  1. I've also been thinking these thoughts, and it would be great. 'Wouldn't it be nice'

But the more commercialized - the more risk, i guess.

As for the Volcano AP, that is a good example of what this forum (already) is capable of. I watched those pics for approximate 20 minutes, then my eyes started to dry so i went for a glass of water, then stared a bit more. No words for the artwork of The Zigmeister and Chief, among others.

(By now I've stared at that AP for 5 minutes more)

  2. There's really nothing to complain about other than the extra cost, but you also get pretty much what Broker described.

It takes a couple of days extra too, but the time between purchase and delivery is quality time for the nerves!

PT is what you're looking for Broker!

  3. Did this little comparison between the fonts.

You can see the big difference in font type.

You can also note that there is a bevel on the new dial but it is very, very small and incorrect. Whereas the old dial has a noticiable bevel that is correct.

Edit: The photos are not mine but from this thread.

  4. Just checked this.. mine has a beveled window. Are the dealers putting in new dials? You seriously need a loupe to see mine..

It looks exactly like RCKH's dial (except mine's with white numerals) I hope he doesn't mind me using his pic:

There is a clear difference between our dials, so yeah theres a new dial. You've got small serifs on 12, 6 and 9. And your datewindow has a 'frame' or bevel. I'm nearsighted and I have no problems to notice the missing bevel at an arm's length distance. But the serifs are loupe stuff.

I've also got the black and white version. Don't have any good close ups on mine and no good camera here.

But definitely we've got two different dials, of which the older is superior.

  5. The old version is more accurate and nicer, no matter what improvements they have made.

There must be a lot of them around. Just watch the member sales, they pop up every now and then.

Interested in this one, but since you're an authority on Omega reps i would like your honest opinion. I sense some favorism of your old beloved Seamaster Chrono in the above statement... :whistling:

Or maybe an ETA non-chrono SMP instead.

  6. There is no need for a loupe for the bevel issue. Mine has just got a straight cut square hole, versus previous versions and gen. They have a quite large bevel, wich gives the date window a 40% larger impression. So IMHO that is a big difference.

I have to add that the lighting is a big factor here, in daylight it's very apparent. In the photos above it's almost impossible to tell.

Maybe it's just me beeing anal. It makes no difference to me, it's a rep after all.
