boyfriend was murdered because a materialistic wife/girlfriend didn't get the watch she requested, or a set of handle-bars on a girl's back suggesting a different kind of ride. Strictly out of curiosity, how about an avatar that's not sexual? What about humor involving religion? I've seen this on another forum, but would something like this also call for cries of censorship?
  20. Americans are always right. Ummm...no, wait a sec...damn Excelent segue CJ--I was actaully just posting this, if anyone's interested: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=14741&hl=
  21. Don't worry if you're not American (some actually enjoy that sort of thing). It's obvious how certain policies can affect the world both negatively and positively. I'm quite interested to see the reactions; particularly the Europeans, those from the Middle East, and our Asian members. Don't hold back your thoughts & opinions! Thanks again
  22. That's pretty smooth--nice price too. I wonder how it scores on waterproofness.
  23. Saw another trailer for it @ apple.com. Looks awesome!
