  1. He spends a week polishing the wall of each part of the watch!? I guess you can see how they can justify the price of gens when this much work goes into them.
  2. It was great to meet you guys. Next time i'm on the Coast i'll be sure to stop in for another chat. It's starting to sound like there's no shortage of Brissy/Gold Coast members about.
  3. Very nice. Warning though. I hear if you get it wet the dial may peel or, worse yet, disintegrate all together. Maybe we could mod the dial to expose the tourbillon. Does anyone have the Omega spec dial scissors?
  4. Thanks! This has been really helpful! I'm looking for my next PAM and I want it to be Ti with a brown face and this helped me narrow it down.
  5. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. It looks like they also have the 43mm Raikkonen edition which I prefer. As you mentioned there are a few inaccuracies like the bezel, while a little better than the other chrono it's still off. The chrono dials are slight off as well, the date wheel is different colour and shorter seconds hand. I'm pretty fussy with my reps and if this was to be a day to day or weekend watch I probably wouldn't wear it however for a sporty watch I can use while out in the water, working on the car, etc, I think this'll be fine. Does anyone know if they are relatively water resistant? I can open it up, re grease the back and crown gasket. What about the chrono pushes? Do they normally have gaskets as well in the F1 reps?
  6. I like the Tag Formula 1 however after owning bigger watches the 41mm just seems to small. I tried on the newer 44mm ones at my local AD over the weekend and I think it fits my 7.5" wrist a lot better. My question is, is there a rep of the 44mm available yet? A cheaper one is fine as it's only going to be a beater watch for kite surfing/surfing (after it's pressure tested of course!). I
  7. Cheers wat44, just put my details in the thread.
  8. I'm from Brisbane as well. Count me in if there's a meet up in sunny QLD. I'm down in Syd and Mel occasionally so if there's one down there that coincided i'd be interested as well.
  9. Very nice! I like the Ti Carrera. I'm thinking about getting the same rep. The only major difference I've seen is the band. The Ti I checked out at my local AD had a carbon fiber print leather with red stitching. Was this an option or is the band it came with the default one?
  10. Cool, more Aussies. Welcome! I just got here but it looks like there's a few of us.
  11. Hi All, I've spent the last couple weeks lurking on here and RWI learning a massive amount of info about different rep's. I've always been into watches and have a couple gen Tag's and while researching for a new one I came across this site. I'm really impressed with the community around reps and how good some of them are plus the whole potential to mod them. I started off buying a Tag Grand Carrera with 7750 from a trusted dealer which arrived in a little over a week. It looked very close to the original apart from the slightly recessed date wheel and dials. The only problem was when I turned it upside down the seconds disk stopped working. I contacted the dealer and described the problem so he asked me to send it back to he can check it out. While this is a pain the service from him has been great so far. In the meantime I inenvitably became obbsesed with PAMs! I've now also have a 111h from T4D with Asian 6497, flush canon pin, sapphire, etc and I love it. It's hard to explain how such a simple watch can look and feel so good! I can't stop looking at it while it's on my wrist. No doubt i'll be buying another one soon. Maybe a Ti model? While waiting for the PAM I got Carbon and NATO straps from Panatime. They make a huge difference! Trying to resist buying a Gunny strap now. Finally, i'm on the verge of buying a 45mm UPO. I'm also continually adding to my wishlist so no doubt it won't be my last. I'm from Brisbane, Australia. I'm wondering if there are many other Aussies on the forums? I think i'm well and truly addicted!
