  1. http://cgi.ebay.com/Omega-300M-Seamaster-Professional-Bond-Watch-/110642375039?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item19c2cca97f Doesn't look right to me. Missing the lume marker to the left of the date at 3:00. Hands don't look right either. Is it just beat up, or is this a rep?
  2. wow, really nice... but is the price right?? $8,888? Looks like there are a few on trustytime now.
  3. I see MBW thrown around a lot, where do you find MBW watches? I rarely get watches from dealers, I just like dealing with reputable members of the forums more, but I want one of these so bad! robertk, that is exactly the one I want. I have some spare organs I can trade for it. Would even consider the black dial if I found one. Although I always wonder why I want to wear a watch that no one will believe is real (if they even know what a patek is). I am really surprised with the prestige of these watches that dealers aren't putting more detail into them. They've cloned the 3135 and rolex doesn't even have a clear caseback! The design of these is so simple.
  4. Ubi, you wouldn't be interested in perhaps letting someone else wear that around permanently, would you?? :-) lol. That is by far the greatest nautilus design, Does it have the clear caseback on it? Where'd you pick that one up?
  5. only problem with these is the date window, it's too far left. The gens (my boss has 2) have the date window all the way to the right edge. Also, it is SO hard to find a rep with the clear case back like the gen. Where is everyone looking at these reps? I am dying for the blue face with stick markers in stainless if it has a clear case back.
  6. Counting down the hours until I leave the office. After a trying week, a date with my couch, a bottle of cabernet, and some cheese is in order. I can usually be found drinking blended scotch, but when I want to feel like I've accomplished something, cleaning up a bottle of wine solo is always a good measure.
  7. haha... I said the same thing, but he was an older gentleman that seemed to be retired and just working there to get away from the ol' ball and chain for a few hours a day. And beside that, in South Florida it is not at all uncommon for people to buy a watch in lieu of paying their mortgage for a year. If anyone can recommend a good model submariner in the 100 dollar range from a reputable site, I think I'm going to order one this week, but I'd love some input from people that have actually held these watches in their hand and gotten a good look at them.
  8. I'll have to talk to the watchmaker and see if she thinks that will fix the problem, and hopefully do it for less money. But on the other note, I've never purchased a rep online, and I'd like to start doing that but I hear so much about scammers and people ordering a watch for 200 dollars and getting a crappy quartz rep in the mail, etc. What are some sites that are absolutely fantastic? I know the watch I am looking to buy is one of the most common ones out there, so it shouldn't be hard to find a quality one for a fair price, but I want to make sure I'm getting the same watch I am ordering and reading about, and not a poor quality canal street watch.
  9. I thought it might have something to do with the stem. I'm not familiar enough with the internal workings of a watch movement, but I'd hate to pay 100 dollars to have the watchmaker hack off a small piece from the end of the stem and have it work perfectly. Like I said, I'd rather just wear it unscrewed, most people don't notice anyway. One person (the cashier at a supermarket, wearing a submariner) looked at it and let me know I forgot to screw down the crown. I thanked him for noticing, screwed it down, and then unscrewed it about 45 seconds later so it would keep time lol.
  10. I'm new to the forum, but so far I love it. I have a rep Yachtmaster, and it is a fantastic rep aside from the lume, it will glow for a few minutes if you hold it under a light for awhile, but with regular wear, it stays as dark as the night. Not a huge issue imo, but I am now experiencing an issue and want to know if anyone else has seen is with this watch. The watch will stop keeping time when the crown is screwed down. As long as I keep the crown unscrewed, this thing is almost perfect, off by maybe 3 seconds a day and only needs winding if I dont' wear it for more than 24 hours. As soon as I screw down the crown, about 20 minutes later the hands stop, until i shake it up and then it goes for another couple minutes, then stops. If I unscrew the crown, it is back to ticking again. Any ideas? I have 2 watchmakers in town that will happily work on reps, but I don't want to spend 100 dollars getting it fixed, when I could spend 100 on a new watch (and I am dying for a black SS submariner). On that note, aside from my YM problems, if I get a $80-100 SS submariner, what am I sacrificing besides a better movement? My YM has a cheap asian 21j movement that keeps amazing time, and has for about a year now. So I don't mind the cheaper movement. But is there anything else that I should be aware of that people would spot as fake from a mile away on the lower priced models?
