Both of da schwingungweites are equally problematic. Da low one ist obvious, but da high one may result in broken impulse juwel, early hemmung unlock and at da least positional 'knocking' under full gangreserve.
Da beat error should be less than .1 ms.

Typical of da poor materials and da worn out tooling.
Da uhrmacher would empty da case, apply da extra fine lapping compound and utilizing surfactant and water would dress da threads by repeated, progressively deeper engagement and da periodic cleaning. Da rookie vill "screw" dis up every time by going too deep and "locking" da abrasive in place. Da uhrmacher then polishes da threads to remove any traces of loose metal and cleans dis residue. Simple - if you are patient!

Ja, stiff has heard dis before. Da bench mounted Bergeon or even da Horotec opens dem.

Dis isn't usually so much of da problem wid da Bergeon watch case opener. Hygene and lubrication helps. Da hand held wrench ist woefully inadequate fur da tight ones.

. . . . . . it's a series (three or four) of wheels, lots of opportunity for contamination and also friction, so that's where I'm concentrating at the moment. Of course, being a DG movement the winding/gear train bridge is horrible to get back together, so taking it apart is always a leap of faith. Thanks Richard
Took stiff longer to attach da rotor than to set da bridge. (stiff just kind of shook it and it all fell together?)
Dat little dodad in the lower left ist part of the gear reduction and engages da click with da funny teeth on bottom? Has a fixed wheel on top and da free wheeling one on bottom and some sort of ratchet function? in between. stiff thinks dis may be problematic.
It's da shame. Wid a little more design effort dis could have been da decent calibre.

Stiff - I must confess I can answer "ja" to all except 2e - my bicycles are very well maintained, but do spend time transporting me from sofa to fast food restaurant. Possibly a part of the problem you think? Vielen danke, Mein Herr, but I do feel a watch issue is more likely than anything else, but you did cheer me up anyway
stiff has been pouring over da Hangzhou technical service bulletins for da past 24 hours. Of course stiff speaks (nor reads) no Cantonese!
Does dis look familiar 'Herr Seiko'? Dirt & cracked hole jewel? Maybe hygene? Maybe da bad point on da ratchet yoke?
Vat do you think?

Dis isn't usually da big problem and stiff vill try to help you!
1. Have you:
a. had a birthday within da past year?
b. ever been seen in da "fast food" joint?
c. watched more than one season of da TV sitcom?
d. ever had to buy larger sized clothes?
2. Do you have:
a. da couch, sofa, davenport, recliner or simlar furniture?
b. more than one remote control?
c. more than one auto?
e. a bicycle - with da oxidized chain?
If you have answered ja to more than two (2) of da above, da uhren must be placed on da automatic winder and tested fur da gangreserve!

Neither da hour, minute or second hand moves?
And the balancier continues to oscillate?
Verrrrrrrrrrrrrry interesting . . . . . . . .
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On da "conventional Swiss, anchor type train"(non-offset), if da moving zeiger are only da:
minute and seconds hands - look fur da "raised" hour wheel or da damaged or dislodged minute wheel
hour and seconds hands only - look fur da loose minute hand
seconds hand - loose cannon pinion
none and da werks ist still going - look fur da priest!

Why do I spend hours writing and editing the text so that it's understandable to everyone, when no is bothering to spend 3 minutes reading what's been written. . . . . .
Dis is correct! Why do you not show da Zigmeister da respect dat he ist due?

Wheel nomenclature
“roue de seconde” Francais - modern
“roue de champ” Francais - classical
“sekundenrad “ Deutsch
“second wheel” English – etaspeak
“fourth wheel” English – UK/US
To properly shorten the pinion, it should be:
- "chucked" in the lathe
- "parted off" with the TC graver
- "profiled"
- polished.

I have a Ladies Tudor Geneve, fitted with a movement clearly marked 2554. The movement does not have an ETA marking, although it is ETA in appearance. But ETA do not list this number! A solid search via Google only raises some spurious "Bargain FS adverts" but no solid information on a Tudor fitted with a calibre like this. Does anyone have any info, or a cross reference please? Better still a parts list. Offshore
No, da Tudor brand has used da variety of manufacturers' ebauches for modification.
ETA doesn't list 2554 because it isn't one of der calibre designations. Tudor purchased ETA calibre '2550' and used dem as da basis for der calibre '2554' designation.
Do you have pictures of dis uhren?

. .. . . . . . . Sorry buy what is a liquid wrench .. . .. .
LW is only one of da most powerful chemical substances known to mankind and obviously unavailable in your neck of da woods due to da health issues and environmental concerns. Available in sizes ranging from da 4 oz "dropper" can (dis ist da classic) to da 54 gallon industrial drum (fur da seriously stuck stuff like canal lock gates, draw bridges, etc.
Since you have interest, here is a little more of da technique:
a. place da werks in da proper holder
b. clamp da holder in da vise
c. shields da werks with protective adhesive tape
d. form da sacrificial screw driver dat is da entire length of da screw slot (and dat also barely touches the base of same slot)
e. exert CW pressure while tapping da other end with da jewelers hammer
f. repeat "e." only - CCW
g. soak da work area with one of da most powerful chemical substances known to man (24 hr)
h. apply da tip of da 30 watt soldering iron to the head of da screw until smoke ist present
i. after cooled - repeat "g."
j. repeat "h."
k. remove screw

do you guys have any other idea?
In dis sequence:
1. screwdriver/hammer
2. liquid wrench
3. soldering iron
4. liquid wrench
5. soldering iron
6. remove da screw

These are all great ideas. Per da thread title, da last place to look might be for da loose bridge or da bent pivot (and not necessarily on da balancier staff).
