  1. It's not my cup of tea. But as JKay said, it's not impossible to make a one of a kind, yourself. That would be so much better than this silly 'fragment' thing.

A great idea for all modders with PVD/DLC service, buy a couple of gen Rolex's, create a fancy name and logo, do your PVD thingy and sell them on for ridiculous amounts... ;) (15% royalty to me for the idea)

  2. And google translate gives us:

............ a warm greeting to all ....... we must always recognize us.

May not be able to receive watches from China because our customs are corrupt? We are always the same, which sucks. Do you have any solution? Have you ever bought from China? What solution you adopted? You can answer me in PM.

  3. Knew this day would come... Today i decided to disassemble one of my watches, just for the fun of it :whistling:

Bought Offshore's tool-kit last month, highly recommended!

Inspecting the Chinese movement i noticed that it had a logo (right where you would expect a ETA logo on a ETA movement) , I thought all the low end movements were no-name products. Does anyone recognize the logo? I did my best to recreate it. (Below)

    The dissection:

The tweezers (one shown in the picture) are superb, swiss made. Never thought i would compliment the quality of a tweezer, but these are awesome. Also a bit surprised i noticed that the crown is indeed a triplock construction, cheap rep.

The movement logo (as i remind it):

    Any ideas?

And yes, the watch is reassembled and fully functional ;)

  4. Automatic is always okay in GT's. I guess now is the right time to buy a 928, they'll probably never be as cheap again. The problem is to get all the spec's you want, and then the right color AND in good condition. Take your time and search the field and eventually you'll find yourself a dream car at the price of a rusty Corolla!

This might sound crazy, but given the space, buy two! If the spare parts for old Porsche's is anything like the Mercedes parts, you will be happy to have the complete assortment ready.

    Good hunting!

  5. They're very rare everywhere. That series was introduced just when the big 90's recession started. V12-powered very expensive coupe wasn't a popular choice back then.

It's a cheapish car in the second hand market now because the maintenance costs can be astronomical. The whole exhaust is over 4K for example.

But it's very few cars that has timeless design. Understated and elegant for a supercar. I have always loved the lines of it.

Totally understated car. The Mercedes equivalent W126 560SEC is also IMO a timeless car with superior build quality. But the low prices kill these good cars, many people who can't afford them drive them until the cars are done. Good for me that my dad has got one 560' in really great condition. I really love the late 90's german touring/sports cars, best era! Pic from the web, this one has rare Lorinser wheels (i have 12 of those in my garage :whistling: ).
